Tips for electric-powered drill conversion

  • For best performance with your auger, you’ll need: l/2″drill chuck (Required)
  • A 18 Volt/4 Amp Lithium Ion Battery (or higher)
  • A Minimum of 725 in-lbs of torque and 550 RPM, a 18 volt drill will work however, 20 to 24volt will have a better result

Operating Instructions & Recommendations

  1. Always be certain your drill chuck is securely attached and tightened down to the drill adapter before engaging.
  2. For best results always use the slowest speed setting in “Drill” mode. NOTE: Drill assembly must turn clockwise to operate.
  3. There is no need to apply great force to cut, rather, maintain slight downward pressure on the drill and you will feel the auger gradually drawing itself through the ice.
  4. When cutting thick ice, be sure to pull the bit upwards periodically to ensure excess ice shavings do not accumulate, which may bind the drill or make it hard to lift the flighting Out once the hole cutting is complete. If your auger bit becomes stuck in the ice hole, switch the drill to reverse and holding the handle firmly engage the trigger to slowly allow the auger bit to free itself.

WARNING: Always place protective cover over blades when notin use and never turn on the electric drill unless drilling!
WARNING: Must Read before Operation!
Failure to read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions listed could result in serious injury or death! While the E-Drill is a lightweight device, it is very powerful and dangerous to operate. Keep all body parts, loose clothing and foreign objects clear of the rotating auger during operation.

  1. The E-Drill is designed to work with a l/2″cordless drill.
  2. Be sure to leave the blade protective cover in place until you are ready to drill.
  3. Never adjust drill speed while drilling ice.
  4. For optimal performance, always position the drill adapter at 90 degrees to the ice when in operation.
  5. Keep your cordless drill out of water.
  6. The warmer your battery is kept, the more holes you can drill on a single charge.
  7. Never drill into soil or stone or allow the E-Drill blades to touch any other sharp objects.
  8. Periodically clear the hole of slush when cutting through wet or slushy ice.
