Product Usage Instructions
Click/Floating Floor Installation:
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, smooth, and free of dust and debris.
- Unroll the QuietWalk Max with the film side up and the fiber side down.
- Make sure the underlayment seams run perpendicular to the long dimension of the floor covering.
- Position the underlayment with a minimum 4-inch separation.
Double-Glue Installation
- Double-Glue-Down installations are approved with floor coverings that are a minimum of 4mm in thickness.
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, smooth, and free of dust and debris.
- Unroll the QuietWalk Max with the film side up and the fiber side down.
- Make sure the underlayment seams run perpendicular to the long dimension of the floor covering.
- Position the underlayment with a minimum 2-inch separation.

PREMIUM UNDERLAYMENT & WATER DEFENSIVE BARRIER
GENERAL INFORMATION
PRODUCT MAY BE INSTALLED OVER:
- QuietWalk Max may be used over any subfloor approved by the finished floor covering manufacturer
- Suitable with Radiant Heat Systems
RECOMMENDED USES:
- Residential applications above, on, and below grade
- Floating Vinyl Plank and Tile, Laminate, and Wood Floors
- Commercial double glue applications (4mm or thicker floor covering)
- Interior use in dry, heated areas
SUBFLOOR AND PREPARATION:
- All wood and concrete subfloors must be flat within 1/8” over a 6’ span, or 3/16” over a 10’ span. All areas must be checked prior to installation
- All subfloors must be flat, clean, smooth, and dry
- Sand any rough surfaces and/or uneven joists
- Fill any cracks in concrete or panel joints wider than 1/8” using a recommended patch/leveling product
- For installation over concrete slabs, refer to flooring manufacturer’s recommendations for moisture tolerances
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
CLICK/FLOATING FLOOR INSTALLATION:
- Be sure the subfloor is clean, smooth, and free of dust and debris.
- Unroll the QuietWalk Max and flip it over to ensure that the film side is up (fiber side down).
- Make sure the underlayment seams run perpendicular to the long dimension of the floor covering.
- Underlayment must be positioned with a minimum 4” separation between the seams of the underlayment and the seams of the floor covering.
- Trim the perimeter edges of the QuietWalk Max ¼” from all walls and perimeter edges.
- Butt seams together and seal using the factory attached lip and tape system.
- For seams that do not have the lip and tape feature, use a good quality duct tape, at least 2” wide, to seal the seams.
- Install the floor covering according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
DOUBLE-GLUE INSTALLATION
- Double-Glue-Down installations are approved with floor coverings that are a minimum of 4mm in thickness.
- Be sure the subfloor is clean, smooth, and free of dust and debris.
- Unroll the QuietWalk Max and flip it over to ensure that the film side is up (fiber side down).
- Make sure the underlayment seams run perpendicular to the long dimension of the floor covering.
- Underlayment must be positioned with a minimum 2” separation between the seams of the underlayment and the seams of the floor covering.
- Remove the lip portion of the lip and tape system with a utility knife and discard.
- Remove the tape strip cover of the lip and tape system and discard.
- Trim to fit the QuietWalk Max into the target areas leaving a ¼” gap from all walls and perimeter edges.
- Move the trimmed-to-fit underlayment to the side and apply the adhesive.
- Apply a recommended pressure sensitive adhesive using the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended trowel size.
- Once the adhesive has flashed (dried/tacky to the touch) place the trimmed-to-fit underlayment into the adhesive.
- Butt seams together and apply 2” wide clear packaging tape centered over each seam.
- Roll the QuietWalk Max underlayment into the adhesive using a 75lb-100lb roller.
- Mark starting lines on the underlayment for placement of floor covering.
- Apply the floor covering manufacturer’s recommended adhesive using their recommended trowel size.
- Install the floor covering according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
MECHANICALLY FASTENED INSTALLATION:
- Be sure the subfloor is clean, smooth, and free of dust and debris.
- Unroll the QuietWalk Max and flip it over to ensure that the film side is up (fiber side down).
- Make sure the underlayment seams run perpendicular to the long dimension of the floor covering.
- Underlayment must be positioned with a minimum 4” separation between the seams of the underlayment and the seams of the floor covering.
- Trim the perimeter edges of the QuietWalk Max ¼” from all walls and perimeter edges.
- Butt seams together and seal using the factory attached lip and tape system.
- For seams that do not have the factory attached lip and tape system, taping of seams can be done but is not necessary in mechanically fastened applications.
- Install the floor covering according to the manufacturer’s instructions
