Product Information

The Circular Glass Rooflight is a product designed to provide natural light and ventilation to buildings. It features a circular glass unit that can be installed on either a builders upstand or a GRP kerb. The rooflight is available in different nominal diameters ranging from 600mm to 1500mm.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Take care when unpacking and ensure all correct parts are included and undamaged.
  2. Only use the fixings supplied with the product.
  3. Ensure that all Health & Safety Regulations are followed throughout the installation process.
  4. Install the roof covering to cover the side and top of the insulated upstand according to the manufacturer’s installation recommendations. Ensure there is no excessive build-up of layers, the top surface is level, and free from protrusions or projections that may prevent adequate weatherproofing.
  5. Apply expanding foam tape around the top inside edge of the upstand. The minimum width of the tape should be 150mm.
  6. Apply mastic/silicone 15mm from the outside edge of the upstand.
  7. Place the glass unit accurately on top of the upstand.
  8. Fill the gap between the frame and the upstand at screw holes using plastic packers.
  9. Screw in the supplied unit fasteners through the snapcap washers and plastic packers. Ensure equal overhang around the perimeter.
  10. Fit snapcaps over the head of each fastener.

Installation
  1. Install roof covering to cover side and top of insulated upstand in accordance with manufacturer’s installation recommendations.
  2. Apply expanding foam tape around top inside edge of upstand.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(5\)
  3. Mastic/Silicone 15mm from the outside edge of upstand.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(6\)

  5. Place plastic packers to fill the gap between the frame and the upstand at screw holes.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(8\)
  6. Screw in supplied unit fasteners through the snapcap washers and plastic packers.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(9\)
  7. Fit snapcaps over the head of each fastener.

Kerb Fixing Quantities

All Health & Safety Regulations must be followed on site throughout the ! installation process

Installation
  1. Mastic/Silicone around the edge of the roof opening.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(13\)
  2. Place kerb accurately over roof opening.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(14\)
  3. Fit kerb to roof using 55mm kerb fasteners.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(15\)
  4. Install roof covering to cover kerb and in accordance with manufacturers installation recommendations.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(16\)
  5. Terminate roof covering at underside of kerb top.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(17\)
  6. Place glass unit squarely on top of secured kerb.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(18\)
  7. Place fixing bracket underneath kerb and rooflight at screw holes, facing the hole against the aluminium frame.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(19\)
  8. Screw in supplied bolt fasteners through the snapcap washers, fixing bracket and M5 hex nut.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(20\)
  9. Complete fixing glass unit to kerb repeating previous two steps.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(21\)
  10. Fit snapcaps over the head of each fastener.Brett-Martin-TB425-Circular-Glass-Rooflight- \(22\)
