Product Information
The GLACIER G40 ASUS GPU Block is a cooling solution designed for advanced users. It is compatible with the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4080 and ASUS TUF GAMING RTX 4080 graphics cards. The package includes the following components:
- GB4080AS block – 1 unit
- GLACIER stop fitting – 2 units
- Support bracket – 1 unit
- Thermal compound – 1 unit
- Block thermal pads – 2 pre-cut pieces
- M3x10 screws – 1 unit
- M2.5×5 screws/washers – 4/4 units
- Phanteks D-RGB cable – 1 unit
- GB4080AS backplate – 1 unit
- Backplate thermal pads – 2 pre-cut pieces
- 8x M2.5×8 flush screws
- 2x M2.5×6 flush screws
- Motherboard cable – 1 unit

Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Removing Stock Cooler
- Unscrew all highlighted screws to remove the stock cooler and backplate.
- Make sure to unplug the LED and fan cables before removing the stock cooler.
Step 2: Applying Thermal Paste & Pads
- Clean off the original thermal compound using isopropanol alcohol.
- Remove the protective film from the thermal pads and place them correctly on the PCB.
- Apply the Phanteks Thermal Compound to the center of the GPU chip.
- Make sure to remove the protective film on both sides of the thermal pads.
Step 3: Mounting the Water Block
- Secure the support bracket to the GPU block first.
- Carefully position the water block onto the graphics card, aligning the mounting holes on the PCB with the holes on the water block.
- Secure the water block to the PCB using 4 M2.5x5mm screws and washers.
- Secure the support bracket with the original cooler screw.
- Ensure that the GPU with the water block is laid flat down without resting on the PCI bracket.
Step 4: Applying Thermal Pads
- Remove the protective film from both sides of the thermal pads.
- Place the thermal pads correctly on the backplate.
Step 5: Installing the Backplate
- Carefully position the backplate onto the graphics card, aligning the mounting holes on the PCB with the holes on the backplate.
- Secure the backplate to the PCB using 8x M2.5x8mm and 2x M2.5x6mm flush screws.
Step 6: Installing into the System
- Secure the product with the original screw.
- Daisy-chain Phanteks D-RGB products together if desired.
- Perform a leak test before providing power to any system components (optional).
- Use the motherboard cable to connect the LED strip to the motherboard.
- Connect to Phanteks Case / Motherboard Cable.

STEP 1. REMOVING STOCK COOLER
Unscrew all highlighted screws to remove the stock cooler and backplate.

Make sure to unplug the LED and Fan cables when you remove the stock cooler.
STEP 2. APPLYING THERMAL PASTE & PADS
Clean off the original thermal compound. We recommend using isopropanol
alcohol.
Remove the protective film and place the the thermal pads on the correct
position on the PCB.
Apply the Phanteks Thermal Compound to the center of the GPU chip.
Make sure to remove the protective film on both sides of the thermal pads.
STEP 3. MOUNT THE WATER BLOCK
Secure the support bracket to the GPU block first.
Carefully position the water block onto the graphics card. Align the mounting
holes on the PCB with the holes on the water block.
Secure the water block with 4 M2.5x5mm screws and washers to the PCB.
Secure the Support Bracket with the original cooler screw.
Make sure to lay the GPU with the water block flat down without resting on the
PCI bracket.
STEP 4. APPLYING THERMAL PADS
Remove the protective film on both sides and place the thermal pads on the
correct position on the backplate.
STEP 5. INSTALL THE BACKPLATE
Carefully position the backplate onto the graphics card. Align the mounting
holes on the PCB with the holes on the backplate.
Secure the backplate with 8x M2.5x8mm and 2x M2.5x6mm flush screws to the PCB.
STEP 6. INSTALL INTO THE SYSTEM

Connect the D-RGB cable to the D-RGB strip in the water block.
All Phanteks D-RGB products can be daisy-chained together. -
Install the GPU into the system.

Install the waterloop and Stop Fittings
Always perform a leak test before providing power to any system components.
