**** Keep these instructions with your appliance. If the appliance is ever sold or transferred to another person, ensure that the new owner receives this instruction manual. Please familiarise yourself with these instructions before installing and using your appliance. They have been written for your own safety as well as the safety of others.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • farm houses;
    • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    • bed and breakfast type environments.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remotecontrol system.
  • The outer surface may get hot when the appliance is operating.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
  • Caution: Hot Surface.
  • The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
  • Do not place the appliance in or near hot gas or electric burner, or permit to touch a heated oven or mini oven.
  • Do not touch hot surface. Use the handle while moving the product.
  • Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE” on page 22 of the manual.
a) Safety Instructions
  • Make sure the supply voltage in your home is the same as the voltage marked on the rating plate of the appliance.
  • Children are not aware of the dangers of electrical appliances. Never leave the appliance unattended during use. Therefore always keep the appliance outside the reach of children.
  • The appliance is only suitable for household use. Never use the appliance outdoors.
  • Certain parts of the appliance may become hot during use. Refrain from touching these areas so as not to burn yourself.
  • Make sure that the appliance and the power cable never come into contact with hot devices such as hotplate or naked flames.
  • Do not allow the power cable to hang down over the edge of the sink, worktop or table.
  • Make sure your hands are dry when you touch the appliance, the power cable or the plug.
  • Never submerge the appliance in water or another liquid.
  • The appliance needs to dissipate its heat in order to prevent fire. Therefore it is vital to make sure that the appliance has sufficient clearance on all sides and cannot come into contact with flammable materials. The appliance may not be covered up.
  • Do not use the appliance near explosives or flammable materials.
  • Do not use a metal scouring pad to clean the appliance. Fragments of metal could come loose and touch the appliance’s electrical parts causing it to short circuit.
  • Always switch the appliance off if:
    • It malfunctions while you are using it ;
    • You carry out cleaning or maintenance ;
    • You fit or remove accessories ;
    • You unplug the appliance ;
    • You have finished using the appliance.
  • Only use an extension cord that is in good condition.
  • When the appliance is not in use and before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the outlet.
  • Never switch the appliance off by pulling the cable.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

c) Environmental Protection

At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed with household waste. It must be taken to a special local authority waste collection centre or to a company providing this service. Disposing household appliances separately avoids possible negative effects on the environment and health and enables the constituent materials to be recycled which saves energy and resources.

A logo appears on the product reminding you not to discard it with household waste. For further information, contact your council offices or the shop where you bought this product.

PREPARATION YOUR APPLIANCE

b) Before first use
  1. Before using for the first time, operate the appliance for 10 minutes without any food. A small amount of smoke may also be noticeable. Ventilate the room during this period.
  2. Let the grill plate and the mini pans cool down and clean them (see chapter CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE).
  3. There are two ways of using the appliance :
    To take off the plastic buckle from the appliance, expand the appliance on the table.
    Before first use
    When using 2 appliances together, please use the plastic buckle to connect them.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE

  1. Plug the appliance in the mains socket.
    • Appliances are placed away from the walls when in use.
  2. Grease the grill plate and mini pans slightly with butter.
  3. Switch on the appliance.
  4. Cut the meat into little pieces in order to minimize the preparation time.
  5. Spice the food.
  6. Place the food to be cooked on the grill plate.
  7. Cook the food until it is done.
    • Preparation time depends on the type and thickness of the food. For a good result we advise to turn the food several times during grilling.
  8. Remove the food from the plate using a plastic or wooden spatula.
  9. When you have finished cooking, switch off the appliance and unplug it from the mains socket. Let it completely cool down before cleaning.

Using mini pans
Your Raclette can also give the prepared food a crisp crust. Place the food in a mini pan. Add a slice of tomato or mushroom. Then add a little cheese or a slice of cheese. Place the mini pan under the grill plate. Remove the mini pan, when the food in the pan gets a dark colour. Allow the melted cheese to cool down.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before cleaning the appliance, always make sure that the plug has been removed from the supply socket. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
  • The grill plate and the mini pans can be washed in hot soapy water with a soft cloth. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Never use hard or sharp objects on the non-stick baking surface. The surface can be damaged easily by scratching.
  • You can clean the exterior with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, these can cause damage to the material.
