OPERATION

During the day, the solar panel converts sunlight into rechargeable electricity that is stored in the device’s battery. The light turns on automatically at nightfall by using the energy stored in the battery. The period in which the solar light will remain lit depends on the placement of the solar cell, weather conditions, and the amount of solar energy available. In normal conditions of full sun exposure, the lighting time is approximately6 hours.

INSTALLATION AND LOCATION

Tools required: Spirit level, drill, hammer, screwdriver and pen.
CAUTION: Before drilling, ensure there are no pipes or cables behind the intended drilling point.

  1. Install the product in a location where you wish to have extra lighting at night. The ideal location is an outdoor area where the solar cell will receive direct sunlight for at least 6 hours every day.
  2. A shaded area will affect the battery’s longevity and the product will run the risk of not staying lit for an extended period of time. The solar cell should not be installed too close to lamps or other important sources of light overnight because these could diminish the solar effectiveness.
  3. Once you have found a suitable location, install the product 6′ 7” to 9′ 10” (2 M to 3 M) above the ground and on a flat surface that can support the product. Make sure that the surface is secure enough to withstand wind and vibrations.
  4. Using the mounting plate as a template and a spirit level, drill 2 holes into the surface and insert the anchors. Tap gently with a hammer if necessary.
  5. Turn the screws into the anchors using a screwdriver. Do not screw in.
  6. Place the holes on the screw heads and gently press down the wall mounting bracket if necessary.

USE

  • Turn the switch to “ON” and place the solar cell in a sunny location.
  • Before using the product for the first time, let it charge for a full day for the best results. The battery will not be completely charged at the time of purchase.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the product does not turn on automatically after 6 hours of charging, check the following:

  • Make sure that the battery is correctly positioned.
  • Make sure that the device has been placed in a sunny location and that the solar cell is facing the sun.
  • Make sure that other light sources are not too close to the solar cell.
  • Make sure that the solar cell surface is clean.
  • Replace the battery if necessary.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

  • If the product stops working after being used for an extended period (around 18 months), this means that the battery needs to be replaced. USE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES ONLY.
  • Battery specification: 1 x 18650 1200 mAh-Li-ion
  • The LED bulbs will work for over 100,000 hours. You will never need to replace them.

Appliances and batteries must not be put in the household garbage, they must be recycled.

FAQ
