WBH S
Thank you for placing your trust in our company by purcha-sing the Weller PCB holder WBH / WBH S. Production was based on stringent quality requirements which guarantee the perfect operation of the device.
Caution!
Please read these Operating Instructions and the attached safety information carefully prior to initial operation. Failure to observe the safety regulations results in a risk to life and limb. The manufacturer shall not be liable for damage resulting from misuse of the machine or unauthorised alterations.
Description
The WBH PCB Holder was designed as the basic device for supporting PCBs. The extended version WBH S includes an additional tripod for the clip on the hot air hand piece WHA 3000. Furthermore, the PCB holder can also be provided with a bottom heater (WHP 3000 hot plate). The combined com-ponents create a professional repair system for PCBs with high-pole fine pitch components.
Optional devices/accessories
- WHA 3000P Hot Air Station
- WHA 3000V Hot Air Station for compressed air or nitrogen operation.
- WHP 3000 Infrared Hot Plate
Assembly WBH S
- Install stand column to WBH using mounting bolts (11).
- Clip in hot air hand piece (4) into holder (5) and secure using O-ring.
- Remove cover plate (12) and insert supply hose and then reinsert cover plate (12) into the groove.
- When using the WHA 3000 controllers: insert the enabling connector into the socket for the switchgear For operation with Hot Plate WHP 3000
- Slide the bottom heater (Hot Plate WHP 3000) from the front under the PCB holder, or place the PCB holder over the hot plate. Make electrical connections in accordance with the Operating Instructions for WHP 3000, WHA 3000P / WHA 3000V.
Operation
Once the clamping screws (10) have been released, the arms of the PCB holder can be moved and the PCB to be repaired can be inserted. By pushing both arms in x-direction and the PCB on the holder in y-direction, the component to be repaired is aligned with the hot air nozzle and / or bottom heater. Both arms are then secured again with the clamping screws (10). The use of the PCB stop (9) allows PCBs to be replaced in the exact position. The swivel lever (6) is used to lower and raise the soldering head. In lower position, the depth stop of the soldering head must be set with the knurled screw (7). When the soldering head (6) is lowered, the hot air nozzle (3) must only make light contact with the component and must not exert exces-sive pressure on the PCB. The soldering process is usually started with the hot air nozzle raised to preheat the system. A universal PCB repair of SM components requires effecting preheating of the PCB from below and targeted heating of the components to be repaired from above up to reflow tempe-rature, in conjunction with a reliable process control system. With the WHP 3000 hot plate, the temperature controlled, 2-zone, infrared bottom heating ensures fast heating and homogenous temperatures. The hot air top heater WHA 3000P / WHA 3000V with digital control electronics for temperature monitoring and air-volume control guarantees a finely metered thermal energy supply to the components.
