Drops: Most smartphone drops are from pockets. Drop it over and over outside onto the sidewalk, no problem.
The DuraSport 5G was tested to meet the minimum criteria with drops of ~5ft (1.5m) on to concrete.

Waterproof (IPX6/IPX8): use it in your pool (up to 6.5 feet (2m) for 30 minutes), take some great pics. Kyocera has been doing waterproof for more than a decade. Other devices may be water resistant, but Kyocera’s is designed to function (and thrive) in water, rather than simply withstand water. Avoid saltwater, as it is corrosive. (User Guide states to wash it immediately if exposed to salt water)

Dust (IP6X): Certifies the devices is completely dust tight.

Shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, immersion, temperature shock and icing/freezing rain.

Wet & Glove Touch Operation

Use it with gloves up to 3mm thick, even in sleet and snow. Extreme weather in the field is no match for DURASPORT 5G. Wet touch means your screen remains operational when your hands or device screen is wet. In Underwater mode, physical keys are used instead of the touchscreen.

Note: Glove Touch is turned off by default and must be enabled for use.

Rain, snow and other wet and extreme conditions are no match for your smartphone’s screen; keeping you connected wherever you are, whatever the weather.

Glove touch mode

Glove touch mode automatically detects when you are wearing gloves. In this mode the sensitivity of the screen is increased to improve touch detection through the glove material.

Pocket mode

Helps prevent unintended touch operation in your pocket or bag.
