This quick guide provides instructions on how to change the stem on your bike. The stem is a component that connects the handlebars to the steerer tube of the bike’s fork. It is important to follow the steps carefully to ensure proper installation and functionality.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Dismantle the handlebars on the stem by unscrewing the four screws on the handlebar clamp plate using a 4mm Allen key.
  2. Remove the handlebars and let them hang down the side of the bike.
  3. Use a thin flathead screwdriver to carefully remove the stem cap.
  4. Loosen the central adjustment screw for the headset with a 5mm Allen key and unscrew it completely.
  5. Loosen the two stem clamp bolts with a 5mm Allen key. These screws should be loosened but not completely unscrewed.
  6. Pull the stem up off the steerer tube.
  7. Install the new stem by following these steps:
    • Slide the new stem onto the steerer tube.
    • Put on the adjusting screw and only tighten it until there is no more play in the headset.
    • Align the stem direction to the front wheel.
    • Fully tighten the two stem clamp bolts.
    • Tighten the adjustment screw 1/4 turn.
    • Mount the handlebar onto the new stem.
  8. If you need to adjust or set the angle on your stem, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product.

INSTALLATION

This quick guide is designed to help you change the stem on your bike. To do this, please proceed as follows:

  • Dismantle the handlebars on the stem. To do this, you must completely unscrew the four screws on the handlebar clamp plate using a 4mm Allen key. Remove the handlebars and carefully let them hang down the side of the bike.
  • Carefully remove the stem cap with a thin flathead screwdriver.
  • Loosen the central adjustment screw for the headset with a 5mm Allen key and unscrew it completely.
  • Loosen the two stem clamp bolts With a 5mm Allen key. These screws must be loosened and not unscrewed.

Replace Ahead Stem

Pull the stem up off the steerer tube and install the new stem:

  • Slide the new stem onto the steerer tube
  • Put on the adjusting screw and only tighten it until there is no more play in the headset
  • Align the stem direction to the front wheel
  • Fully tighten the two stem clamp bolts
  • Tighten the adjustment screw 1/4 turn
  • Mount the handlebar
