OS Compatibility

GAOMON M10K PRO Pen Tablet is NOT a standalone product. It can’t be used alone. It must connect to a laptop or desktop computer which runs Windows 7 or above version OS, or Mac 10.12 or above version OS. It doesn’t work with Chromes OS, or Linux Os.

Otherwise, M10K PRO can be compatible with smart phone which runs Android 6.0 or above version OS with OTG function. Meanwhile, no need to download tablet driver to your smart phone, connect the tablet to your smart phone directly is okay. It can’t be compatible with IOS at present.

How to set up M10K PRO ?

How to connect to computer?

Just connect M10K PRO to your computer with USB cable is ok.

How to connect to Android smart phone?

1. Please use Android phone/tablet in portrait mode.
2. Please make sure your phone/tablet OS is Android OS 6.0 or later, and supports OTG function.
3. For some models, you need to go phone or tablet “Settings” then enable “OTG” function.
4. You may need purchase a USB adapter to make GAOMON tablet connect with your Android phone/tablet. For example a Type-C to USB adapter, or Micro USB to USB adapter, depending on the USB type of your devices.

How to set up on Windows OS?

1. Close all art programs and anti-virus program first. Make sure there is no anti-virus program running in hidden box. (You can still run anti-virus program while the issue gets confirmed and fixed)
   

2. Download driver here: https://GAOMON.net/ and install the driver.
   

3. Install the driver.
   –Right-click the driver setup icon, whose file extension is ‘.exe’, in the installation file and select ‘Run as administrator’ from the dropdown list.
   (Run as an administrator before installation, not after installation.)
   
   

4. Don’t change the installation path while installing.
   

5. Ensure the cable is connected well.

6. After installing GAOMON Driver, please test whether the pen can move cursor like the mouse normally. If the pen can move cursor like mouse normally, you can customize express keys inside GAOMON Driver now.

7. Please download drawing programs online to use with GAOMON M10K PRO. Our tablets are compatible with most drawing software. Free software like Krita, Gimp, Fireplaca, Meidibang,
   Inscape, Blender,etc. Or paid software like Photoshop, Adobe, Illustrator, Clip studio paint, sketchbook, Sai version2, etc.

How to set up on Mac OS?

1. Close all art programs first.

2. Download driver here: https://GAOMON.net/
   

3. Install the driver.
   — Click the installation package —-Drag ‘GAOMON Tablet ‘ icon upon ‘Applications’ and hold on for a while until it enters in ‘Applications’ folder—- Double click ‘GAOMON Tablet’ and select ‘Open’ to run the driver. Now the GAOMON Driver isinstalled.
   
   If your Mac OS version are mac 10.14, 10.15, Mac Big sur or above OS, please kindly remember to give GAOMON Driver permission to normally function on your mac.
   If your Mac OS is lower than Mac 10.14, please skip following steps.
   1) After installation, press one of the tablets express keys OR use the pen to click the screen until it pops out a box ‘Accessibility Access’. Then click ‘Open System Preferences’ to bring out ‘Security & Privacy’ box. Please note! Don’t click “Deny”!
   
   2) Click the lock icon and input your password–>Tick ‘TabletDriverAgent’–> Click ‘＋’ and it will bring out another box.
   
   3) Go Applications–> find out ‘GAOMON Tablet’ and click ‘Open’
   
   4) Tick ‘Gaomon Tablet’ circled in red and click the lock icon. Then we can draw freely on the tablet.
   
   5) Now you get the permission to use GAOMON Tablet Driver on your Mac OS.

4. Replug all cables correctly and firmly.

5. After installing GAOMON Driver, please test whether the pen can move cursor like the mouse normally. If the pen can move cursor like mouse normally, you can customize express keys inside GAOMON Driver now.

6. Please download drawing programs online to use with GAOMON M10K PRO. Our tablets are compatible with most drawing software. Free software like Krita, Gimp, Fireplaca, Meidibang, Inscape, Blender,etc. Or paid software like Photoshop, Adobe, Illustrator, Clip studio paint, sketchbook, Sai version2, etc.

Windows Radial /Dial Function

1. Windows Radial
   The Ring is compatible with Windows Radial Controller Protocol. Windows Radial Function is enabled by default, therefore you don’t need to check any option to activate it.
   Long press the key on the centre of the Dial Controller to call up a tool menu, users can use Dial Controller to adjust the brush size, pick the color and scroll through the pages, etc.
   

2. Wheel mode
   Uncheck the option “Enable Wheel” to activate the Dial Mode. Press the middle button and three groups of functions appear at the bottom of the screen, which can be switched by clicking the middle button.
   Default setting: Canvas Zoom in/out, Brush Zoom in/out , Scroll up/down
   

Pen Issues & Solutions

How to do when GAOMON driver indicating ”No Device Detected/Device disconnected” and Pen not Working?

1. Please kindly note that it’s usually related to the USB connection. Please kindly make sure the USB cable is well connected between M10K PRO and computer.
2. Please change a different USB port on your computer to test.
3. Please test on another computer without GAOMON Driver installation. Let’s see whether the pen can move the cursor like the mouse on another computer.
4. If the issue remains, please kindly record a video to show above situation when you change another computer to GAOMON SERVICE. We will apply warranty and make everything right for you. Don’t worry!

How to do when the issue only happens in Clip Studio Paint?

1. Please set inside Clip Studio Paint according to following path. Preference –Tablet –Wintab Preference–Performance–Allocate to application–100%
2. If the issue remains, please try to reinstall GAOMON Driver. Make sure no other brands tablet driver installed on your computer please.

How to do when the issue only happens in GMIP?

1. Please set inside GIMP according to following path. GIMP–Edit–Input Devices–Mode: Screen (remember to select Screen Mode for all of three) –Save.
2. If the issue remains, please try to reinstall GAOMON Driver. Make sure no other brands tablet driver installed on your computer please.

How to do when the pen only lags in Photoshop?

1. Please try to reinstall GAOMON Driver. Make sure no other brands tablet driver installed on your computer please.
2. Please set inside Photoshop according to following path.
3. Edit–Preference– Uncheck ‘’Use Graphics Processor’’
4. Create a new canvas and zoom in it to 100%.
5. Click “Reset Brushes” in brush settings. (As following picture)
   

How to calibrate pen cursor?

1. Please set your computer under Duplicate Mode/Mirror Mode and test whether the issue remains. Let me know if it works properly under duplicate. Windows OS: Press ”windows+p” — choose ”Duplicate”. Mac Os: System Preference” — Choose “Displays”– Click “Arrangement” — Click the “Mirror Displayss”.

2. if the same issue still exists under Duplicate/Mirror mode, please try to calibrate during GAOMON Driver:
   –Please hold the pen more vertically when calibrate in driver. Don’t tilt the pen too much.
   –If still cannot get close as you want, try to click ”restore default” directly and don’t click 9 red points.

3. If the issue still happens, please kindly contact GAOMON SERVICE by email.

How to customize express key functions in GAOMON driver?

Please kindly note that express keys are substitute of keyboard keys. If keyboard keys can realize one function in a drawing program, the GAOMON tablet express keys can make it too.

For example, in Photoshop, keyboard key ‘‘e’’ can realize ‘‘eraser’’ function. If customize one GAOMON Tablet express keys as letter ‘‘e’’, it can realize ‘‘eraser’’ function inside Photoshop too.

How to set up express keys in a drawing programs

1. Open the art program where you want to customize express keys, for example, Krita. After you run this rogram, you can find it on the the upper right corner of GAOMON Driver. See picture below.
   
   Please kindly note ! If there has no Krita in the dropdown list, please click “Add a Program” and find it in the list.
   

2. Go to the “Pen Tablet” interface and click “Express Key” to start customizing the hotkeys.
   

3. Click to delete the default settings, and press the key on your keyboard to enter a valid key or a key combination.

4. Remember to select “Enable Express Keys” after setting.
   

How to set up express keys in other different drawing programs

If you want to set express key functions of another programs, like Photoshop, just open PS and choose it on the upper right corner of GAOMON driver. Now you can start setting as the above steps.

How to Export & Import express key file when changing a computer to use.

When you need change a computer to use GAOMON Tablet, it’s very inconvenient to set up all express keys in different drawing programs again. The Export/Import function can save so much time.

In the “Settings” interface of GAOMON driver, there are three buttons: ‘Export’, ‘Import’ and ‘Default’.

Export: This button is used to export shortcuts settings that you appoint to Express Keys as a file so you can save it in your computer folder.

Import: This button is used to import shortcuts settings that you have saved in a specific folder into GAOMON driver.

Default: This button is to recover Express keys into default settings.

1. Setting shortcuts in GAOMON driver, click ‘Export’ button. There will pop out a dialog box named ‘save as’. Type a name, eg. Krita Express Keys, into ‘File name’ box and click ‘save’, you will save shortcuts that you assign to Express Keys of M10K PRO as a file, named Krita Express Keys.
   

2. Finishing drawing in Krita, you changed to Photoshop. At the first time, you also need to appoint shortcuts that your Photoshop supports. Remember to save this shortcut settings as a file, here named as Photoshop Express Keys.

3. Now you need to draw in another computer. As you have saved the express key settings as file, so you don’t have to repeat the setting steps on the new computer. Just send the Express key files that you saved before to the new computer. Click the “Import” button and it will bring up a box named ‘open’. Browse to find the file and click ‘Open’, then the setting is done. The Express Keys of GAOMON driver now changed into the settings you have saved in that file.
   

How to sign/write on Microsoft office files: Word/Excel/PowerPoint /OneNote?

GAOMON M10K PRO supports to write, sign, comment, annotate on Microsoft Office Files like using a real pen on real paper. All solutions in this article are based on the version of Microsoft Office 2016, but the steps are similar in other versions.

In Word.

How to draw with digital pen in the comment area of Word file?

1. Connect GAOMON M10K PRO to computer.
2. Open a document that you want to deal with.
3. Click on the item ‘Review’. We can use the tablet pen to control the cursor.
4. Find the icon ‘ink : a pen shape tool on a folded paper with a star at the corner. In Office 2016, there are three icons related with ‘ink comment’. One is ‘ink comment’ to add a new comment; one is ‘pen style and ; the other is ‘ink comment .
5. Click ‘ink comment’ and then a comment box will appear in the right area. You can use the tablet pen to draw freely in this comment box. A handwritten ‘GAOMON’ is in the comment area for your reference:
   

How to highlight and sign your name on Word file?

1. After well connected M10K PRO to computer, please open the Word document.

2. Click ‘Review’ and click ‘Start Inking’.
   

3. Tips: The wide pen is a highlighter. The narrow pen is for drawing. Here are highlight and underlines for your reference:
   

In Excel.

1. After well connected M10K PRO to computer, please open the Excel file.
2. Click ‘Review’ and click ‘Start Inking’, then we can draw on excel files with digital pen freely.

Please Note! All the drawing you have made will disappear (in fact, being hidden) if you clicked ‘show ink’. Re-click to make all of them appear.

In OneNote.

1. After well connected M10K PRO to computer, please open OneNote.
2. Now you can use GAOMON pen to draw freely now. The item ‘Draw’ can help us to adjust the pen and color.
   

In PowerPoint.

1. After well connected M10K PRO to computer, open PowerPoint.
2. Click the item ‘Review’ and then click ‘Start Inking’, now we can draw on PowerPoint.
   

How to Comment, Highlight and Sign/Draw on PDF (Acrobat Reader DC)?

All solutions in this article are in Acrobat Reader DC. In other PDF programs, the steps resemble.

How to sign/write on PDF?

1. Make sure the cable well connected.

2. Open the Acrobat Reader DC and a PDF file that you want to sign your name. Here is an example.

3. Click ‘Tools’ and then find the item ‘Fill & Sign’ from the ‘Tools’ menu, openit.
   

4. Click the item ‘Sign’, then choose ‘Add Signature’.
   

5. Click ‘Draw’, then you can use GAOMON stylus to write–click ‘Apply’ to save it.
   Please Note! ‘Clear’ means to erase the signature.
   

6. The signature can be placed anywhere in the PDF after saving it. For example, put the signature at the place that mark ‘8’: choose ‘Sign’, click that place, then signature comes out
   

How to use GAOMON tablet to draw, comment on or highlight PDF files

After connecting M10K PRO to computer, open the Acrobat Reader DC too.

1. Click ‘Tools’ — find ‘Comment’, open it.
   

2. Click ‘Draw free form’ that marked as ‘3’ in below picture to draw.

3. We can select a color and line thickness from the icon that marked as’4′
   

4. Click the pen inside the red circle to highlight the content.
   

How to use Left-hand Mode

Left-hand Mode: If you are left-handed, you can set up left-hand so that you can use M10K PRO normally.

Set up left-hand mode:

1. Flip 180 degree in the driver.
   Open the driver–Work Area–choose 180 degree

2. Turn the GAOMON tablet 180 degree to ensure that the shortcut key is on the right hand.
