One keyboard, all your devices. Keys-to-Go is a portable, wireless, Bluetooth keyboard that seamlessly works with all of your Apple devices, including your mobile devices, computer, and smart TV.

Set up your product

1. Turn on the keyboard:

Bluetooth discovery starts automatically and continues for 15 minutes. The status light blinks blue.
If the status light briefly turns red, charge the battery. For more information, see “Charge the battery.”

2. Establish Bluetooth connection:

On your iPad, make sure Bluetooth is on.
Select Settings > Bluetooth > On.
Select “Keys-To-Go” from the Devices menu.
Tip: If “Keys-To-Go” isn’t in the list, try pressing and holding the Bluetooth connect key on your keyboard for 2 seconds.

Charge the battery

You should charge the battery when:

  • The status light turns red briefly when you turn on the keyboard, or
  • The status light blinks red when you press the battery check key:

A fully charged battery provides about 3 months of power when the keyboard is used about two hours a day

Charging your battery

1. Use the micro-USB charging cable provided to connect the keyboard to your computer or a USB power adaptor.

The status light blinks green while the keyboard is charging.

2. Charge your keyboard until the status  light turns solid green.
Each minute of charging gives you about two hours’ use.

Note: This ratio is approximate and is based on the standard user experience. Your result may vary.
It takes 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery.

Note:

  • To select a function key, press and hold the Fn key, and then press the key indicated above.

Use your product

Status light indications

Light Description
Blinking green  The battery is charging.
Solid green  When charging, indicates that the battery is fully charged

(100%).
When you press the battery check key, solid green for 2 seconds indicates that the battery power is good (above 20%).
Blinking red|  Battery power is low (less than 20%). Recharge the battery.
Solid red|  When you first turn on your keyboard, the status light shows solid red briefly if battery power is low.
Blinking blue|  Fast: The keyboard is in discovery mode, ready for pairing.
Slow: The keyboard is trying to reconnect to your iPad.
Solid blue|  Bluetooth pairing or reconnection is successful.

Connecting to a different iOS device

  1. Make sure the keyboard is turned on.

  2. On your iOS device, check that Bluetooth is turned on.
    Select Settings > Bluetooth > On.

  3. Press and hold the Bluetooth connect key on the keyboard for 2 seconds. The keyboard turns discoverable for 3 minutes.

  4. Select “Keys-To-Go” from the Devices menu.

  • When you’ve finished using your product
  • When not in use, turn off the keyboard to conserve battery power.

Note: The keyboard enters sleep mode if powered on and not used for 2 hours. To exit sleep mode, press any key.

Battery disposal at product end of life

1. Cut along the fabric at the top edge of the keyboard:

2. Use a screwdriver to pry the fabric away from the area around the on/off switch:

3. Separate the inner and outer fabric layers, and pull them away from the corner:

Troubleshooting

The keyboard does not work

  • Press any key to wake the keyboard from sleep mode.
  • Turn the keyboard Off and then back On.
  • Recharge the internal battery. For more information, see “Charge the battery.”
  • Re-establish the Bluetooth connection between the keyboard and your iPad:
  • On your iPad, check that Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Press and hold the Bluetooth connect key on your keyboard for 2 seconds.
  • Choose “Keys-To-Go” from the Devices menu on your iPad.
    The status light briefly turns blue after the Bluetooth connection is made.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Battery life and charging for the Keys-To-Go keyboard****

The Keys-To-Go keyboard uses a micro USB cable to charge the battery. To charge the keyboard, connect the included cable to any USB power source. Charging times may differ depending on the power source.

The battery life of your keyboard varies with usage. On average, the battery charge will last up to three months when used for about two hours a day.

iOS-specific function keys on the Keys-To-Go keyboard****

Your keyboard has special function keys and hot keys that perform iOS-specific functions.

Function keys To select a function key, hold down the  fn  key, and then press one of the keys listed in the table below.

NOTE: You don’t need to press the  fn  key to activate hot key functions.

Keys-To-Go keyboard LED status indicators****

Your keyboard has an LED on the top right to indicate Bluetooth and battery status. You can also press the key with the battery icon on the top right of the keyboard to show the current battery status.

Power and battery
– Green, blinking — battery is charging.
– Green, solid — battery is charged.
– Red, solid — battery is low (less than 20%). You should charge your tablet keyboard when you can.

Bluetooth
– Blue, quickly blinking — keyboard is in discovery mode, ready for pairing.
– Blue, slowly blinking — keyboard is trying to reconnect to your Apple device.
– Blue, solid — pairing or connection is successful. The light then turns off to save energy.

Use the arrow keys to scroll on the Keys-To-Go keyboard****

The arrow keys on your keyboard will function in an application only if the app developer has configured it to use keyboard keys.

If you have questions about how the arrow keys function within an application, and if they can be used to scroll, see the documentation for the app or contact the developer.

NOTE: Most current iPad and iPhone apps rely on gesture commands to scroll and don’t support arrow-key scrolling.

This product was designed for use with these devices:
– iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV
NOTE: Keyboard function and special keys may not work as intended with non- Apple devices.

Use the Keys-To-Go keyboard****

Connect for the first time

iPad/iPhone
1. Turn on the keyboard. On first connection, your keyboard enters Bluetooth discovery mode. The status indicator will blink blue rapidly.
2. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your iPad or iPhone and select “Keys-To- Go” in the  Devices  list. Once the connection is made, the status indicator will turn solid blue. Your keyboard is ready to use.

Apple TV
1. On your Apple TV, go to  Settings > General > Bluetooth and select “Keys-To-Go”.
2. When prompted, enter the pairing code on the keyboard and press the Return  or  Enter  key. The Apple TV will confirm that the pairing process is complete.

Connect to a different iPad or iPhone
If you’ve already connected the Keys-To-Go to one device and want to connect it to another device:
1. Turn on the keyboard. You should see the status indicator glow green, and then blink blue.
2. Press the Bluetooth connection button on the right side of the keyboard for two seconds to make your keyboard discoverable. The status indicator should blink blue rapidly.
3. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your iPad and select “Keys-To-Go” in the Devices  list. Once the connection is made, the status indicator will turn solid blue. Your keyboard is now ready to use

Resolve connectivity issues with the Keys-To-Go keyboard****

– Go to the Bluetooth settings on your device and check if Bluetooth is active.
– Make sure your keyboard is charged. Turn your keyboard on by sliding the switch on the side of the keyboard to the On position. The status indicator will be red if your keyboard has less than 20% battery life left. Connect it to a power source.
– Try moving away from other wireless or Bluetooth sources — you could be experiencing interference.
– On your device, turn Bluetooth off and then back on again.
– Try un-pairing and re-pairing your keyboard with your device. Here’s how:

iPad/iPhone
1. On your iPad or iPhone, tap  Settings  and then  Bluetooth.
2. Find “Keys-To-Go” in the  Devices  list, tap the arrow to the right and then tap  Forget this device.
3. Turn your keyboard on and press the Bluetooth connection button on the right side of the keyboard for two seconds to put it into discovery mode.
4. On your iPad or iPhone, tap  Settings  and then  Bluetooth settings, find “Keys-To-Go” in the  Devices  list, and select it. Once the connection is made, the indicator will turn solid blue. Your keyboard is ready to use.

Apple TV
1. On your Apple TV, go to  Settings > General > Bluetooth.
2. Select “Keys-To-Go” and then select  Forget this device.
3. Turn your keyboard on and press the Bluetooth connection button on the right side of the keyboard for two seconds to put it into discovery mode.
4. On your Apple TV, go to  Settings > General > Bluetooth and select “Keys-To-Go”.
5. When prompted, enter the pairing code on the Keys-To-Go keyboard and press the  Return  or  Enter  key. The Apple TV will confirm that the pairing process is complete.

What devices fit in the Keys-To-Go Stand?****

All generations of iPhones (without cases) will comfortably rest on the Keys- To-Go stand.
