CAUTIONS FOR HOT OIL

Cautions you should read prior to dealing with Hot Oil

  • Most deep fryer accidents occur while the oil is being heated. For this reason, it is very important to monitor the temperature of the oil closely. If any smoke at all is noticed rising from a heating pot of oil, the burner should be turned off immediately because the oil is overheated. (the oil will continue to heat until it catches fire)
  • Clean any oil spills completely and immediately – If oil has spilled, soak it up from the floor with absorbent towels.
  • This fryer does not have automatic thermostat controls so it must be attended to and monitored during oil heat-up and frying.
  • Oil heated above 400*F can ignite and cause a fire.
  • Shut off the gas if the oil exceeds 400 ° F or begins to smoke.
  • Always wait for the oil to cool before handling – Allowing the oil to cool in temperature will reduce the safety hazard, but not eliminate the possibility of burn.
  • Even after cooling, used cooking oil will remain seriously hot.
  • Do not attempt to extinguish an oil/grease fire with water.
  • The surface of the appliance is extremely hot DO NOT TOUCH IT.
  • The lid must be open during oil heat-up and frying.
  • In case of fire; close the lid, turn off the gas, and call the Fire Department.

COOKING OIL FILLING THE FRYER WITH OIL:

  • Never overfill the cooking vessel with oil, grease, or water. Follow instructions in this manual for establishing proper oil, grease, or water levels
  • Pour oil until the bottom of the baskets are submerged. Pour up to Maximum Fill Line but not above the Maximum Fill Line marked on the side wall of the fryer.

USAGE OF GAS CYLINDER

IF YOU SMELL GAS:

  • Turn the gas off.

  7. DCP (Dry Chemical Powder) fire extinguishers should be kept nearby Dis- connect the Cylinder and keep it in an open space with access to ventilation.

Gas leaks may result in fire or explosion and cause serious personal injury or property damage.

LP GAS CYLINDER (NOT SUPPLIED WITH THIS APPLIANCE)
The LP (Liquid Propane) gas cylinder specifically designed to be used with this fryer must have a 14.60 kg capacity incorporating a Type-1 cylin- der valve and an over-filling protection device (OPD). Always use a protective cylinder cap when the fryer is not connected to the cylinder.

Be sure to use the cylinder which has a Type-1 valve and an overfilling prevention device (OPD).

SPECIFICATION FOR LPG CYLINDERS

The cylinder wall is about 2.5 mm thick and the internal pressure is 0.5 ~1.2 MPa, Safe use lasts for 15 years and requires regular inspections every four years.

FILLING PRECAUTIONS FOR THE LP GAS CYLINDER:

  • Allow only qualified LP gas dealers to properly fill or repair your LP Gas Cylinder. New tanks should be purged prior to filling; inform LP gas dealers if you are using a new tank.
  • DO NOT allow the cylinder to be filled beyond 80% capacity. Overfilled tanks can create dangerous conditions. Over-filled tanks can build up pressure and cause the relief valve to expel propane gas vapors. The vapor is combustible and if it comes in contact with a spark source or flame, an explosion causes severe burns or bodily harm.

Follow the advice for the proper use of a gas bottle

  • The LPG bottle must always be installed, transported, and stored in a vertical position, handle it with care, and do not drop the bottle.
  • Make sure that the gas bottle is placed in a ventilated room away from other objects.
  • Never store a spare gas bottle near the fryer.
  • Do not leave or transport the LPG bottles to places where temperatures can reach 50°C (122°F) because they can get too hot to handle. (For example: never leave the gas bottle in the car on a hot day)
  • Treat empty gas bottles as carefully as full ones. Even if there is no more liquid in the bottle, there may maybe some gas left.
  • Always turn off the Cylinder valve before disconnecting the bottle.
  • Make sure that the LPG bottle is shut off. Change the gas bottle away from the heat source and with the fryer off.
  • Never twist the gas hose.
  • Always check the gas connections before using the fryer.
  • Before using the fryer, check that the hose does not have any marks, cracks, abrasions, or cuts. If it is damaged, do not use it.

WARNING

  • When your fryer isn’t in use, turn the cylinder valve off.
  • Use caution when handling an LP gas cylinder.
  • Maintain an upright position for the LP gas cylinder.
  • Never use an LP gas cylinder that hasn’t been properly controlled to power your fryer.
  • Excessive heat or ignition sources should not be used with LP gas cylinders.
  • A extra LP gas cylinder should not be kept near the fryer.
  • Allow only qualified LP gas dealers to fill or repair your LP gas cylinder. Do not fill the LP gas cylinder more than 80 percent full.
  • Read and follow all of the warnings/instructions on the cylinder and in the package.

DANGER
Spare LP gas cylinders should never be kept near your fryer. Excess pressure could be released by the vapor relief valve, resulting in a fire, an explosion, or serious physical injury, including death.

NOTE:
PROPANE GAS IS HEAVIER THAN AIR AND WILL COLLECT IN LIMITED SPACE. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: PROPER VENTILATION

Keep the LP gas cylinder enclosure’s ventilation opening(s) free and clear of debris. DO NOT USE THE OUTLET OF THE VALVE TO INSERT ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS. Back-check damage is a possibility. A leaking back-check can lead to an explosion, a fire, serious personal injury, bodily harm, or death.

WARNING
FILLING THE LP GAS CYLINDER:

  • Only allow qualified LP gas merchants to fill or service your cylinder.
  • If you’re using a new tank, be sure it’s been purged before filling.
  • Allow no more than 80% of the cylinder to be filled. Tanks that have been overfilled can be hazardous.
  • Overfilled tanks might cause the relief valve to release propane gas vapors due to pressure build-up.
  • Because the vapor is flammable, it could explode if it comes into touch with a spark or flame, resulting in serious burns, physical damage, or death.
  • When the cooker is not connected to the cylinder, always use a cylinder cap to safeguard it.
  • If you’re exchanging a cylinder through an approved exchange program, be sure it includes a Type-1 valve and an overfill prevention device (OPD)

WARNING
LP GAS CYLINDER (NOT SUPPLIED WITH THIS APPLIANCE): A 20 lb (9.1 kg) capacity LP (Liquid Propane) gas cylinder with a Type-1 cylinder valve and an over- filling protection system must be used with this fryer (OPD). DO NOT use Left Hand Threads to connect this cooker to an existing #510 POL cylinder valve. Large exterior threads on the valve outlet identify a Type-1 valve. Connecting to a propane cylinder with a capacity greater than this is not recommended.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING
Do not use detergents containing acids, white spirits, or xylene to clean the fryer. Bleach and cleaners with chlorine will stain and damage stainless steel. Don’t leave dirty water and cleaning solution residues to dry on your stainless steel; it will create a dull finish and could leave permanent stains.

Clean The Wire Mesh Baskets
Remove the wire mesh baskets, and wash with mild detergent and warm water. If any of these parts have been baked on grease or food, allow the parts to soak in detergent water for at least 10 minutes before scrubbing with a non- abrasive sponge or with soft nylon brushes while the detergent bath helps remove more stubborn contaminants. Rinse it with clean water and remove the excess water with the help of a soft cloth.

Clean The Oil Tank
First, you must drain all the oil and loosen the sludge from the tank wash it with mild detergent and warm water deep it in for 10 minutes then drain out the water Once all the water has drained out, use your cleaning rags to wipe off any stubborn grime and sludge. Now, you can let your cleaner do all the hard work. You can mix your cleaner. Fill your tank with water and add the cleaner after, Use the non-abrasive sponge to clean the outside and inside of the oil tank then drain out the water, and remove the excess water. Dry the tank and refill the oil if you want.

Clean The Tank Lids
Soak the tank lids in warm, soapy water to help break down the grease. Use a gentle brush and scraper to remove as much buildup as you can without damaging the oil tank lid. Use paper towels to soak up excess oil and wipe away debris.

Clean The Stainless-Steel Parts
Bioexcel fryers are made with 304 stainless steel. To clean these parts, We recommend that you use a stainless-steel cleaner or dip a soft cloth in warm water mixed with a mild dish detergent.Rinse well after cleaning the fryer.outside and inside of the oil tank then drain out the water, and remove the excess water. Dry the tank and refill the oil if you want.

Clean The Fryer Outside
To clean stainless steel, use a soft cloth soaked in a solution of water and soap or with mild dish detergent. Rub gently when the fryer is completely cold. Wipe away the soap with a clean damp cloth. Turn the appliance upside down and use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe down the heating element. If there is any baked-on or hard residue on the main appliance use stainless steel cleaner or dish soap and scrub it into the residue using a soft-bristle scrub brush and wipe away with a clean cloth.

ATTENTION:
Steels subjected to high temperatures and direct flames tend to change color on the surface. This is an inherent feature of the material.

Protect Stainless Steel
To better protect the stainless-steel parts, we suggest using Vaseline or olive oil, or baby oil as substitutes. In the case of beachfront installations, to avoid salty air corrosion and white thin layers, often clean the fryer with fresh water and dry it with a soft clean microfiber cloth rather than letting it air dry.

Remove Rust Spots
Stainless steel is rust-proof but in some cases (humidity, salty air, sea spray…) some rust stains might appear. Use a rust remover to make your fryer shiny and new once again.

Gas Burner
The gas burner must be cleaned from time to time by removing food residues with the help of a brush. When cleaning valves and burners, be careful not to damage the burner and not to enlarge the holes.
