NOTE
Always carry out a test before using the product on the main surface. The effect achieved depends on many factors, such as: substrate preparation, tools used, application technique. The manufacturer is not responsible for improper use of the product.
It is recommended to decorate surfaces with products from one production batch. Otherwise the contents of all packages should be mixed together in one container.
The product should be stored in a tightly closed original container at 5 – 25 °C and out of the reach of children. Do not expose it to sunlight. Protect from freezing.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The surface should be clean, degreased, completely smooth, uncracked and
stable.
Fresh cement and lime-cement plasters should be seasoned for at least 4 weeks.
Paint the surface with Decobase paint. It will create a base coat similar to the effect’s colour, reduce the consumption of Royal Silk and ensure the best possible final result. After drying, if there are any irregularities on the wall, gently sand them with fine sandpaper and dust off the wall.
Highly absorbent or not equally absorbent surfaces should be primed with suitable primer before applying Decobase. We recommend our PRIMACOL® DECORATIVE primer.
APPLICATION
After opening the Royal Silk bucket, stir the contents thoroughly. For colours: Caramel, Brown, Claret, Navy Blue, Bottle Green and Black – pour the appropriate amount of coloruant (see table below) into the Royals Silk R0 base and mix thoroughly.
Once the consistency of the paint is uniform, start the application using a Venetian trowel.
Start applying the product from the top corner of the wall and move diagonally, extending the decorated surface.
Work on small areas at a time, spreading the paint in different directions.
The thickness of the applied layer should not exceed 1 mm.
After a short time, return to the previously painted area (before it dries) and smooth it with the edge of a clean Venetian trowel, moving it in different directions. This will bring out metallic reflection’s characteristic of Royal Silk.
If necessary, after drying (approx. 4 hours), apply a second coat of Royal Silk, also starting from the top of the wall, but from the opposite corner.
Once the painting is complete, leave the wall for about 24 hours until
completely dry.
The paint coat obtains full strength properties (washing and scrubbing
resistance) after 28 days.
