Introduction

Thank you for selecting the BearTrap®, a truly remarkable portable light. As with any professional tool, reasonable care and maintenance of this product will provide years of dependable service.
Please read this manual before using your BearTrap®. It includes important safety and operating instructions and should be saved.
The BearTrap® must be charged before first use.

The rechargeable battery contained in this product is recyclable. At the end of its useful life, under various country and state laws, it may be illegal to dispose of this battery in the municipal solid waste stream. Check with your local solid waste officials for details in your area for recycling options or proper disposal (In USA: RBRC).

CHARGER SAFETY

A. Don’t abuse the cord. Never carry charger by cord or pull it to disconnect the charger from a receptacle.
B. Plug AC charger directly into an electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
C. Do not use a damaged charger. Replace damaged cords or plugs immediately.
D. Remove light from AC charge before attempting any routine cleaning or maintenance. Do not try to repair the unit or charger yourself.
Take it to a qualified service facility or return it to the factory.

USING THE LIGHT

  • The pushbutton switch is located on the front face of the light near the top. Depress the button momentarily to turn the light on.
    The Spot cool white LED will come on in low mode. Press the button again and the light brightens to medium. A third press will place the light in high. A fourth press of the button will turn the light off.

NOTE – If you wait more than two seconds between button pushes, the next press of the button will turn the light off.

To access the Flood LEDs, turn on the light, then press and hold the button for two seconds. The light will change from Spot to Flood mode. The light will now function in the same manner as Spot with low, medium and high modes.
To return to SPOT mode, repeat the press and hold sequence.

  • Battery Indicator in the on/off button – Changes from Green to Yellow to Red and then Flashing Red when the battery is in need of recharging.
  • The body of the BearTrap® can rotate 270º to position the light for virtually any lighting need. Ratchet detents will hold the light body in your desired position.
  • The light will stand on its base on a flat surface, and will clamp to virtually any flat, round, or irregular surface, and then allows you to rotate the lights body 180 degrees to position the light.
  • The light includes a handy wire handle/hook, to allow for easy opening, when clamping the light on a surface.
  • The lights wire handle can be rotated through the clamp mechanism to the opposite side, (by expanding the clamp and then rotating the wire handle to the opposite side) for added hanging versatility using the handle/hook.
  • You can also rotate the light body through the clamp mechanism for additional mounting options and versatility. Simply pull the clamp open and rotate the body through the opening. Use caution to not pinch your fingers!
  • The cross bar includes three strong magnets to hold the light on any convenient ferrous metal surface. Avoid painted metallic surfaces.

CHARGING INFORMATION

Fully charge your work light before first use. The light may remain plugged into the charge port/AC power after charge is completed.
To charge the light. First turn off the light. Plug the AC charger into a power source, then fold back the rubber cover on the back of the light, plug the 90 degree barrel connector of the charger into the exposed port. The charge indicator is located in the on/off switch and will glow red for charging and green for charged.
Charge time using SL #44922 charger, recharges in 5.5 hours.

USING THE LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY with AC power
The light is designed to also run continuously if desired and AC power is readily available. Plug AC charger into an outlet and then the barrel connector of the charger into the lights charge port. Insert the cord under the cord retainers to secure the wire.
NOTE – The batteries will charge while in constant use, but at a reduced rate.

Streamlight® flashlights are intended for use as high intensity, heavy duty, and portable light sources. Use of Streamlight® flashlights for any purpose other than as light sources is specifically discouraged by the manufacturer. Streamlight® specifically disclaims liability for other than recommended use.

Be sure to use only genuine Streamlight® replacement parts to assure product safety. Substitution may invalidate the product approval. Do not try to repair the unit yourself. Send to a qualified service facility or return it to the factory.

Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty

Streamlight warrants this product to be free of defects for a lifetime of use except for batteries and bulbs, abuse and normal wear. We will repair, replace or refund the purchase price of this product should we determine it to be defective. This limited lifetime warranty also excludes rechargeable batteries, chargers, switches and electronics which have a 2 year warranty with proof of purchase. THIS IS THE ONLY WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED EXCEPT WHERE SUCH LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED BY LAW. You may have other specific legal rights which vary by jurisdiction.
