General Instructions
The machine may be used only completely installed with the intended transport
or tilting trolley.
Use only stirring rods recommended by the manufacturer.
Thread and front surfaces must be kept clean.
Safety Instructions
- Do not use the tool for mixing materials either in danger of explosion (petrol, diluent).
- Modifications of the tool are prohibited.
- Always check the tool, cable and plug before use. Have damages only repaired by specialists. Only insert the plug into the socket when the tool switch is OFF.
- Ensure a safe state of the machine.
- When the machine runs outside, always use a protection switch (30 mA max.) against fault current.
- The machine should only run under supervision of somebody.
- Pull the plug and switch the machine off if it is not under supervision, e.g. in case of setting up and stripping down the machine, in case of voltage drop or when fixing or mounting an accessory.
- Switch the machine off if it stops for whatever reason. This way, you avoid that it starts suddenly and not under supervision.
- Always lead the cable to the back, away from the machine.
- Do not use the machine if a part of the housing is damaged or in case of damages on the switch, the connecting cable or plug.
- Power tools have to be inspected by a specialist in regular intervals.
- Do not touch rotating parts.
- Do not try to reach into the container with long items.
- Only take out samples of the material when the machine has come to a complete standstill and when the mains plug is disconnected.
- Be careful with long hair.
- Only work with close-fitting clothes.
- Do not operate the machine if you are tired or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Persons under 16 years of age are not allowed to use the machine.
- Never clean the machine with a hose or a high-pressure cleaner – risk of electric shock!
- When working with this machine wear ear protectors, goggles, a dust mask, protective gloves and protective boots.
For further safety instructions, refer to the enclosure.
Assembly of the Device
The mixing station is delivered nearly ready for operation.
Before the motor unit is installed in the station, the mixing paddle has to be
mounted. The machine needs to be disconnected from mains power for that.
Install the motor unit on the chassis as shown in Fig. 1 and screw the mixing
paddle into the motor spindle.
Afterwards, rotate the whole motor unit by 180 degrees and lock it with the wing screw (see Fig. 2).
Transport of the Device
The mixing station has four big, sturdy transport wheels which can be rotated by 360 degrees. These facilitate an easy transport of the station and optimal output of the mixed material.
To secure the machine against unintended rolling, two wheels are equipped with a parking brake (see Fig. 3). The parking brake needs to be locked right after the mixing station has been put into place.
Electrical Connection
Before starting the machine check the correspondence between voltage and frequency according to the data mentioned on the identification plate. Voltage differences from + 6 % and – 10 % are allowed.
The FloorMix 2300 is made in protection class I.
Only use extension cables with a sufficient cross-section. A cross-section
(min. 2.5 mm²) which is too small could lead to an excessive power loss and to
an overheating of motor and cable.
Use
Preselection of the speed:
The speed can be set in four stages.
This is done with the help of two gear stages and two electrically-switchable
motor stages.
Prepare mixing as follows:
Before mixing, please make sure that the swivel unit is locked tightly on the
base; that the parking brake is locked; and that the mixing station is secured
against unintended rolling.
Do not use the machine on uneven surfaces.
Start the mixing station always in empty condition or only filled with water.
Always fill with water first. Fill the mixing material through the feed chute
(2) while the machine is running.
We recommend the use of speed stage 1 or 3 to start mixing and switching to stage 2 or 4 when all components have been filled in.
Do not leave the FloorMIx 2300 unattended during operation.
Avoid the spraying of mixed material.
O bserve the processing directives of the material manufacturers.
! IMPORTANT!
The use of chemical products or solvents can impair the properties of the
mixing bucket and the machine.
Before using the FloorMix 2300, check that the products to be mixed are
compatible with the properties of the machine.
For mixing with little dust, a vacuum cleaner (dust class M) is connected to the corresponding connection nozzle (6).
Pouring out mixed material
Caution!
It is imperative to disconnect the mains plug before pouring out mixed
material.
Hold on to the handles (3 +4) of the FloorMix 2300 with both hands and move it to the place where you want to pour out the mixed material.
Unlock the mixing station to til it it.
To do that, press pedal (8) with your foot.
Hold handle (3) with both hands while doing that.
Now tilt the mixer bucket with the handle (3), until material runs over the
spout.
Always hold on to the unit tightly with both hands while unlocking and tilting
it.
To distribute the mixed material over a larger area, move the FloorMix 2300 into the desired direction. Please pay attention that you are moving away from the newly-distributed material. This way, the wheels will not roll into the mixed material.
After the mixing bucket has been emptied, raise it up again until the foot
pedal (8) can be locked again.
Never lift the mixing bucket into the bucket insert if it is full.
Tool Protection
Wrong handling can cause damages on the tool.
Therefore, please always observe the following instructions:
Electronic: In case of overload, the electronic facility will deenergize
the tool. After discharge and reengagement one can drill again.
Thermal: In case of permanent overload, a thermocouple protects the motor
against destruction. In this case, the tool switches off automatically and can
only be restarted after a certain cooling period (approx. 2 minutes). The
cooling period depends on the heating of the motor winding and the ambient
temperature.
Tool Change
Attention!
Before any work on the tool, disconnect the plug from the mains!
When inserting the tool, you could catch your hands. For this reason, always
wear protective gloves for changing the tool.
To change the tool, you can pull the motor unit of the FloorMix 2300 out of
the chassis and rotate it by 180 degrees (see page 7 – Assembly of the device)
To loosen the mixing paddle (7), use an open-end wrench SW 24. Hold with an
open-end wrench SW 27 on the work spindle.
Care and Maintenance
Before the beginning of maintenance or repair works you have to disconnect the plug from the mains.
Repairs may be executed only by appropriately qualified and experienced personnel. After every repair the machine has to be inspected by an electric specialist. Due to its design, the machine needs a minimum of care and maintenance. However, the following points always have to be observed:
- Keep the machine and the controls clean and functional.
- To clean the mixing tools, rotate the motor unit by 180 degrees (see page 7 – Assembly of the device). Please pay attention that no water can get into the motor during cleaning.
- Always keep the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
- During work, please pay attention that no particles get inside the machine.
- Use only the original mixing bucket from Eibenstock as replacement for a worn mixing bucket. Correct function is guaranteed only with this mixing bucket.
- In case of failure, a repair has to be carried out by an authorised service workshop.
