Product Information:

The Rhinorack.com Suzuki Jimny Overland Kit is a roof rack system designed for the Suzuki Jimny vehicle. It provides additional storage space on the roof of the vehicle for carrying various types of cargo. The kit includes various components such as side extrusions, backbone, front/rear extrusions, planks, underbars, corner bases, and corner covers.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before installation, check the Rhino-Rack website to ensure you have the latest issue of the instructions.
  2. Refer to the fitting instructions provided to ensure correct installation of the product.
  3. Check the contents of the kit before starting the installation and report any discrepancies.
  4. After installation is complete, place these instructions in the vehicle’s glove box.
  5. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure warranty coverage.

Usage Guidelines:

  • Distribute loads evenly and laterally/longitudinally as low as possible over the span.
  • Avoid point loads concentrated at the front or rear.
  • Exercise extreme care when transporting wind-resistant loads, especially during cornering and braking.
  • Off-road conditions require extra caution. Take care when driving on surfaces without a protective layer.
  • Long flexible loads must be securely attached to rigid support and tied down to the bonnet.
  • Surfboard overhang greater than 600mm must be tied to the bonnet.
  • Loads must be tied down to the platform, not around the legs.
  • Use only non-stretch fastening ropes or straps to attach cargo to the roof racks.
  • Do not obstruct windscreen camera sensors.
  • The warranty for the roof rack system will be void if the front of the kayak is not secured to the bonnet.
  • Remove the racks when taking the vehicle through an automatic car wash.
  • The manufacturer’s roof load limit does not support the use of rooftop tents.
  • Ensure the sunroof does not collide with the roof rack system.

Maintenance and Torque Settings:

In-service maintenance checks should be performed regularly. The following torque settings apply unless otherwise stated in the instructions:

  • M6: 3-4 lbs/ft (4-5 Nm)
  • M8: 8-10 Nm (6-7.5 lbs/ft)
  • M10: 16-18 Nm (12-13 lbs/ft)

INSTRUCTION INSTALLATION

  • Distribute loads evenly and laterally/longitudinally as low as possible over the span.

    Extreme care must be taken on any driven path that does not contain a surface protection layer (tar/bitumen).

In-service maintenance checks

  • All bolt connections should be checked after driving a short distance when you first install your roof racks.
  • All bolted connections should be checked again at regular intervals (weekly is recommended, depending on road conditions, usage, loads and distances travelled).
  • All bolted connections should be checked each time they are re-fitted.
  • Off-road conditions are more rigorous. Check all bolted connections and your load more regularly.
  • Ensure that your vehicle manufacturer’s GVM, and gross axle weights are not exceeded (refer to vehicle owner’s manual).
