Product overview
KYOCERA Cloud Connect is a licensed HyPAS application that is installed and accessed from the operation panel of a HyPAS-enabled printer. With this application, you can link one or more accounts of select cloud services and do any of the following:

Print files currently stored in your account

Scan and upload files to your account
The following cloud services are supported: -
Google Drive
You can only access files that have been uploaded through KYOCERA Cloud Connect version 10.
- Evernote
- OneDrive for Business

This guide helps you use the different features of KYOCERA Cloud Connect.
This guide is intended for all users.
For more information about installing the application on a supported printer,
see KYOCERA Cloud Connect Installation Guide.
Conventions
The following conventions may be used in this guide:
- Bold text is used for menu items and buttons
- Screen, text box, and drop-down menu titles are spelled and punctuated exactly as they are displayed on the screen
- Italics are used for document titles
- Icons are used to draw your attention to certain pieces of information. Examples:
This is a NOTE icon. This indicates information that is useful to know.
This is a CAUTION icon. This indicates important information that you should
know, including such things as data loss if the procedure is not done
properly.
System requirements
Refer to the Release Notes or ReadMe that accompany this product.
Accessing and configuring the application
The application can be accessed from the home screen of your printer operation panel.
- If the application is not available in the home screen, go to your printer system settings then make sure that the application is listed and activated.
- The features in this application require internet access. Before using the application, if applicable, make sure that your printer proxy settings are correct.
From the printer operation panel, select KYOCERA Cloud Connect.
If this is your first time to open the application or if you just updated the
application, read and accept the terms of service.
2 Select Settings, then select any of the following:
You must have administrator access on your printer
Menu | Description |
---|
Proxy Settings If this is your first time to open the application, this menu
displays automatically.| Review your printer proxy information. If your
network proxy requires a username and password, enter the credentials.
To modify your printer proxy information, from the printer operation panel,
go to your network or communication settings. Menus and buttons may vary
depending on your printer. If required, enter your administrator credentials.
Application Settings| Select either of the following to set sign-in controls:
Display “Stay signed in”
Allow users to retain the cloud service account in the application for use at
a later time.
Allow PIN login
Allow users to set a security PIN to sign in to a specific cloud service
account.
Terms of Service| Read the software license agreement.
Access OneDrive for Business| Allow users to access your OneDrive for Business
account. Follow the instructions on your screen.
Make sure that:
• You have your correct OneDrive for Business administrator account
credentials.
• You have read and understood the access rights.
To manage settings remotely, access HyPAS Device Online by entering https://123.123.123.123:8083/, where 123.123.123.123 is the IP address of your printer with KYOCERA Cloud Connect installed.
In the application home screen, you can access the following supported cloud services:
- Google Drive
- Evernote
- OneDrive for Business
In any part of KYOCERA Cloud Connect, you can select any of the following:
Home
Return to the application home screen.
Logout
Log out of the current user account and return to the cloud service login
page.
Exit
Quit the application and return to the home screen of your printer operation
panel.
Using the cloud services
The features in this application require internet access. Before using the application, if applicable, make sure that your printer proxy settings are correct.
Authenticating your cloud services accounts
Before you begin, make sure that you have your cloud service account
credentials ready.
To authenticate your Google account in KYOCERA Cloud Connect, make sure that
you have access to a separate device, such as a phone or tablet, that is
connected to the internet.
- From the printer operation panel, select KYOCERA Cloud Connect.
- Select any of the following:
- Connect to Google
- Connect to Evernote
- Connect to Microsoft
You can select Don’t show this page again to set the selected cloud service as
the default every time you open KYOCERA Cloud Connect.
Sign in with your account credentials, then follow the instructions on the
panel.
- You may be asked to review terms and conditions of use.
- You may be asked to allow the application to access your cloud service account.
- For Evernote, you may also create new accounts.
- For Microsoft, only OneDrive for Business accounts are supported. Make sure that OneDrive for Business is configured. For more information, see Accessing and configuring the application.
- For Google, authentication is required on a separate device such as a phone or tablet that is connected to the internet. Follow the instructions on the printer operation panel and on the separate device.
- To have easier access to any of your cloud services accounts in this application, you can set either of the following, if enabled by your administrator in Settings:
Set up a PIN
After signing in to your cloud service account, you can set an optional
4-digit PIN.
- Your PIN may expire after a limited time, depending on your cloud service.
- If your PIN has been locked, forgotten, or has expired, select the appropriate option to reset your PIN. Follow the instructions on your screen.
Stay signed in
While using any cloud service, you can select this option to keep the current
account active for a limited time, until you log out of the account, or close
the application.
If account authentication is successful, then the scan and print options become available. If account authentication is unsuccessful, then make sure that:
- Your account credentials are correct.
- The correct cloud service root certificates are registered. For more information, see KYOCERA Cloud Connect Installation Guide or contact your system administrator.
- Your printer is connected to the internet and, if applicable, has correct proxy settings. For more information, contact your system administrator.
Scanning
Menus and settings may vary depending on the application version, cloud service, or printer.

Place your items face-down on the scanner glass or face-up on the document feeder.

From the printer operation panel, select KYOCERA Cloud Connect, then do any of the following:
• Select a cloud service, then sign in to your account.
• Select your saved cloud service account, and if necessary, enter your account credentials. -
In Scan, select the option to add new content.
Follow the instructions and navigation options on the panel, and modify the available settings including:
- File name
- Scan destination
For Google, you cannot change the scan destination. Files are saved only in the root directory.
- Scan settings
Select Start Scan.
You can view the scanned output in your cloud service application.
Menus and settings may vary depending on the application version, cloud service, or printer.

Make sure that paper is loaded correctly in the cassettes or manual paper feeder. For more information on loading paper correctly, see your printer Operation Guide.

From the printer operation panel, select KYOCERA Cloud Connect, then do any of the following:
• Select a cloud service, then sign in to your account.
• Select your saved cloud service account, and if necessary, enter your account credentials. -
In Print, select any of the available options to browse for your file.

Select your file, then select Next.
• You can use the search feature to find any of the supported files.
• If your file is not listed, the file type may not be supported by KYOCERA Cloud Connect. Access and print your file from a computer.
• For Google, you can only access files in the root directory that have been uploaded through KYOCERA Cloud Connect version 10. If you have moved these files from the root directory to another location, use the search feature to find your file. -
Review or modify any of the available printing options including:
• Paper source
• Color options
• Layout, finishing, or publishing options -
Select Start Print.
If an error occurs during printing, follow the instructions on the panel to resolve any issues and continue printing.
Removing your deactivated or deleted cloud service account
When you deactivate or delete any of your cloud service accounts in another
platform, for example, a web browser or a mobile app, some of your cloud
service account information may still be available in KYOCERA Cloud Connect.

To ensure that your deactivated or deleted account is properly removed from KYOCERA Cloud Connect, do any of the following:
• In KYOCERA Cloud Connect, sign out of your cloud service account.
• Exit KYOCERA Cloud Connect.
• Turn off then restart your printer. -
In KYOCERA Cloud Connect, select the respective cloud service, then check that your account is not listed.
Troubleshooting
The following table includes the most common problems that users may encounter when configuring or using the application. If your problem is not listed, contact a qualified service personnel or your system administrator.

by the application.
• For Google, you can only access files in the root directory that have been
uploaded through KYOCERA Cloud Connect version 10.| • Access and print your
file from a computer.
• For Google, use the search feature in KYOCERA Cloud Connect to find your
file. You can also access your Google Drive from a separate device such as a
phone or tablet, then mark your file as a favorite. In KYOCERA Cloud Connect,
select the Google cloud service, then in Print, select Starred to locate your
file marked as a favorite.
I can’t specify the scan destination in Google Drive.| This is a limitation
in KYOCERA Cloud Connect. For Google, files are saved in the root directory.|
Scan your files to Google Drive using KYOCERA Cloud Connect, then access your
Google Drive from a separate device, such as a phone or tablet, to manage the
file location.
I can’t sign in to my cloud service account.| • Your printer is not connected
to the internet.
• You have incorrectly entered your account credentials.
• For Microsoft, only OneDrive for Business accounts are supported.
• For Google, authentication is required on a separate device such as a phone
or tablet that is connected to the internet.
• Your cloud service root certificates have expired or have not been
registered.| • Review or modify the network and proxy settings of the printer
and application.
You may need to restart your printer after modifying the settings.
• Make sure that your account credentials are correct.
• For Microsoft, make sure that you are using a valid OneDrive for Business
account with access set up by your system administrator in Settings.
• For Google, follow the instructions on the printer operation panel and on
the separate device.
• Register the correct cloud service root certificates. For more information,
see KYOCERA Cloud Connect Installation Guide.
For more information, contact your system administrator.
After going through the Google account selection page, I see a sign-in error
about JavaScript being unsupported or turned off.| The native browser of your
printer does not support the account selection page of Google.| • Select the
logout option. In the Google sign-in page, make sure that Stay signed in is
not selected.
• If the Google account selection page is shown, select Add another account to
sign in and bypass the JavaScript requirement.
After selecting the application from my printer operation panel, I see an
error about a browser problem.| The application may not function properly
with the Chromium-based NetFront browser of your printer.| Update the printer
browser firmware to a WebKit-based version.
For more information, contact your system administrator.
While using the application, I see a communication error.| • You may have
problems with your network or network settings.
• Your cloud service root certificates have expired or have not been
registered.| • Check the network connection between your access point and your
printer.
• Review or modify the network and proxy settings of the printer and
application.
You may need to restart your printer after modifying the settings.
• Register the correct cloud service root certificates. For more information,
see KYOCERA Cloud Connect Installation Guide.
