Lightware LWARE-EXTEND-03 Cisco Room Integration
Product Information
The Lightware Cisco Packages are designed to integrate with Cisco codecs and
provide enhanced video and audio connectivity options.
The package includes the following components:
- LWARE-EXPAND-01 Package
- MMX4x2-HDMI with accessories
- UD Kit Double for MMX4x2-HDMI
- USB-to-serial cable (FTDI)
Product Usage Instructions
- Start with a working Cisco codec with a display connected and ready to use.
- Log in to your Cisco codec’s web interface and make the following change: Settings / Configurations / SerialPort / LoginRequired / Off. Click on Save.
- Connect the Cisco codec with the Lightware unit’s RS-232 (P1) port. Use the FTDI USB to Serial adapter cable for the following Cisco models: Webex Room Kit, Webex Room Kit Plus, and Webex Room Kit Mini. For the Webex Room Kit Pro, use a custom-made 3-pole Phoenix to 3-pole Phoenix cable (not supplied).
- Connect one of the Lightware HDMI video outputs to the HDMI input of the Cisco codec.
- Connect your video sources to the HDMI video inputs of the Lightware unit.
- Power on the Lightware unit.
- Apply the Lightware Quick Start for Cisco Room Integration via the front panel interface: Press the SET AUDIO CONFIG button on the front panel 3 times quickly.
- Wait for the upcoming messages on the touch panel and follow the instructions.
Please note that further options and customization can be done using
Lightware’s Cisco Room Configuration Wizard.
The wizard is necessary for CSHARE and DIVISIBLE packages. If you upload the
configuration file generated by the wizard, the Quick Start will be disabled.
For more details, please refer to the descriptions provided with each package.

Start with a working Cisco codec with a display connected and ready to use.

Lightware Quick Start for Cisco Room Integration
This document refers to packages ordered via Cisco CCW and Lightware devices
marked with Cisco Enabled on the housing. Find the label below to make sure
you have the Lightware Quick Start for Cisco Room Integration enabled for your
device.
Cisco Enabled
Performing the described Quick Start means the following:
- Communication is tested between the Lightware device and the Cisco Codec,
- Instant source naming.
Lightware’s Cisco Room Configuration Wizard
Further options and more customization is available by the Lightware’s Cisco
Room Configuration Wizard:

The wizard is necessary for CSHARE and DIVISIBLE packages.

BYOD Selection for sharing
This section refers to Cisco Webex Room Kit / Plus or Pro devices only.
To share the camera/audio features of the Cisco codec mentioned above for the
connected sources, the following will be necessary:
- HDMI to USB Capture device; recommended products:
- Inogeni 4KXUSB3 HDMI to USB 3.0 Converter (supplied only in LWARE-CSHARE-01 package), or
- Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus.
- Audio-, video- and USB cables (not supplied in this package).
- Configuration files generated by Lightware’s Cisco Room Configuration Wizard.
The Typical Application diagram contains a separate area about this option. No need for HDMI to USB capture unit for Cisco Webex Room Kit Mini.
