Precautions for use

  •  Always switch the player off before connecting other devices o it
  • Never move the player while a disc is playing. Doing so could scratch or break the disc and damage the player’s intimal components.
  • Do not place water-filled vases or small metal objects on the player.
  • Never poke your fingers into the disc tray.
  • Never place anything other than the disc in the disc tray.
  • External interference – e.g. lightning or static electricity — can affect the product’s operation. In the event of interference, press the POWER button to switch the DVD player off and then on again, or unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and then plug it in again. The product will function normally again.
  • Always remove the disc and switch the player off after use.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet if you do not intend to use the player for an extended period.
  • If you need to clean a disc, wipe it in a straight movement from the center toward the edge.

Disc storage
Take care to avoid damaging your discs, as the data they contain is very sensitive to environmental conditions.

  • Avoid exposing discs to direct sunlight.
  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place.
  • Store discs vertically.
  • Keep in a clean dust case or sleeve.

Setup menu How to configure the player
Menu
  1. DMain menu: Use the left and right arrow ( €/ buttons to move the cursor SRS ( (o highiight the header of the main menu’s submenu.
  1. Submenu Press PLAY to enter the submenu. Pressing the < button exits the submenu and returns you to the main menu. Press the A/’¥ buttons to browse the various submenu options. (3/Option menu Select the option that you want to configure and then press PLAY or » to enter the option’s setup menu. Use the A/ buttons to select the required setting and then press PLAY to enable t. Pressing < returns you to the submenu.

TV Display:
You can adjust the screen format (aspect ratio) according to the type of TV that you use.

  • 4:3 Ps: The central section of anamorphic widescreen images is visible on a 4:3 TV, but the left and right edges are truncated.
  • 4:3 Lb: Anamorphic widescreen images are visible in their entirety on a 4:3 TV, but there are black bands at the top and bottom of the screen.
  • 16:9 : Select this option if you are connecting the player to a widescreen TV. However, you will not be able to view DVDs recorded in 4:3 as complete 16:9 images even if you select this option.

Angle Mark

ON: The screen will show the angle mark icon. (If an angle option is available).
OFF:
The screen will not display the Angle Mark.
NOTE: Not all discs contain above features. The above features are disc dependent.

OSD Language
Select your preferred language for the onscreen display and setup menu

Audio:
Selects the preferred language for DVD soundtracks.

  1. The selected language is assigned high priority and can therefore be adopted automatically when the player begins playing a disc.
  2. Languages vary between discs, depending on the DVD disc. You can also select altemative languages by pressing the AUDIO button on the remote control handset.

Screen Saver:
ON: If the player remains idle for more than a few minutes, an animated image (known as a screensaver) is displayed. The purpose of this function is to protect your TV screen.
OFF: If you disable this option, the player will not display the screensaver image. Note:
The player automatically disables the screensaver function during playback.

Last Memory:
ON: The player can automatically begin playing the disc (DVD or CD) from the point where you last
enabled this function.
OFF: If you disable this function, the player will always play discs from the start.

L-MONO: Playback of Left channel audio only.

Use this mode to level all sound channels to ensure even sound levels.

TV Type
Used for settings the Video format output if the player is connected to an external display.

  • PAL: Video output is PAL only.
  • AUTO: Video output is as per source material.
  • NTSC: Video output is NTSC only.
    ( Note: This should be set without disc in the player.)

Audio subtitle and disc menu
Sets the default audio,sublitle and disc menu language of DVDs played on this player. Note: Audio, Subtitle and Disc Menu settings are subject the availability of your selection on the DVD.

Default:
Select “Default” in preference page to make the setting return to the factory- set mode.

Troubleshooting

In the event of a technical problem, check the following points before taking the player to the after-sales service. 1f you are unable to cure the problem by following our advice, contact your dealer or repair center. WARNING: Never attempt to repair this appliance yourself.

The POWER light
does not come on| The power cord is not plugged in| Plug the power cord into a wall outlet
No picture| You have not selected the video input connected to your TV| Select the appropriate video input format on your TV, in order to receive the player’s output signals
The video cable is not connected correctly| Fully insert the plugs on the video cable into the corresponding jacks
No sound| The audio cable is not connected correctly| Fully insert the plugs on the audio cable into the corresponding jacks.
You have not selected the correct audio output| Select the correct audio output in the setup menu
Distorted picture| The disc is dirty.| Remove and clean the disc
The player is in Cue or Review mode.| Some distortion may occur during Cue and Review operations. This is normal.
Flickering or unstable brightness| Disruption caused by a copy protection system.| Connect the player directly to your TV
The player does not operate| There is no disc in the player| Load a disc
Incompatible disc| Load a compatible disc (check the disc’s format and color signal coding standard).
The disc has been loaded upside down| Check that the disc is correctly positioned
The disc is not correctly positioned in the tray| Check that the disc is correctly positioned
The disc is dirty.| Clean the disc
The player is not configured correctly| Use the setup menu to modify the setup
Parental control mode is active| Disable the parental control function or change the restriction level
