Product Usage Instructions
- Before the first use, remove all promotional stickers, packaging remnants, and inserts.
- Ensure the appliance is connected to an earthed socket with the correct voltage.
- Check the appliance for any defects or damages before each use.
- Hold the fondue bowl by the handles and allow it to cool down after use.
- Do not position the appliance next to a wall or corner, and keep inflammable materials away from it.

Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep
this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons
familiar with these instructions.
Connection to the mains supply
The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions
- In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please contact our customer service department by phone or email (see appendix).
- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the base with water and do not immerse it in water.
- Clean the crêpe plate in warm soapy water.
- Clean the fondue bowl, the splashguard collar and the fondue forks in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher.
- Clean the flip-over tool and the spatula in warm soapy water.

- The heating surface on the base unit must be protected from splashing water.
- Warning! Misuse of the appliance can lead to injuries.
- Warning! Some touchable surfaces are hot during and after use.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Do not use or store the appliance outdoors.
- To prevent hot oil/fat from spilling, place the appliance on a stable, heatresistant work surface impervious to splashes and stains and with sufficient surrounding space.
- Only hold the fondue bowl by the handles and always let it cool down after use.
- Do not position the appliance next to a wall or corner, and ensure that no inflammable materials are stored near it.
- This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as
- in staff kitchens in shops, offices and other similar working environments,
- in agricultural working environments,
- by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation,
- in bed-and breakfast type environments.
- Children under 8 must not be permitted to operate this appliance.
- Older children of 8 or more, however, may operate the appliance but only if they are under constant supervision.
- The appliance may only be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
- Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
- Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance.
- Warning! Keep the appliance away from young children (0 – 8 years), especially during use or when cooling down.
- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
- Only switch on the appliance when the filled fondue bowl or crêpe plate has been placed on the heating surface.
- Deep-frozen food must never be used for making fondue, but should the thawed first and, if necessary, dabbed dry.
- To avoid damage to the coating of the crêpe plate when removing the crêpes, only use non-abrasive utensils.
- Oil/fat may catch fire when overheated. In this case, pull out the plug and extinguish the fire by placing a lid or a metal tray onto the bowl.
- Never pour water on hot or burning oil/fat!
- Caution: Never attempt to carry or move the appliance when it is hot. Spilled hot oil/fat may cause severe injuries or burns.
- Only use the fondue bowl with the base unit provided.
- Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction,
- when there is no supervision, and
- before cleaning the appliance.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
How to use the appliance
Before first use
- Carefully remove all packaging materials and stickers from the appliance.
- Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the base unit and crêpe plate with a damp cloth.
- Heat up the appliance, with the crêpe plate in place, for about 10 minutes, without any dough, to eliminate the smell typically encountered when first switching on (a small amount of smoke may be noticeable). For that reason, adequate ventilation should be ensured by opening windows or balcony doors.
- Clean the appliance including all individual parts afterwards, as described in Cleaning and care.
Operation
Fondue
- Put the oil/fat, broth, cheese or chocolate into the fondue bowl. Note the fill level information given below.
- Place the fondue bowl on the heating surface.
- Fit the splash guard.
- Connect the unit to the mains.
Vegetable/meat fondue with oil or fat
- Note: The fill amount must be between the MIN and MAX markings.
- Turn the thermostat to its MAX position.
- Pre heat the oil or fat for about 25 minutes before putting food into the bowl.
Vegetable/meat fondue with broth
- Note: The fill amount must be between the MIN and MAX markings.
- Turn the thermostat to its MAX position.
- Preheat the broth for about 10 minutes before putting food into the bowl.
Cheese fondue
- The fill amount must be between 200 g minimum and 400 g maximum.
- Turn the thermostat to its MAX position and stir the cheese continuously until it has melted.
- Once it has done so, turn the thermostat control back to a medium position.
Chocolate fondue
- The fill amount must be between 200 g minimum and 500 g maximum.
- Turn the thermostat to its MAX position. Break the chocolate into pieces and stir continuously until it has melted.
- Once it has done so, turn the thermostat control back to a position slightly above MIN.
- Skewer the food on the fondue forks, immerse them deep into the fondue bowl and fix the forks in the splashguard collar.
- When cooking is finished, turn the thermostat back to MIN and disconnect the appliance from the mains.
- Let the appliance cool down and clean after each use as described under ‘Cleaning and care’.
Preparing crêpes
- Place the crêpe plate on the heating surface.
- Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket.
- Turn the temperature control to the desired position.
- The indicator light comes on.The appliance is now preheating.
- Once the desired temperature has been reached, the indicator light switches off.
- Put a small amount of the crêpe mix on the crêpe plate, and then use the smoothing tool to spread out the mix evenly by swirling it round with a circular motion.
- The indicator light will periodically switch off and on again during use.This indicates the heating process of the appliance.The desired temperature is thereby maintained.
- Let the crêpe cook until the surface is no longer liquid and it can be moved easily.
- Slide the flip-over-tool under the crêpe, lift it up and turn it over.
- Cook the other side for a short time until done. To check whether it is ready, use the flip-over-tool to lift it slightly.
- The crêpe should be clearly cooked, but should not be browned; that way it is easy to fold or roll up.
- Remove the crêpe from the plate.
- Put your topping or spread onto the crêpe and fold or roll it.
- If the browning level is not to your satisfaction, use the control to adjust the temperature before cooking another crêpe.
- If no further crêpes are to be cooked, turn the temperature control back to its MIN position. Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
Useful tips
- The smoothing tool should be moistened a little to prevent the crêpe mix sticking to it.
- W hen attempting the first crêpes, it is advisable to use a little more mix, as thicker crêpes are easier to handle.
Recipes
Sweet crêpes
- Ingredients:
- 250 g flour
- 4 eggs
- 500 ml milk
- 1 tbs vanilla sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- rum essence
- 50 g melted butter
Preparation
Use a hand blender to mix the flour, eggs, milk, vanilla sugar and salt. Add
the rum essence and the melted butter and whisk until a fine, smooth mix is
achieved. Let the dough rest for about 1 hour before baking the crêpes.
Delicious galettes
- Ingredients:
- 250 g buckwheat flour
- 1 egg
- 350 ml milk
- 350 ml cold water
- 1 tsp salt
- 50 g melted butter
Preparation
Use a hand blender to mix the flour, egg, milk, water and salt. Add the melted
butter and whisk until a fine, smooth mix is achieved. Let the dough rest for
about 1 hour before baking the crêpes.
Cleaning and care
- Before cleaning the appliance, always make sure that the plug has been removed from the wall socket, and allow the appliance to cool down.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the base with water and do not immerse it in water.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
- Remove the crêpe plate and clean it in warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly afterwards.
- Before removing the fondue bowl, wait until it has completely cooled down.
- Do not pour used fat or oil in a sink. The cold oil/fat may be discarded with the domestic refuse.
- Clean the fondue bowl, the splash-guard collar and the fondue forks in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher.
- Hint: When making cheese fondue, cheese will unavoidably stick to the bowl. Fill the bowl with hot water after use, let it stand overnight and then clean it as described above.
- Clean the flip-over tool and the spatula in warm soapy water.
- The base unit may be cleaned with a slightly damp, lintfree cloth.
