SAFETY INFORMATION

Before you assemble or operate this unit, please carefully read this entire manual. Failure to do so may result in a fire, explosion, injury, or death.
WARNING

  • FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY! This fire pit shall be used only outdoors in a well-ventilated space and shall not be used in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
  • DO NOT add gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lighter fluid, or alcohol to relight or enhance flame. Excessive heat may damage the integrity of the structure. The ONLY method of lighting used should be a match or lighter. Do not use any flammable fuels.
  • Never use charcoal or any other solid fuel in the fire pit.
  • DO NOT use the unit indoors due to the hazard of carbon monoxide fumes. Lack of ventilation can cause death.
  • This fire pit was designed for burning untreated wood ONLY. Do not use chemically treated fire logs.
  • DO NOT pour water into the fire pit when it is burning; this will cause rusting.
  • Check the local bylaws before using the fire pit.
  • Never leave a lighted fire pit unattended.
  • DO NOT use under any unprotected combustible structure. Keep combustible surfaces at least one yard away from all sides of the fire pit.
  • Protective gloves and long-handled tools are recommended for use with this fire pit.
  • Dispose of packing materials properly.
  • DO NOT use a fire pit on wooden decks or on another combustible surface.
  • Keep children away from hot fire pit.
  • Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the area of the fire pit.
  • Clothing or other flammable material should not be placed on or near the fire pit.
  • Any guard or other protective device removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operating the fire pit.
  • A fire pit will remain very hot for a period of time after use.
  • Be sure the fire pit is cooled before moving.
  • Use with extreme care and at your own risk.
  • This fire pit must be attended to at all times!
  • Do not operate the fire pit unless it is completely assembled and all parts are in place.
  • Pay attention when operating the fire pit. It is hot when in use and should never be left unattended. Do not move it while in operation.
  • Do not use this fire pit for cooking.
  • Do not put any other fire pit cover or anything flammable on, beneath, or around the fire pit.
  • Never place clothing or other flammable materials on or near the fire pit.
  • Users should be alerted to the hazards of high surface temperatures and keep a safe distance to avoid burning or clothing ignition.
  • Never lean over the open fire pit or place hands or fingers on the upper portion of an operational unit.
  • Combustible materials should never be within 48 inches of the top, back, or sides of the fire pit.
  • Do not handle the fire pit until it is completely cooled.
  • This heating appliance should not be used on plastic or artificial wood decks.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS CONTENTS

  2. Attach the door latch (G) to the door assembly (F) using one M6x10mm silver screw (CC) and one M6 silver nut (DD). Tighten with a Phillips screwdriver and the wrench (GG).bond 52168 28 Inch Portable Steel Fire Pit - ASSEMBLY 2 Hardware Used

  3. Connect the side panels (D) and the door assembly (F) together to form a circle. Attach the upper connectors (E) and lower connectors (H) to the inside top and bottom of the side panels and the door assembly as illustrated in figure 3. Insert two M6x10mm silver screws (CC) to each connector and secure with two M6 silver nuts (DD). Tighten with a Phillips screwdriver and the wrench (GG).   4. Attach the left rear leg (K) to the front leg (O) using one M6x35mm black screw (EE). Secure with one M6 black nut (BB). Tighten with a Phillips screwdriver and the wrench (GG). Attach the right rear leg (L) to the front leg (O) using one M6x35mm black screw (EE). Secure with one M6 black nut (BB).   5. Insert the axis (N) through the pre-drilled holes in the left rear leg (K) and right rear leg (L). Attach one wheel (M) to the axis (N). Secure that side with one M10 nut (FF).   6. Attach the handle (A) to the fire bowl (J) using two M6x10mm black bolts (AA).
    Then secure with two M6 wing nuts (HH).

  7. Attach the fire bowl (J) to the legs (K and L) using four M6x35mm black screws (EE).
    Secure with four M6 black nuts (BB).

8. Place the wood grate (I) in the fire bowl (J).

OPERATION

To Light

  1. Make sure all debris is removed from the fire pit.
  2. Place a layer of dry kindling or a natural firestarter onto the center of the log rack.
  3. Place above that a layer of dry seasoned hardwood that is cut to lengths no more than 3/4 the width of the fire bowl.
  4. Use a long match to light kindling.

To Extinguish

  1. Allow the fire to burn itself out.
  2. Do NOT use water to extinguish as this is dangerous and can cause damage to the fire pit.

Tending The Fire

  1. While using fire poker, shift coals/wood logs to allow additional airflow.
  2. Wait until glowing coals have developed before adding any additional wood. If additional wood is required, place wood on top of the coals. Be careful not to shift ashes.

MAINTENANCE

  • This outdoor fire pit should be inspected on a regular basis to ensure product safety and long product life.
  • Check handles to make sure they are secure.
  • Check components for any signs of damage.
  • Wipe exterior surfaces with a mild cleaning product and water.
  • For stubborn surfaces use a citrus-based degreaser and soft cloth.
  • Rinse surfaces clean of any cleaning product with water after cleaning is complete.
  • Remove built-up creosote from components with a chimney cleaning product.
  • Store the fire pit in a cool dry place.
  • Use manufacturer-approved or supplied replacement parts and accessories only. Otherwise, it may void the warranty of this product and result in a hazardous condition.
  • Keep the fire pit free and clear from combustible materials and debris.

The manufacturer warranty will be voided by, and the manufacturer disclaims any responsibility for, the following actions:

  • Modification of the unit and/or components.
  • Use of any component part not manufactured or approved by the manufacturer.
  • Use and installation other than what is listed in this manual.
