INSTALLATION

Unit installation

  1. Remove the unit’s package and protection guards in order to proceed with the disassembly of the cover.
    a. Open the thermostat cover and using a screwdriver remove the six screws that secure the thermostat mounting box at both ends.
    b. Remove the thermostat mounting box and unscrew the 4 mounting screws at both ends of the cover. Lift the cover by 1 cm, remove it sideways and store it in a safe place.

  2. In case of wall or ceiling installation, make sure that the selected position is strong enough to support the weight of the unit. The roof installation must be made with suitable support rods. In either case, after installation, you must make sure that the unit is in a horizontal position.

Water pipe connection

  1. Make sure that the pipe connections are made in accordance with the regulations, the 2-way or 3-way valve is installed in the correct direction and the drain pipe has the right slope for unobstructed removal of condensations.
  2. After completing the connections, make sure that there are no leaks and then install insulation on all the pipes and their joints so that no point of the piping network is exposed directly to the air. The thickness of the insulation should not be less than 10 mm.

Electrical connections

  1. All electrical connections must be done by a properly trained and specialized technician. The cables to be used must be larger than 1 mm2 and comply with local regulations.
  2. The voltage range of the permissible power supply is ± 10% of the rated voltage.
  3. The thermostat is designed to control a single unit. It does not support simultaneous control of multiple units.

Attention

  • Do not hold the fan impeller to move the unit during installation.
  • In case of ceiling installation (horizontal installation) the unit must always be properly aligned in all stages of installation. Make sure that the condensations are removed smoothly from the drain pipes.
  • After the installation is completed, a water pressure test must be performed in order to ensure that the piping system is not leaking.
  • Water inlet and outlet pipes must be insulated to prevent condensation and leakage.
  • It is recommended to use flexible pipes in order to connect the water inlet and outlet pipes to the finned heat exchanger (water coil).
  • Make sure there is enough empty space around the unit for convenient maintenance.
  • Make sure that the water piping network is clean and there is no risk of clogging of the pipes and distributors due to the accumulation of foreign particles.
  • Before starting the unit, use the vent valve to vent the air from the pipes of the finned heat exchanger (water coil)
  • Before starting the unit, check the following :

a. No abnormal noise is heard between the impeller and
b. the housing.
d. The fan impeller rotates smoothly.
c. The fan impeller rotates in the correct direction.

Then connect the power supply and start the unit. Make sure the fan impeller rotates in the correct direction.

a. Connect the water circulation pump.
b. Add a suitable amount of antifreeze.
c. In case the unit will not be used for a long time, empty all the water.

After making sure that the installation is completed correctly and there is no possible risk, re-install the cover on the body of the unit and remove the plastic protective film on its surface.

OPERATION & MAINTENANCE

First time operation

Before the first startup, check that the installation is properly completed :

a. The water pipes are properly connected and no leaks are observed.
b. The electrical connections are correct, according to the regulations and the cables are securely fastened without obstructing the passage of people.
c. The air filter is installed correctly.
d. Low hardness water must be used with the finned heat exchanger (finned heat exchanger). Its operating pressure is ≤ 1.6 Mpa.

Maintenance

  1. If the unit is not used during the summer months, it must be filled with water to reduce corrosion. If the unit is not used during the winter months, it must be completely drained of water to prevent freezing and cracking of the copper pipes.
  2. Clean the air filter frequently, at least once or twice a month, to maintain a high efficiency of ventilation and heat exchange.
  3. The unit needs full maintenance after 2 years of operation. Chemical cleaning of the finned heat exchanger (water coil) is recommended.
  4. When you refill the unit with water, after a period of inactivity, use the vent valve to vent the air from the pipes of the finned heat exchanger (water coil).
  5. After the first start-up, during the first months of operation of the unit, the filter should be inspected daily to determine how quickly dirt particles accumulate in order to set a regular filter cleaning schedule so as not to affect the unit’s performance. In case of cold water the temperature should not be lower than 5 °C, so that the pipes do not freeze. In case of hot water the temperature should not be higher than 80 °C. In either case, the water must be clean.
  6. The unit is not suitable for steam supply, or use with water temperature higher than 85 °C as the supply air temperature will become too high, will cause deformations in the supply outlet and there will be high risk of accident. The maximum operating pressure must be less than 1.6 MPa.
  7. When the unit operates in cooling mode within a room with high temperature there is a possibility of condensation appearing on the surface of the cover and the supply outlet. In this case the water temperature must be set between 9 – 11 °C.
  8. If you turn off the water circulation pump when the outside temperature is at 0 °C, then the water in the pipes will freeze and may damage the unit’s finned heat exchanger. Therefore, it is necessary to drain all the water from the unit.
