How It Works

Sciaire Essential incorporates a 4-stage system to clean the air. A fan forces air through the unit from bottom to top.

  • Stage 1: Pre-Filter. Captures large particulate matters including dust, pollen and hair.
  • Stage 2: H13 True HEPA Filter. The true High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter captures particles as small as 0.3 microns in diameter.
  • Stage 3: Activated Carbon Filter. The activated carbon filter absorbs odors, gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Stage 4: Plasma Emitters. Plasma ions are how nature cleans the air. Plasma emitters send positive and negative ions into the air for purification, making the air clean and better to breathe.

Toubleshooting

Symptom Probable Cause/Solution
Purifier is starting to make noise with low air output. 3-in-1 HEPA filter

may be dirty or obstructed. Replace filter.
Purifier will not turn on.| Make sure plug is securely inserted into outlet. Check fuse or circuit breaker. Replace fuse with a time delay type or reset the circuit breaker.
Air coming from Purifier has a bad odor.| The first time you use the purifier, there may be a plastic smell. This is normal and should fade quickly. If there is a continuous bad odor or a burning smell, please turn off, disconnect the device and contact customer support.
Air quality isn’t improving.| Constant introduction of dirty air from surrounding areas may reduce the effectiveness of the Purifier. Close all exterior doors and windows.
Fan does not operate.| Ensure that the bottom cover is closed properly, and the filter is properly installed.
Fan speed does not change after selecting a new fan speed.| If fan speed does not change after a prolonged period of time after changing the setting contact customer support.
Purifier is very loud.| Ensure that there are no obstacles near the appliance and that it has a minimum of 12 inches (30 cm) of clearance around it for optimal operation.
Purifier won’t connect to the DH Lifelabs App.| You may need to manually connect your device to the app. Refer to page 7 of this manual or contact customer support for assistance.
Filter replacement indicator has not turned on within 12 months, or turned on before 12 monthes.| Filter replacement indicator is reminder for you to check the filter and will light up based on how much the air purifier has been used. If you don’t use your air purifier often, it will take longer to turn on. If you use your air purifier frequently, it will turn on sooner.
Air quality indicator ring always stays red.| The sensor may need to be cleaned (see page 9).
Air quality indicator ring reads good but the air quality is bad.| The air quality indicator functions through a PM2.5 sensor that reads the level of fine particles in the air. There may be another factor effecting the air quality in the room.
