Product Information
The Garten Furniture Oil is a high-quality product designed for exterior use. It is easy to use and provides deep penetration into wood surfaces. The oil is formulated with natural plant oils such as sunflower oil and soybean oil, along with iron oxide and organic pigments. It also contains siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives. The oil does not contain any volatile components such as benzene-free white spirit, making it safe to use. The oil does not exceed the VOC limit according to EU-regulation (2004/42/EC). A detailed declaration of ingredients is available upon request. The product can be stored for 5 years or longer if kept in the closed original can. If the oil thickens due to frost, it should be stored at room temperature for 24 hours before use. It is important to note that the final appearance of the treated surface may vary depending on factors such as the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is recommended, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Product Usage Instructions

Cleaning of Tools: After use, clean tools with Osmo Brush Cleaner, which is free of aromatic compounds.

UV Protection: The Garten Furniture Oil is clear and does not provide UV protection. This means that the wood may grey over time when exposed to sunlight.

Application on Ribbed or Rough Saw Wood
Surfaces: These types of wood surfaces tend to absorb more product due to their surface properties. -
Water-Soluble Coloured Extractives: Some wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives that may naturally leach out when exposed to weathering.

Caution: Keep the product out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. If medical advice is needed, have the product container or label at hand. Use the product outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.

Warning: Wash any used cloth impregnated with the product immediately after use or store it in an airtight container to prevent self-ignition. The dried finish is classified as B2 (normal flammability) according to DIN 4102 regulations.

Disposal: Dispose of leftover product and completely emptied packaging according to local official guidelines. Only completely emptied cans can be recycled (waste code number 08 01 12).

GARDEN FURNITURE OIL
Easy to use and high coverage – deeply penetrates wood!
Product Description
Clear oil-based wood stain for all wood in outdoor areas. Microporous stain allows the wood to breathe and reduces swelling and shrinkage. Water- repellent, extremely weatherproof, and UV-stable. Will not crack, peel, flake or blister. Simply recoat without sanding or primer. Easy and seamless application. The wood stain stays workable while coating. The dry wood stain is safe for humans, animals, and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration acc. German DIN 53160, suitable for children’s toys acc. EN 71.3).
Recommended use:
Osmo Garden Furniture Oil protects, maintains, and improves the appearance of
garden furniture made of Teak and other hardwoods – in covered outdoor areas.
It is also well-suited for the clear treatment of garden furniture and other
similarly used surfaces.
Ingredients:
Based on natural plant oils (sunflower oil and soybean oil), iron oxide and
organic pigments, siccatives (drying agents), and water repellent additives.
Volatile components: dearomatized white spirit (benzene-free). VOC limit
according to EU regulation (2004/42/EC): out of scope. Detailed declarations
of ingredients are available upon request.

Storage:
5 years and longer if stored in the closed original can. If thickened by
frost, store at room temperature for 24 hours prior to use.
Surface Preparation
Wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off (min. 4 weeks) before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Clean-er and Thinner (degreaser). Resinous wood, such as Larch or Douglas Fir, needs to weather off for at least 6 weeks. Pressure-impregnated wood, Massa- Iranduba, Bangkirai or Garapa need to weather off for at least 3 months. De- grey any already greyed wood with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying Osmo Garden Furniture Oil. Wood surface must be clean, dry, and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%). Osmo Garden Furniture Oil is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Thoroughly clean or lightly sand old microporous stains or completely remove old varnishes before application. Always wear a dust mask while sanding. If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation. If additional protection against blue stain, rot, and insect attack is desired, pre-treat the wood, if possible on all sides, with Osmo WR Impregnation. The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Methods of Application
With a stiff brush (Osmo Flat Brush) or a lint-free cloth, apply thinly and
evenly to the clean and dry wood surface. Always work with wood grain. Apply
thinly and evenly. Ventilate well while drying. Then apply the second coat –
also thinly.
Cleaning of tools:
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).
Drying time:
Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/ 50 % rel. humidity).
Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may
increase drying times. After 2-3 weeks, the surface is fully cured.
Coverage:
Product coverage for 1 coat is 24 m²/l. It depends significantly on the
character of the wood. All informa-tion refers to smooth and planned/cut
surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to deviations in coverage.
Note:
Osmo Garden Furniture Oil is clear; therefore it offers no UV protection
(greying). Due to their surface properties, ribbed or rough saw wood surfaces
absorb more product. Many wood species contain water-soluble colored
extractives which may leach out naturally when weathered.
