Thank you for choosing the SURGE Wireless Pro Controller. The classic controller style and lightweight design ensures continued comfort during extended gaming sessions, while built-in dual rumble motors provide an immersive gaming experience.
Plus, the programmable Turbo button will give you an edge over the competition by allowing you to change any face buttons or triggers on the controller to have Turbo functionality.

Before use, please read the following important safety information. Following these simple guidelines will ensure trouble-free operation and optimal performance of the product and compatible electronic devices. Improper use may cause the product to stop working and may even cause serious injury to the user.

HOME Button:

  • Press and hold “HOME” button for 5 seconds to turn off wireless controller.
  • Press and hold “HOME” button for 3 seconds to turn on wireless controller.
    NOTE: If the controller was previously synchronized, it should automatically connect to your Nintendo Switch console (if it is powered on).

TURBO (AUTO-FIRE) Button:

  • To activate, press and hold the “TURBO” button and then press any button (A/B/X/Y/L1/L2/R1/R2) that you want to apply turbo function.
  • Repeat the same process to cancel the turbo function.

MACRO Button Setup:

  • To set a MACRO button, press and hold the “TURBO” button for 5 seconds (LED bar will flash for 1 second). Then, while still holding the “TURBO” button, press one of the MACRO buttons (Example: M1).
  • Press the desired button combination in sequential order (Example: UP DOWN + A + B).
  • Press “TURBO” button to complete MACRO button setup (LED bar will flash for second).
  • Now when you press the MACRO button (M1), the controller will press the desired button combination in sequential order (UP in + DOWN + A + B).

MACRO Button Reset:

  • To reset a MACRO button, press and hold the “TURBO” button for 5 seconds (LED bar will flash for 1 second). Then, while still holding the “TURBO” button, press the MACRO buttons you would like to reset (Example: M1).
  • Press ‘TURBO” button to complete MACRO button reset (LED bar will flash for 1 second).
  • Now when you press the MACRO button (M1), nothing will happen.

L and R Control Sticks:
The and R control sticks must be in the neutral position during the following actions:

  • Powering on the device
  • Powering on the controller
  • Launching game software •Quitting game software

If the In L and R control sticks are not in the neutral position during these actions, it can cause erratic gameplay control or cause objects on the screen to move when you are not using the controller.

Resetting L and R Control Sticks Procedure:

  1. Allow both control sticks to return to a neutral untouched position and then press down the “HOME” button for 5 seconds. This will turn the controller off.
  2. With the control sticks still in a neutral untouched position, press and hold the “HOME” button for 3 seconds. This will turn the controller back on and the issue should now be resolved.

Standby (Power Saving) Mode:
The wireless controller will automatically enter a hibernation state, when it hasn’t been used for 5 minutes, to conserve power. Press and hold the “HOME” button on the controller for 3 seconds to exit standby mode.

Charging the Controller:
To charge the controller, please connect the USB-C charge cable to the USB-C port on controller and the other end of the cable to an open USB port on your Nintendo Switch Dock, PC, or other USB power source.

  • CHARGING (controller synchronized): Current player LED blinks normally.
  • CHARGING (controller not synchronized): All LEDs blink normally.
  • LOW BATTERY (controller synchronized): Current player LED blinks slowly.

LED Indicators:

  • LED indicators will blink rapidly during synchronization process and one LED (or several) will light up when synchronization with the device is successful.
  • LED indicators help identify the player number assigned to the controller whenconnected tO the Switch console.

Connection Options

WIRED: Supports Nintendo Switch, PC XInput, and PC DirectInput
WIRELESS: Nintendo Switch and PC Directinput

Synchronization – Switch Console – Wireless Connection:
Please ensure wireless controller is fully charged before proceeding with synchronization.

  • Step 1: Power on the Switch console and wait for the console to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Select the “Controllers” icon on the Switch console menu screen.
  • Step 3: Select the “Change Grip/Order” option.
  • Step 4: Simultaneously press and hold the “Y” button and “HOME” button on the controller for 3 seconds. The LED indicators will blink as the controller searches for the Switch console. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the console, one indicator light(or several) will remain on. NOTE: The channel lights are assigned by the  Switch console.
  • Step 5: After the controller is successfully connected to the console, the controller icon will appear on the Switch console display. Press the “A” button on the controller to confirm and press the “B* button to return to the main page for game operation.
  • NOTE: If no connection is established within 2 minutes, the controller will enter sleep mode automatically. Simply press and hold the “Y” button and “HOME” button on the controller simultaneously for 3 seconds to wake the controller and start the pairing process again.

Synchronization – Switch Console Through TV Dock – Wired Connection:

  • Step 1: Power on the Switch console and wait for the console to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Select “System Settings” and select “Controllers and Sensors’
  • Step 3: Set the toggle switch for “Pro Controller Wired Communication” to “ON”
  • Step 4: Place the Switch console in the TV dock and ensure the TV video output is correct
  • Step 5: Connect the USB cable to the USB interface of the TV dock and the opposite end to the controller, then press the “A” button on the controller to confirm.
    Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the console, one indicator light (or several) will remain on. NOTE: The channel lights are assigned by the Switch console.

Synchronization – Switch Console – Wired Connection:

  • NOTE: To connect controller to the Switch handheld, you will require an OTG cable [not included?.
  • Step 1: Power on the Switch console and wait for the console to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Select “System Settings” and select “Controllers and Sensors”
  • Step 3: Set the toggle switch for “Pro Controller Wired Communication” to “ON”.
  • Step 4: Connect the OTG cable to the console.
  • Step 5: Connect the USB cable to the USB interface of the OTG cable and the opposite end to the controller, then press the “A” button on the controller to confirm. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the console, one indicator light (or several) will remain on.
  • NOTE: The channel lights are assigned by the Switch console. Synchronization – Android (DirectInput) – Wireless Connection: Please ensure wireless controller is fully charged before proceeding with synchronization.
  • NOTE: Depending on what device (Smartphone or Tablet) and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar for all Android devices and generations.

Synchronization – Switch Console Through TV Dock – Wired Connection:

  • Step 1: Power on the Switch console and wait for the console to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Select System Settings” and select “Controllers and Sensors”
  • Step 3: Set the toggle switch for “Pro Controller Wired Communication” to “ON”.
  • Step 4: Place the Switch console in the TV dock and ensure the TV video output is correct.
  • Step 5: Connect the USB cable to the USB interface of the TV dock and the opposite end to the controller, then press the “A” button on the controller to confirm. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the console, one indicator light (or several) will remain on.
  • NOTE: The channel lights are assigned by the Switch console.

Synchronization – Switch Console – Wired Connection:

  • NOTE: To connect controller to the Switch handheld, you will require an OTG cable [not included).
  • Step 1: Power on the Switch console and wait for the console to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Select “System Settings” and select “Controllers and Sensors”.
  • Step 3: Set the toggle switch for “Pro Controller Wired Communication” to “ON’.
  • Step 4: Connect the OTG cable to the console.
  • Step 5: Connect the USB cable to the USB interface of the OTG cable and the opposite end to the controller, then press the “A” button on the controller to confirm. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the console, one indicator light (or several) will remain on.
    NOTE: The channel lights are assigned by the Switch console.

Synchronization – Android (DirectInput) – Wireless Connection:

Please ensure wireless controller is fully charged before proceeding with synchronization.
NOTE: Depending on what device (Smartphone or Tablet) and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar for all Android devices and
generations.

BLUETOOTH NAME: Gamepad

  • Step 1: Locate and tap the “Apps” icon.
  • Step 2: Locate and tap the “Settings” icon.
  • Step 3: Select “Bluetooth”. Please note, you may need to select “Connections” first.
  • Step 4: Swipe the switch to the right to set the Bluetooth accessory in pairing/ discovery mode.
  • Step 5: On the controller, simultaneously press and hold the “A” button and 4 “HOME” button on the controller for 3 seconds. The LED indicators will blink as the controller searches for the Android device.
  • Step 6: A list of nearby devices and previously paired devices will be shown on the Android device.
  • Step 7: In the list of “Available Devices” select the device labelled ‘ “Gamepad”.
    Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the device, one indicator light (LED1) will remain on.

Synchronization – PC & Apple Devices (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) – Wireless Connection:
Please ensure wireless controller is fully charged before proceeding with synchronization.

NOTE: Depending on the device and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar for all devices and generations.

BLUETOOTH NAME: Xbox Wireless Controller

  • Step 1: On the PC or Apple device, locate and enter the “Bluetooth” menu.
  • Step 2: Ensure the PC or Apple device is in Bluetooth accessory discovery mode.
  • Step 3: On the controller, simultaneously press and hold the “B” button and “HOME” button on the controller for 3 seconds. The LED indicators will blink as the controller searches for the device.
  • Step 4: A list of nearby devices and previously paired devices will be shown on the device.
  • Step 5: In the list of available devices, select the device labelled “Xbox Wireless Controller”. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the device, two indicator lights (LED2 and LED3) will remain on.

Synchronization – PC (Xinput & DirectInput)- Wired Connection:

  • Step 1: Power on the PC and wait for the system to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Connect the USB cable to the USB interface of the PC and the opposite end to the controller. The PC should recognize a new device is connected. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the console, one indicator light (or several) will remain on or flash.
  • PC Xinput Mode: LED1 and LED2 lights will flash at the same time. This is the factory default mode.
  • PC DirectInput Analog Mode: LED2 and LED3 lights will flash at the same time.
  • PC Directinput Digital Mode: LED1 and LED3 lights will flash at the same time.

How to Change Between Analog and Digital in PC Directinput Mode:

  • Briefly press the “HOME” button once and LED1 and LED3 lights will flash at the same time, indicating that the controller is in PC DirectInput Digital mode. Briefly press the “HOME” button again and LED2 and LED3 lights will flash at the same time, indicating that the controller is in PC Directinput Analog mode.

How to Change Between PC XInput Mode and PC Directinput Mode:

  • Long press the “HOME” button for 5 seconds to change between PC XInput mode and PC Directinput mode.
    NOTE:

  • When the controller is using a wired connection, simply unplug the USB data cable and the controller will automatically attempt to connect via Bluetooth to the console with which it was paired.

  • When the controller is using & Bluetooth connection, simply connect the USB data cable to the controller and the PC and it will automatically switch to the wired connection mode to connect with the console.

Synchronization – Steam Deck – Wireless Connection:
Please ensure wireless controller is fully charged before proceeding with synchronization.

BLUETOOTH NAME: Gamepad

  • Step 1: On the Steam Deck, locate and enter the “Bluetooth” menu.
  • Step 2: Ensure the Steam Deck is in Bluetooth accessory discovery mode.
  • Step 3: On the controller, simultaneously press and hold the “A” button and “HOME” button on the controller for 3 seconds. The LED indicators will blink as the controller searches for the device.
  • Step 4: In the list of available devices, select the device labelled “Gamepad”. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the device, one indicator light (LED1) will remain on.

Synchronization – Steam Deck – Wired Connection:

  • Step 1: Power on the Steam Deck and wait for the system to enter the main interface.
  • Step 2: Connect the USB cable to the USB interface of the Steam Deck and the opposite end to the controler. Once a proper connection has been established between the controller and the Steam Deck, one indicator light (or several) will remain on. NOTE: The channel lights are assigned by the Steam Deck svstem.

Notes:

  • Pressing the HOME button will not wake the Nintendo Switch console.
  • Amiibo recognition, action IR capture, and other unique functions of the official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller are not supported by this wireless controller
  • Blue light bar can by turned on or off by pressing “[3” and “_” simultaneously.
  • L2 and R2 buttons do not support analog quantity.

Troubleshooting Tips

If the wireless controller fails to operate or operates incorrectly, please follow the steps below before seeking assistance:

  • Verify the controller and console are both powered on.

  • Verify the controller is within operating distance of the console.

  • Verify the battery of the controller is fully charged.

  • Verify the controller has been properly synchronized with the console.
    If, after verifying the steps above, the wireless controller still does not work correctly, please try the following:

  • Turn the Nintendo Switch console power off.

  • Wait for 30 seconds and then turn the console power on.

  • Press the RESET button on the back of the wireless controller to reset the controller.

  • Wait for 10 seconds and then resynchronize the controller with the console.
