QUANTUM® ELMRW Emergency Remote Unit User Guide
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

These instructions do not attempt to cover all installation and maintenance situations. If you do not understand these instructions or additional information is required, contact Lithonia Lighting or your local Lithonia Lighting distributor.

WARNING: RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY – This product may have sharp edges. Wear gloves to prevent cuts or abrasions when removing from carton, handling, installing and maintaining this product.
WARNING: Do not exceed fixtures ambient temperature -40°F-131°F (-40°C- 55°C). Use of unauthorized input voltage voids warranty and UL listing of this product and may present a risk of fire or explosion.
- Disconnect A.C. power before servicing.
- All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel.
- Consult your local building code for approved wiring and installation.
- Do not mount near gas or electric heater.
- For use Outdoors. Failure to ensure connections are properly protected against water ingress during installation may void warranty.
- Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
- The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
- Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND DELIVER TO OWNER AFTER INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION and MOUNTING
IMPORTANT: Provide ELMRW LP220L with DC power supply from 5V through 20V and SP640L units with a DC power supply from 5V through 20V un-switched circuit used for emergency lighting.
WARNING: During installation of remotes, wires from main unit to remote units must NOT be connected to each other or connected to ground. Failure to do so will lead to failure of the main unit.
NOTE: The maximum mounting height with tilt and swivel lamp heads is shown below to meet the minimum illumination requirements of NFPA 101 (current Life Safety Code).
1 Junction box mounting:
-Some details shown below may vary-
A. Disconnect DC Power Input connector from PCB enclosure during first part of installation. Use code-approved connectors to connect input leads inside J-box (not included) [See label on wire pair for positive and negative polarity colors].
B. Route input harness into the J-Box (not included).
C. For wet applications install the gasket and/or silicone sealant as required to seal the remote lamp housing to junction box (not included).
D. Carefully place the PCB enclosure inside the J-Box (not included) and connect input connector to the PCB enclosure. See Illustrations on page 3.
E. Taking care not to pinch wires or connectors dressed inside junction box, secure remote housing (adapter plate provided, if needed) to junction box screws. NOTE: to ensure proper engagement of the remote housing to the J-Box (not included), DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE SCREWS.

CAUTION:
During installation of remotes, input wires from main unit to remote units must NOT be connected to earth ground. Failure to do so will lead to failure of the main unit.
LAMP AIMING
- To adjust the lamphead at housing, twist lamphead to the desired position. (Do not loosen torque nut inside the housing.)
- To adjust the lamphead around the Aiming Screw , loosen Aiming Screw and aim lamphead to desired position.
- Tighten the screw to finish aiming procedure.
(Torque spec: 12 in-lbs)
