Photocell LR-TB5000CL
About these instructions
This user information describes the default settings for the LR-TB5000CL photocell when it is connected to the SH 100 or SH 300 barrier. The specified setting values are valid for standard applications!

1 .3 Intended use
The functions and settings described in these instructions are intended for
the following product:
– KEYENCE photocell LR-TB5000CL
Fitting and installation
Fitting and installation must be carried out by qualified specialized
personnel
▶ Attach the photocell to the barrier. Follow the fitting instructions
provided
▶ Connect the photocell to the barrier. Refer to the connection diagram.

4 .1 Control buttons

4 .2 Checking the basic settings
4 .3 Prerequisites
- Fitting to the barrier is completed
- The electrical connection between photocell and barrier has been made.
- The photocell display shows Start Config
▶ Use the MODE button to scroll.

▶ Check the two menus and the setting values. When you have checked the
setting values, End Config appears in the display.
▶ Press the SET button to complete the check and save the setting values.
Note
It is not possible to change saved basic settings afterwards. To do this, the
photocell has to be returned to its factory settings. See section 6.
4 .4 Light spot diameter
Check the setting value for the light spot diameter.
▶ Set a setting value of 4. This setting value corresponds to a 6 mm light
spot diameter.
▶ To do this, turn the adjusting screw on the back of the photocell.
4 .5 Settings for SH 100 / SH 300
Required setting values for the photocell when it is connected to barrier SH
100 or SH 300.
▶ Press the MODE button for approx. 3 seconds to open the Settings menu.
The photocell display shows Menu. The menu comprises 8 functions.
▶ To select the functions, press the MODE or DISP buttons.
▶ Press the SET button to open the Settings menu.
▶ To select the setting value, press the MODE or DISP buttons.
▶ Press the SET button to save the setting value.
For all 8 functions, the setting values must be checked and adjusted if
necessary .
▶ Check the setting values.
▶ Change the setting values if necessary.

When you have made all the settings, the display shows End.
▶ To save all settings, press the SET button.
4 .6 Determining and setting the distance
Distance D is the length of the laser beam. This monitors the area below the
barrier boom. The factory setting for the distance D is 500 (500 mm).
4 .6 .1 Determining the distance
▶ To determine the distance, place an object approx. 150 mm behind the end of
the barrier boom. The photocell calculates the distance automatically and the
value appears in the display. In the example, the distance is 4500 mm.
4 .6 .2 Setting the distance for Out1
In order for the photocell to function correctly, the determined distance must
be set for outputs Out1 and Out2.
▶ Set the distance for Out1 (example value 4500).
4 .6 .3 Setting the distance for Out2
▶ Set the distance for Out2. The procedure is the same as for Out1.
Button lock
Activating the button lock| ▶ Press the MODE button and the DISP button at the
same time for approx. 3 seconds.

Deactivating the button lock| ▶ Press the MODE button and the DISP button at
the same time for approx. 3 seconds.
Factory setting
Returning the photocell to the factory setting| ▶ Press the MODE button and
hold it down.
▶ Press the SET button 5 times in succession.
▶ Press the MODE button. Initialize? will appear. Select YES.
▶ Press the SET button. The photocell initializes and starts with the factory
setting.
