RGC HL4-9k Guide Posts
Product Information: HL4-9k Guide Post
The HL4-9k Guide Post is a product manufactured by REIMANN & GEORGER CORPORATION Marine Products. It is designed to be installed on boat lifts to provide landmarks for positioning the boat correctly on the lift. The guide posts can be installed at the rear of the lift, at the front, or both. They serve to limit the boat’s motion in the event of gentle contact between the boat and guide post. It is important to note that excessive force from a collision between the boat and the guide posts can cause damage to the boat, guide posts, and/or lift. Care should be taken to avoid hard collisions.
Installation
- Pre-install captured nuts (4) and set screws (5) in guide post socket (2). Do not tighten down set screws yet.
- Install the guide post socket (2) in the bunk, to the rear of the liftarm pin, with hardware (6) and (7).

Installation
Guide posts can be installed at the rear of the lift, at the front, or both. Guide posts provide landmarks to help the pilot position the boat correctly on the lift. Guide posts can limit the boat’s motion in the event of gentle contact between boat and guide post. However, be careful not to allow the boat to collide hard with the guide posts. Excessive force can cause the boat lift to move, and could damage the boat, guide posts, and/or lift.
Attachment to Bunks
At each corner of the lift, the guide post attachment location is the pair of
½” holes REAR of the liftarm pin, as shown on the cover of this manual.
Installing the guide posts forward of the liftarm pin will cause the lift to
bind during operation, which may damage the lift and guide posts.
- Pre-install captured nuts (4) and set screws (5) in guide post socket (2). Do not tighten down set screws yet.
- Install the guide post socket (2) in the bunk, to the rear of the liftarm pin, with hardware (6) and (7).
Guide Posts and Adjustment
- Slide the aluminum guide post (1) into the socket.
- Install cap (12) on PVC tube (11) and slide foam cover (8) over both. Set tube on the end of each guide post (1).
- Slide each guide post inward or outward to the required position.
- Drive set screws into guide post to lock it in place.
Width between guide posts, as measured from the inside to inside of foam tube:
- 52” minimum, with cutting guide post rectangular tube to a shorter length
- 90” minimum without modification
- 122” maximum, with HL liftarms set to 34.5” on center
- 132” maximum, with HL liftarms set to 44.5” on center
Ensure clearance between rear guide posts and lift/canopy legs before operating.
