Polaris Feature Wall Paint

NOTE
Always test the product before use on the main surface. The effect obtained depends on many factors, such as substrate preparation, tools used, application technique. The manufacturer is not responsible for improper use of the product. Tools should be washed frequently during work to avoid scratches on the decorated surface caused by the residue of the dried product. It is recommended to decorate the surface with products from one production batch. Otherwise, the contents of all packages must be mixed together
in one container. The product should be stored in a tightly closed original container at 5 – 30 °C and out of the reach of children. Do not expose it to sunlight. Protect from freezing.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate should be clean, degreased, even, stable and uncracked.
Fresh cement and lime-cement plasters should be seasoned for at least 4 weeks.
Paint the surface with Decobase paint. It will create a base coat similar to the effect’s colour, reduce the consumption of Polaris and ensure the best possible final result. When dry, sand the wall gently with fine sandpaper and dust it off afterwards.
Highly absorbent or not equally absorbent surfaces should be primed with a suitable primer before applying Decobase. We recommend our PRIMACOL® DECORATIVE primer.

APPLICATION

After opening the Polaris bucket, stir the contents thoroughly.
Start applying the product from the top corner of the wall and move diagonally extending the decorated surface.
Apply the paint with a venetian trowel, spreading it in different directions.
Work on small areas at a time using the “wet-on-wet” method. The thickness of the applied layer should not exceed 1 mm.
Before the wall dries completely, smooth it with the edge of a clean venetian trowel in different directions. This will emphasise the Polaris effect, especially the satin reflections.
Repeat the process until the desired decorative effect is achieved.
When finished, leave the wall for about 24 hours, until completely dry.
If you find it necessary, you can apply a second coat of paint, also starting from the top of the wall, but from opposite corner.
