U8 USB Mini DV Flash Drive Spy Camera User Manual

Operation

  • Please make sure your camera is fully charged before using.
  • Please make sure the Micro SD card is securely fitted into the SD card slot on your camera. Camera will not work without a Micro SD card. We suggest you to use SDHC 4 Micro SD card.
  • Camera is fully charged when the blue indicator light is turned off

Power On/Off

  • Hold down the Power On/Off Button for 2 seconds, the camera will be turned on and enter into standby mode automatically. The camera will vibrate once. Both red and blue indicator lights will blink once, and then the red light will be solid on.
  • Turn off the camera by holding down the Power On/Off Button for 2 seconds and the camera will be turned off. The camera will vibrate once. The red indicator light will flash 3 times and then turn off.

Video recording

  • Power on the camera by holding down the Power On/Off Button for 2 seconds and the camera will enter into standby mode automatically.
  • Press and hold Video/Photo Button for 2 seconds, the camera will start video recording. The camera will vibrate twice and the red indicator lights will flash 3 times then turn off.
  • To stop video recording, press the Video/Photo Button once and the camera will enter into standby mode. The camera will vibrate once. The red indicator light will flash quickly for 2 seconds and then be solid on.
  • Press and hold Video/Photo Button for 2 seconds to resume video recording.

Attention:

1. The camera will stop recording automatically when the memory card is full.

3. Video Resolution: 720×480

Camera/Still Photography

  • Power on the camera by holding down the Power On/Off Button for 2 seconds and the camera will enter into standby mode automatically.
  • Press the Video/Photo Button once to take a photo. The blue indicator light will flash every time you take a photo.

Audio recording

  • Power on the camera by holding down the Power On/Off Button for 2 seconds and the camera will enter into standby mode automatically.
  • Press the Power On/Off button once to record audio. The camera will vibrate once. The blue indicator light will flash 3 times and then turn off indicating the camera is recording audio only.
  • To stop audio recording, press the Power On/Off button once. The camera will vibrate once. The blue indicator light will blink once and then the red light will be solid on.

Motion detection recording

  • Power on the camera by holding down the Power On/Off Button for 2 seconds and the camera will enter into standby mode automatically.
  • Press the Motion Detection Button once and the device will automatically enter into motion detection mode.
  • Camera will start video recording automatically when motion is detected. Once motion is detected, the blue indicator light will flash once and then turn off. The camera now is recording video.
  • To stop motion detection mode, press the Motion Detection Button again and the camera will enter into standby mode and the red indicator light will be solid on.

Video/Photo file uploads

Option 1:

  • Insert the camera to a proper PC computer USB port
  • The camera will be recognized as a removable disk drive.
  • All of your video/audio and photo files can be accessed in the drive.

Option 2:

  • Remove the Micro SD card from the camera and insert it into a card reader.
  • Insert the card reader to a proper PC computer.
  • The micro SD card will be recognized as a removable disk drive.
  • All of your video/audio and photo files can be accessed in the drive.

Set the Date/Time stamp

Option 1:

  • Insert the camera to a proper PC computer USB port.

  • Removable disk drive folder appears.

  • Click on the drive in the root directory and inside the root directory, find a TAG.TXT file. (If there is no such file, create one).

  • Write the desired date and time in the txt file with the correct format:
    – Year-Month-Day Hour: Minute: Second. (For example: 2016-02-23 17:04:59).
    – Save this file.

  • Restart the camera and the system will upgrade the program automatically

Option 2:

  • Remove the Micro SD card from the camera and insert it into a card reader.

  • Insert the card reader to a proper PC computer.

  • Removable disk drive folder appears

  • Click on the drive in the root directory and inside the root directory, find a TAG.TXT file. (If there is no such file, create one)

  • Write the desired date and time in the txt file with the correct format:
    – Year-Month-Day Hour: Minute: Second. (For example: 2016-02-23 17:04:59).
    – Save this file.

  • Restart the camera and the system will upgrade the program automatically.

Charging

  • Insert the camera to a PC computer.(Recommended)
  • The blue indicator light will flash slowly during the charging process.
  • Camera is fully charged when the blue light turns off.
  • It will take up to 1.5 hours to obtain a full charge.
  • The camera can record videos for 1 hour continuously with a fully charged battery.

Recording While Charging

When battery in charging status, long press on K6 first, then press K6 again till the red light goes on, the machine will enter standby mode.

Set Time

Connect the machine to your computer, under the disk root directory, please creat a txt named ‘TIME.TXT”, then open it and set the time form
2014/01/05
12:59:30.
When you complete the setting, please restart the camera, it will automatically complete the time revision. And you can also use “WriteTime. Exe” file which stored in the machine to update the video time.

Exception Handling

When battery is low, the green light will flash about 3 seconds, tehn automatically saves the current image file and shutdown.
Because of accidental faulty operation or other special reasons, the camera stop work, please press K3 and K4 to restart the machine.
Cannot connect computer: please confirm your operating system, driver, USB interface, connections are okay.
