Note: Multiple reels should be wired in parallel, not in series

Information to consider before install:
  • Map layout abnd orientation before making any cuts.
  • Check polarity will be correct on loyout.
  • Allow 20-30mm extra trunking if being used so end caps can be fitted correctly.
  • Avoid mechanical stress on the tape, for example any sharp bends that may cause kinks in the tape.
  • Make sure surface is clean and smooth to get a strong bond.
  • Cut length 70mm
Soldering

Lead wires can be soldered on to the tape using the designated soldering pads, polarity MUST be checked before soldering. The maximum soldering time is 3 seconds and the solder temperature must not exceed 662°F (350°C). Once soldered the connection can be shrink wrapped using a heat gun(both not provided).

Quick Connect

The tape can connected using a Quick connector(not included see website). To apply peel back the back off the tape roughly 15-20mm and place it in open connector making sure the polarity is correct and the contact pads are engaged, once correct close the connector.

Surface preperation

If the tape is being applied directly to a surface make sure it is clean and smooth to get a goobond with the tape. If not use a alcohol solution to wipe down the surface and leave to dry. If the surface is not smooth then paint or primer can be added to help the bond.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. A qualified electrician, in accordance with IEE wiring regulations should carry out connection to mains wiring.
  2. Electrical Class I or II luminaire – see wiring diagrams below
  3. Ensure that the rated voltage and frequency requirements are compatible with the available mains supply.
  4. Cleaning of reflectors and lenses should be carried out using clean, soft and lint free cloths and anti-static cleaning fluid
  5. Do not carry out high voltage insulation test, i.e. 500/1000v this may damage internal components.
