Basic Safety Precautions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,

  1. Read all instructions before using.
  2. Do not touch any surface when the toaster-oven using. Use handle and knobs.
  3. To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse unit, cord or plugs in water or any other liquid.

  Handling of the power plug

About Functions of Internal Temperature Sensor
  • The sensor measures the temperature inside the toaster and automatically control the heating time so that continuous toasting can be possible.
  • In order to prevent overheating, if the heating operation continues 1o long, the toaster automatically tumns off the heating elements and the lever rises before finish. That is not a failure. When the toaster is cooled down, it can resume the operation.

Before Use

Be sure to check the following items to ensure safety use of this product.

  • Check that the glass plate is installed. (See Page 7.)
  • Check that the crumb tray is installed. (See Page 4.)
    • Afire or malfunction may occur if you toast the following bread:
    • Any warped or deformed slice;
    • Any slice covered with butter or jam;
    • Any slice that is too large or too thick;
    • Any slice that is too small or too thir; or
    • Sandwiches, French toast, etc. (See the figures below.)
  • Do not use the toaster with the cover plate on or do not put the cover plate on the main body while its hot after use.
  • Use the toaster only to toast bread. Do not attempt to toast rice cakes, etc. Otherwise, a failure, fire or bum may occure.

How to Preheat

When you use the toaster for the first time, it may generate smoke or odor, however, it will gradually fade as you use the toaster repeatedly. If you do not like the odor, preheat the toaster.

  • When you preheat the toaster, first remove every packing materials and do not put anything in the toasting slot.

  2. Align Level 4 of Toast Color Control knob with Dial reader Align Level 4 with Dial reader.

  3. Push down the lever.

    • Toast lamp lights up and preheating starts. When the preheating is complete, the lever is automatically raised.

How to Use

Caution

  • Be careful not to touch the main body when the toaster is in use or soon after use. Otherwise, you may get a burn.
  • While the toaster is being heated by the heating elements, you may hear a “pop” sound from the inside of the main body, which is normal.
  • If you toast a bread slice for an additional time, lower the lever, press Reheat button, and toast the slice while monitoring it.

Toasting Bread

  • Use this button when you toast bread.
  1. Insert the power plug into an electric outlet.

  2. Turn Toast Color Control knob to choose a desired toast color.

    • Align any one of Levels of 1 – 7 with “Dial reader.”
    • When toasting one slice (sliced into 6 pcs.), adjust the knob to “3,” and two slices, to “5,” as a guide.

  3. Put the bread into the toasting slot and push down the lever.

    • Twoslices canbe toasted atone time. Ifyou toast one slice only, setitinthe middle ofthe slot.
    • In case of round-top bread, set the slice with the round-top up.
    • When you push down the lever,
    • Toast lamp lights up and the toasting operation starts.
    • When you check the toast colorduring the toasting operation:
    • Check the toast color through the glass window.
    • When you stop the toasting operation before finish:
    • Press Cancel button or raise the ever.
  4. Finish
    When the toastis finished, the toasting operationstops and then the bread automatically pops up along with the lever.

  5. Pull the power plug out of the electric outlet.

    • When you toast bread with hich content of sugar or o, or smal-size: slices, setthe toastcolorto a lighter level because they are easily burrt.
    • When you toast siices wetted by using an atomizer, etc, set the foast Color 1 a carker eval bacatse they are not easly burt.

Toasting Frozen Bread
  • Use this button when you toast frozen bread
  • Toast frozen slices after removing frost from their surfaces.
  1. Turn Toast Color Control knob to set the toast color. « Align any one of Levels 1 – 7 with “Dial reader.”

    • In case of frozen bread (sliced into 6 pcs.), choose Level 3 for one slice and Level 5 for two slices, as a guide.
  2. Put the slice(s) into the toasting slot and push down the lever.

    • Two slices can be toasted at one time. If you toast one slice only, put it in the middie of the slot. +In case of round-top bread, set the slice with the round-top up.
    • + When the lever is pushed down, Toast lamp lights up and the toasting operation starts. .
  3. Press Defrost button.

    • The lighted lamp is changed from Toastlampto @ Defrost lamp

    • Defrost button +When the toast is finished, the toasting operation stops and the bread auto atically pops up along with the lever.
    • When a thick slice is toasted, sometimes its surfaces are toasted but its inside remains cold.

Toasting Bagels

  • Use this function when you toast only one side of cut piece of bread such as bagels or buns.
  • The heating element only on the front side is tuned on.
  1. Cut a bagel, etc. into two piece

  2. Turn Toast Color Control knob to choose the toast color.

    • Align any of Levels 1 to 7 with “Dial reader.”
    • Set to “Level 4″ for bagels (dia 4.3 inches) a
  3. Put the cut pieces into the toasting slot with their cut faces towards the glass window and push down the lever.

    • When the lever is pushed down, Toast lamp lights up and the toasting operation starts.
  4. Press Bagel button.

    • The lighted lamp is changed from Toast lamp to Bagel lamp, and the heating element only on the front side is turned on.
  5. Finish

    • When the toast is finished, the toasting operation stops and the pieces automatically pop up along with the lever.

Reheating Toast

  • Use this function when reheating already toasted bread without toasting it anymore.
  1. Put the bread to be reheated into the toasting slot and push down the lever.
    • Two slices can be reheated at one time. If you reheat one slice only, put it in the middle of the slot
    • When the lever is pushed down, Toast lamp lights up and the toasting operation starts.
  2. Press Reheat button
    • «The lighted lamp is changed from Toast lamp to Reheat lamp. *The toast color control is unavailable for the reheat function.
      1. Finish Reheat button
    • When the bread has been reheated, the reheating operation stops and the bread automatically pops up along with the lever.

Taking out Short-Size Bread

Lift-up function

  • The lift-up function helps you to take out slices of short-size bread such as bagels and buns.

When Bread Is Caught in Toasting Slot:

  • Pull the power plug out of the electric outlet and use the provided tongs to take out the slice.

  Warning

Do not attempt to take out bread with a bare hand or any metal tool (fork or knife). Otherwise, an electric shock, burn or failure may occur.

Caution

Be careful not to touch the toaster as the main body is hot soon after use. Otherwise, a burn may occur.

The provided tongs are dedicated for this product, so do not use them for any other products. Otherwise, the tongs may be deformed or damaged.

How to Clean

  • Do notimmerse the main body in water or do not splash water on it. Otherwise, a burn, electric shock or injury may occur.

Caution

  • Whenever cleaning the toaster, be sure to first unplug the toaster and sufficiently cool it down. Otherwise, you may geta burn.
  • Do not use benzene, thinner, abrasive cleaner, metal scrubber or nylon scrubber. Otherwise, it may scratch surfaces.
  • Whenever using the toaster, be sure to install the crumb tray and glass plate. Otherwise, smobke, fire or burn may occur.
  • When the surface of the main body is dirty, wipe offthe dirt with a dish towel wetted and then tightly wiung, and then wipe with a dry cloth. When the dirt persists, wipe it off with a dish towel soaked with kitchen neutral detergent, wipe off the detergent with another water soaked and then tightly wrung dish towel and lastly wipe off water with a dry coth.
  • Any crumbs and dust adhering to areas around the slot must be cleaned off as soon as possible.
  • Remove the crumb tray, glass plate, cover plate and tongs, wash them with kitchen neutral detergent and a sponge, wipe off water and then dry them sufficiently. * Do not use a dish washeridryer.
How to removel/install the crumb tray.
  • When removing the crumb tray, pull it towards you.
  • When using the crumb tray, be sure to insert it all the way.
  • Frequently clean the crumb tray and do not use it with any remaining crumbs. otherwise. it may cause smoke or the bread not properly toasted.
How to remove/install the glass plate
  • When removing the glass plate, unlock the hooks (two points) on the botiom side, hold the handle of the glass plate and pull it out.
  • When installing the glass plate, be sure to insert it all the way and lock the hooks (two points).
  • Whenever removingfinstalling the glass plate, be sure to first check that the body has been sufficiently cooled down and do the work on a stable object. Otherwise, you may get a bum or the glass plate may fall and you may get injured.
