Product Information:

ROOMSIDE SERIES AR80MB

The ROOMSIDE SERIES AR80MB is a fan and light combination unit designed for installation in residential spaces. It provides quiet and efficient operation, long life, and an attractive appearance. The fan features a permanently lubricated motor that never needs oiling. The unit is equipped with a blower assembly that includes the motor and impeller.

This product is suitable for use in various rooms of the house, excluding cooking areas. It is important to ensure proper installation and maintenance for optimal performance.

Cleaning & Maintenance

To maintain the performance of the fan, it is recommended to remove the grille and vacuum the interior of the unit using the dusting brush attachment. The motor does not require oiling, but if excessive or unusual noises are heard from the motor bearings, it is advisable to replace the blower assembly.

Operation

The fan and light can be operated using separate switches. An on/off switch or speed control can be used to operate the fan, while a separate switch is needed for the light. Refer to the Wiring Diagram section for detailed instructions.

Safety

It is essential to follow safety precautions during installation and use to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

Installation

  • Step 1: Start by removing the blower and all packing material from the fan housing.
  • Step 2: If required, attach a pair of flanges to the housing by snapping both flange pieces under the rolled-over edge of the housing on all four sides.

  • Step 4: Mount the housing to the ceiling structure.
  • Step 5: Connect a 4-inch round duct to the housing for proper ventilation.
  • Step 6: Attach the damper/duct connector to the fan housing by pushing it through the opening from the inside of the housing. Engage the tabs and secure with the provided screw.
  • Step 7: Install the blower by securing it with the two screws provided and plugging it into the black receptacle.
  • Step 8: Connect the wiring by using an appropriate UL approved connector to connect the power cable to the housing. Follow the wiring connections as shown in the Wiring Diagram section. Reinstall the wiring panel and secure it with the screw from the parts bag.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
For quiet and efficient operation, long life, and attractive appearance – remove grille and vacuum interior of unit with the dusting brush attachment.
The motor is permanently lubricated and never needs oiling. If the motor bearings are making excessive or unusual noises, replace the blower assembly (includes motor and impeller).

ALL INSTALLATIONS

Start here.

IMPORTANT – The ducting from this fan to the outside of the building has a strong effect on the air flow, noise and energy use of the fan. Use the shortest, straightest duct routing possible for best performance, and avoid installing the fan with smaller ducts than recommended. Insulation around the ducts can reduce energy loss and inhibit mold growth. Fans installed with existing ducts may not achieve their rated airflow.

OPTION – To mount housing anywhere between ceiling framing: Use optional Hanger Bar Kit (sold separately from local distributors or website). Follow mounting instructions included with kit.

  1. Remove blower and all packing material from fan housing.

  2. Remove wiring panel from fan housing (if already installed).

  3. A pair of flanges may be attached to housing if desired or required.
Snap both flange pieces under rolled-over edge of housing (all four sides).

  4. Attach grille brackets to housing.
