About your phone

Setting up your phone

Your phone already has a SIM card installed. For optimal functionality of your new device, please use the pre-installed SIM card. To insert a microSD card or replace the SIM card, follow these steps:

Step 1. Remove the back cover.

Using a coin, rotate the back cover screw counterclockwise several times to loosen it.

NOTE: The back cover screw is permanently mounted on the cover and should not be removed

Insert your fingernail into the notch at the bottom of the back cover and lift the cover.

Step 2. Insert a micro SDTM card (optional).

NOTE: microSD cards are sold separately.

Locate the SIM/microSD card slot inside the battery compartment and pull the card tray out of the slot.

Put the tray onto a flat surface and place a microSD card into the tray. Ensure the gold contacts are facing down as shown.

Insert the tray into the SIM/microSD card slot, being careful not to let the cards slide out. Then gently push the tray back into the slot until it fits into place.

Step 3. Insert the battery.

Unlock the battery latch by sliding it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the picture below.

Insert the battery, making sure to align the gold contacts. Press down gently to secure the battery

Tip: Remove the battery.
With the battery latch unlocked, hold the phone with one hand and tap it gently against your other hand to dislodge the battery

Step 4. Replace the back cover.
Insert the top edge of the cover into place first before pressing the rest of the cover down.

NOTE: The back cover will not close properly unless the battery latch is in the locked position.

Press all around the edges of the back cover as shown below, starting at the top and working your way down along each side, as shown below. Make sure all the tabs are secure and there are no gaps between the cover and the phone.

Using a coin, rotate the back cover screw to secure it. Do not overtighten.

Step 5. Charge your phone.
Before turning on your phone, charge it fully.

NOTE: Only insert a USB Type-C connector into the phone’s USB/ Charger port.

Open the USB/Charger port cover and insert the smaller end of the USB cable (included) into the phone. Insert the other end of the cable into a compatible AC adapter (sold separately) and plug the adapter into a power outlet.

When charging is complete, remove the cable from the port and close the cover securely. Unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet to conserve energy

WARNING: Do not use the phone under water if the back cover or USB/ Charger port cover is broken or open.

Turning your phone on
To turn your phone on, press and hold the Power key.

Turning your phone off

  1. Press and hold the Power key until the phone options are displayed.
  2. Tap Power off to turn the phone off.

Locking/unlocking the screen

To turn on your screen, press the Power key , then:

Swipe up to open the Home screen.
Swipe left to open the Camera app.
Swipe right to launch Google Assistant.

To turn off your screen and prevent accidental key presses, press the Power key.

Accessing apps

  1. From the Home screen, tap an app icon that you want to open.

– or –

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the Home screen to open the Apps launcher screen.
  2. Tap ▼ to hide the keyboard if necessary, and then tap an app icon to open it.
    – or –
    Enter the app name you want to access in the search field, and then select your desired app

Making a call

Using the dial pad:

  1. From the Home screen, tap to open the phone app.
  2. Tap DIALPAD on the bottom left of the screen.
  3. Tap the number keys on the dial pad to enter the phone number.
  4. Tap to call the number.
  5. To end the call, tap .

From Contacts list:

  1. From the Home screen, tap .
  2. Tap CONTACTS to display your contacts list.
  3. Tap the contact you want to call.
  4. Tap to call the number.
