Safety instructions

  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry environments only.
  • Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
  • Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
  • Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • Use the product only for the intended purpose.
  • This product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
  • Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
  • Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
  • Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.

Warning – batteries / button cells

  • When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries that match the specified type. Keep the instructions for the correct choice of batteries included with the operating instructions of devices safe for future reference.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polarity contacts.
  • Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
  • Replace all the batteries in a set at the same time.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types or from different manufacturers.
  • Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not burn batteries or heat them up.
  • Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
  • Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of them without delay.

Warning – batteries / button cells

  • Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).

  • Ensure that batteries with damaged housings do not come into contact with water.

  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.

  • Do not swallow batteries or button cells. Burning hazard from hazardous substances.

  • If the battery compartment will no longer close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.

  • This product contains button cells. If the button cell is swallowed, serious internal burns can occur within 2 hours and ultimately lead to death.

  • If you suspect that a button cell has been swallowed or is in any part of the body, seek medical attention immediately.

  • Keep new and used button cells out of the reach of children.

System requirements

  • The Bluetooth® remote trigger supports Bluetooth® -enabled devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs running the iOS 5.0.1 or Android 4.2 operating systems or later versions.

Note

  • Please be aware that your device must support the Bluetooth® remote trigger if they are to be used.
  • Please refer to the operating instructions of your device for more information.

Commissioning

  • Open the battery compartment by unscrewing the screw on the battery compartment cover (4) with a screwdriver.
  • Remove the battery compartment cover (4) and insert a CR2032 battery, observing the correct polarity (B).
  • Close the battery compartment again by putting the battery compartment cover back on and tightening the screw using a screwdriver (B).

Operation

Note

  • The functions described in this section are only possible with Bluetooth® -enabled devices.
  • Note that the maximum range for Bluetooth is 10 metres without obstacles such as walls, people, etc.

6.1. BIuetooth pairing
Note – pairing

  • Ensure that the Bluetooth® -enabled device is switched on and that the Bluetooth® function is activated.

  • Make sure that your Bluetooth® -enabled device is visible for other Bluetooth® devices.

  • Please refer to the operating instructions of your device for more information.

  • Slide the On/Off switch (2) from the OFF position to ON.
    The pilot light (1) starts to flash blue.

  • The Bluetooth® remote trigger searches for a Bluetooth® connection.

  • Open the Bluetooth® settings on your device and wait until the list of found Bluetooth® devices shows hama BRS4.

  • Select hama BRS4 and wait until the Bluetooth® remote trigger is shown as connected in the Bluetooth® settings of your device. The pilot light (1) goes out.

  • You can now use the Bluetooth® remote trigger.

  • To prolong the battery life, slide the On/Off switch (2) from ON to OFF when not using the Bluetooth® remote trigger.

6.2. Automatic Bluetooth® connection (after successful pairing)

Note

  • Ensure that the Bluetooth® -enabled device is switched on and that the Bluetooth® function is activated.
  • Make sure that your Bluetooth® -enabled device is visible for other Bluetooth® devices.
  • Please refer to the operating instructions of your device for more information.
  • The Bluetooth® remote trigger remains connected to the Bluetooth® device it was last used with.
  • Slide the On/Off switch (2) from the OFF position to ON. The pilot light (1) starts to flash blue.
  • After 3-5 seconds, the Bluetooth® remote trigger automatically pairs with the device.
  • You can now use the Bluetooth® remote trigger.

Note – connection impaired
After a successful initial pairing, the connection is established automatically.
If the Bluetooth® connection is not established automatically, check the following:

  • In your device’s Bluetooth® settings, check that hama BRS4 is connected.
    If not, repeat the steps described in 6.1. Bluetooth pairing.

  • Check whether obstacles are impairing the range. If so, move the devices closer together.

  • The performance may also be impaired if the battery is low. Change the battery if necessary.

  • Only one Bluetooth® device can be connected at a time. If it is still actively paired to another device, disconnect this pairing and try again.

6.3. Changing the battery
The battery was designed for a use of up to 2,000 triggers, however this lifespan depends on the conditions of use. If the Bluetooth® remote trigger does not respond when the trigger button (2) is pressed, does not connect to the  Bluetooth® device, etc., then change the battery as follows: See (B).

Care and maintenance

Only clean this product using a lint-free, slightly damp cloth and do not use any harsh cleaners. Ensure that no water is able to enter the product.
