INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Micro Blue Condensate Pump
The MicroBlue® uses a revolutionary dynamic diaphragm control technology, allowing it to outperform other condensate pumps. The compact, anti-vibration design makes it suitable for conduit installations or similar discrete locations.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Caution: This pump has been evaluated for water use only.
Caution: Risk of electric shock, this pump has not been investigated for
use in swimming pools or marine areas.
Caution: Alarm lead must be connected to a class 2 circuit only. Do not
connect to a load higher than 5A 240V AC/5A 30V DC.
Caution: Only models supplied with onboard relays have the capability to
isolate power to an AC unit during an alarm condition.
Caution: Since there is no water level sensing, the alarm relay will not
operate with hot and cold sensing options.
Warning: Product must be installed with 1 Amp fuse (T1AH250V) as per
installation’s schematic.
Warning: Acceptable for indoor use only.
Warning: Do not store, install or operate this pump in a damp
environment.
Warning: The unit must not be placed outside, immersed in water or
exposed to frost.
Warning: All existing collection elements and fittings should be
thoroughly cleaned before installation. Do not install if damaged.
Warning: The appliance must be installed in accordance with national
wiring regulations.
Warning: Mains power supply must be isolated prior to carrying out any
electrical work. All-pole disconnection from mains must be incorporated in the
fixed wiring.
Warning: The supply cord cannot be replaced. If damaged the appliance
must be replaced.
Warning: All the external accessories and sensors provided must be used
only with the appliance provided by the manufacturer
Warning: The power supply mains system must be provided with an ‘all-pole
disconnection’ device connected directly to the supply terminal that provides
a full disconnection under overvoltage category III.
Warning: This appliance requires no maintenance.
Warning: This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved.
Warning: Children shall not play with the appliance.

The compact design of the MicroBlue® enables it to be installed inside the conduit of an air conditioning unit or other discreet locations. The MicroBlue® is designed to be mounted in any orientation but must be kept dry. Secure the pump in the desired location with the supplied cable ties and adhesive-backed velcro. Ensure the pump is mounted no more than 2m above the condensate outlet and not more than 5m below the desired drainage point for the pump outlet. Connect the discharge hose to the outlet spout of the pump and secure as necessary with cable ties. A stepped connector is supplied to convert various tube diameters.
Reservoir option
Choose to use either the top IN 1 and OUT 2 or side IN 3 and OUT 4 connections and fit blanking plugs to the unused ports. Connect the reservoir outlet (2 or 4) to the inlet of the pump & the flexible condensate inlet to the condensate tray hose. The reservoir is fitted with a vent tube 5, which must remain unblocked with the free end secured above the full level of the condensate drip tray. Ensure the reservoir assembly is secured in a HORIZONTAL position using the screws supplied.
Drainstik® option
Insert sensor1 into the condensate tray pipe as shown and secure hose 2 in position. The DrainStik® must be mounted vertically. Use the silicon hose provided.
**Hot and cold sensor option
**
Position the hot thermistor sensor (red) u in a suitable location at ambient air temperature. It is recommended that ceiling voids are avoided as these are usually at much higher temperatures. Place the cold thermistor sensor (blue) v in the path of the airflow from the air conditioning unit.
Following the installation of the MicroBlue® an operational test must be conducted to ensure correct functionality. To test, slowly pour cold water into the condensate drip tray until the pump switches on and the mode light changes from solid green to flashing green. Allow the pump to run then switch off and the light to return to solid green. The pump should run for approximately 5 seconds after emptying the reservoir/condensate tray pipe.
When the MicroBlue® is turned on following installation, mains isolation for AC maintenance or power loss, the pump will perform calibration. Calibration will also occur when a sensor is connected to the pump whilst it is turned on. Calibration will take 20 seconds and is indicated by the mode light flashing green and the buzzer sounding. Following calibration, the pump will return to standard operation.
Following installation, an alarm test must be conducted to ensure correct functionality. To test the alarm, restrict the outlet hose from the reservoir and fill it with water up to the high-level sensor. This will cause the pump to enter an alarm state which is indicated by the mode light flashing red and the buzzer sounding. For MicroBlue® models supplied with an onboard alarm relay, in addition to the audio and visual response, the relay will change from the closed state to the open state. This can be detected using a multimeter or observing the shutdown of the AC unit. Remove the restriction from the reservoir outlet hose allowing the water to be evacuated and either the alarm to reset or the AC operation to restart.
