SmartGen CMM366A-ET Cloud Monitoring Communication Module
Product Information
The CMM366A-ET Cloud Monitoring Communication Module is an ETHERNET communication protocol switch module designed to connect a generator set (with SCI) to the internet. It allows users to monitor the running status of the generator in real-time and search for running records via an app (IOS or Android) or PC terminal devices. The module can also insert digital alarm input/output signals for monitoring generator room entrance guard, theft prevention, and fire facilities.
The module has multiple communication ports, including RS485, RS232, LINK, and USB (Host), allowing it to communicate with most genset control modules of international first-class brands. It is powered by DC (8~35)V and can directly use the genset’s built-in starter battery. With an ARM-based 32-bit SCM, the module has high integration of hardware and strong programming ability. It also includes GPS locate function for gaining location information and locating the genset.
The CMM366A-ET module uses JSON network data communication protocol, which allows for real-time data variation upload and compression algorithm to reduce network flow. It has alarm upload capabilities and features 2 auxiliary digital input ports for receiving external alarm signals and 1 auxiliary relay output port for outputting various alarm signals. The module also has calendar and clock functions and power and communication status indicators on the front panel for easy monitoring. It is designed for easy installation with options for standard-type 35mm guide-rail installation or screw-fixed installation. The module has a modular design with a self-extinguishing ABS plastic shell, making it lightweight and compact.
Product Usage Instructions
- Connect the CMM366A-ET Cloud Monitoring Communication Module to a wired ETHERNET connection.
- Ensure that the module is connected to the genset control module using one of the available communication ports (RS485, RS232, LINK, or USB).
- Power the module using a DC power supply within the voltage range of 8~35V. Alternatively, it can be powered directly from the genset’s built-in starter battery.
- If desired, connect an external alarm signal to one of the auxiliary digital input ports.
- If desired, connect an output device to the auxiliary relay output port for receiving various alarm signals.
- Install the module in the genset control box using either the standard-type 35mm guide-rail installation or screw-fixed installation method.
- Adjust parameters, if necessary, via the USB port.
- Monitor the running status of the genset and search for running records using the provided app (IOS or Android) or PC terminal devices.

OVERVIEW
CMM366A-ET Cloud Monitoring Communication Module is an ETHERNET communication
protocol switch module which can achieve genset (with SCI) connect to
Internet. After logging into cloud server, module will receive corresponding
genset controller communication protocol from cloud server. And the module
gains genset data via RS485 port, USB port, LINK port or RS232 port. Then the
module transmits the data to corresponding cloud server via wired ETHERNET for
achieving user’s real-time monitoring to running status and searching of
running records via APP (IOS or Android) and pc terminal devices.
CMM366A-ET module not only can achieve genset monitoring but also can insert
some digital alarm input/output signal to achieve monitoring of generator room
entrance guard, guard against theft and fire facilities.
PERFORMANCE AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Connect to cloud server via wired ETHERNET, one to one monitoring;
- Multiple ports for communication with genset control module: RS485, RS232, LINK and USB (Host); can monitor great majority genset control modules of international first-class brands;
