Before you begin

  • When connecting this unit to a device that is compatible with the Deep Color, 4K, ARC and ear functions, use a “High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet” that displays the HDMI logo.
  • When connecting this unit to a device that is compatible with 8K and 4K 120Hz video, use a certified “Ultra High Speed HDMI cable”. If you use a different HDMI cable, the video may not display or other problems may occur.

  • The included sound calibration microphone stand is convenient for performing speaker calibration. Using your own tripod or the supplied Sound calibration microphone stand enables settings to be automatically configured to the optimum listening environment, providing exceptionally high performance.

Attach the included cable labels
The supplied cable labels include labels for the speaker and HDMI cables. Attach a cable label to each cable that matches the speakers and HDMI devices being connected, as shown below. This makes it easy to identify and properly connect the cables between your components.

Setup

  1.  Rotate the antennas
    Rotate the antenna upwards for the best possible reception. • The antennas are required for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions.
    Optional
    If you are connecting the AVR to a wired network, connect an Ethernet cable (not included) between the AVR and your router.
    Do not connect the Ethernet cable if you are connecting the AVR to a wireless network.

  2. Connect the power cord

  3. Connect the AVR to your TVDENON AVR-S770H Integrated Network Av Receiver - Rear panelUsing a high quality HDMI cable*, connect one end to the HDMI port labeled “eARC” or “ARC” on your TV. Connect the other end to the HDMI OUT TV port on your AVR.
    What is ARC and eARC?
    Audio Return Channel or “ARC” sends audio back to the AVR using the same HDMI cable that sends video from your AVR to your TV. This allows your AVR to process the sound from your TV’s built-in tuner and apps. TVs with an Enhanced Audio
    Return Channel or “eARC” port provide additional support for high bitrate molt channel audio (Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD and DTS:X). Please refer to your TV owner’s manual for details about eARC support for your particular model.

  • For 4K TVs, we recommend using an HDMI cable labeled “High Speed” and “with Ethernet” .

  • For BK TVs, we recommend using an HDMI cable labeled “Ultra High Speed”. 4. Turn on the TV 5.     1. Verify the connection
      Verify that you can see this screen on your TV. If this screen is not displayed, please go back and retry the steps again in the recommended sequence.
      • In case the unit was already setup back in time the Setup Assistant won’t start automatically and you only see the Denon logo on screen. In such case you can access the Setup Assistant by pressing SETUP on the remote control and selecting Setup Assistant from the menu.

    2. Follow the on-screen Setup Assistant
      The TV is now connected to the AVR.
      The Setup Assistant will walk you through connecting and configuring your speakers and components to your Denon AVR. Use the remote control and follow the instructions on the TV screen to complete the AVR settings using the Setup Assistant.

Firmware update

If you see this screen after completing Setup Assistant, select Update Now to make sure your new AVR is up to date with the latest firmware and features.

Download the mobile apps

Download both the “HEOS” app and the “Denon AVR Remote” app for the full home entertainment experience. The HEOS app is required to access on line music through your AVR.

For additional convenience, the AV receiver renames HDMI inputs automatically when connected or you can rename manually at your convenience.
Audyssey suite of room- correction technology
Denon AV receivers use the Odyssey suite of EQ software for simple, accurate setup and calibration. With the supplied Odyssey measuring microphone, Odyssey measures all the speakers in your home theater, and tunes the AV receiver to provide the smoothest, most optimal overall listening experience for your room. This AV receiver supports Odyssey MultEQ room-correction technology. The other supported Audyssey features are Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.

This iOS or Android control app allows you to control your AV receiver, such as changing inputs, sound modes, volume, store and retrieve Quick Selects, show AVR status, input and output signal information, change optional settings and so on. Once HEOS music is selected, the AVR remote app automatically switches to the HEOS app for seamless operation between two apps.
Works with Google Assistant
Start music in the HEOS app, then ask your Google Assistant to control volume, play, pause, skip tracks, mute, and unmute.

What is Covered
Except as specified below, this Warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship in this product occurring during the above warranty periods. The following are not covered by the Warranty: (I) Any product which is not distributed in the U.S.A. by Sound United, LLC (DENON). (2) Any product which is not purchased in the U.S.A. from an authorized DENON dealer. (Note: AUTHORIZED DENON DEALERS can be identified by DENON AUTHORIZED DEALER sticker displayed in the stores. lf you are uncertain as to whether a dealer is a DENON AUTHORIZED DEALER, please contact DENON as listed below). (3) Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed. (4) Damaged deterioration or malfunction resulting from: a) Accident, act of nature, abuse, misuse, neglect, unauthorized product repair, opening of or modification or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product. b) Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by DENON.
c) Any shipment of the product (claim must be presented to carrier). (5) llamas subject to wear from normal usage (tape heads, cartridges, stylus, battery, etc.). (6) Periodic check-ups which do not disclose any defect. (7) Use of the product outside the U.S.A. (8) Damaged magnetic tape or CD/DVD/BD discs. What We Will Pay For
If during the applicable warranty period from the date of original consumer purchase your DENON product is found to be defective by DENON, DENON will repair, or al its option, replace with new, reconditioned or equivalent model, such defective product without charge for pans or labor.
How to Obtain Warranty Performance
If your unit ever needs service, it may be taken or shipped to any authorized DEN ON service station or Sound United, LLC (DEN ON) (if you are uncertain as 10 whether a service station is DENON authorized, please visit our website at https://www.denon.com/en-us/support/servicecentersearch or contact DENON as listed below.) In all other cases, the following procedures apply whenever your unit must be transported for warranty service;

a. You are responsible for transporting your unit or arranging for its transportation.
b. If shipment of your unit is required; You must pay the initial shipping charges, but we will pay the return shipping charges if the repairs are covered by the Warranty.
c. WHEN RETURNJNG YOUR UNIT FOR WARRANTY SERVlCE A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL SALES SLIP MUST BE ATTACHED.
d. You should include the following: your name, address, daytime telephone number, model and serial number of the product and a description of the problem. In the case of a CD/DVD/BD Player, please enclose ONE (I) disc that the unit has failed with for test reasons. It will be returned with the unit.
