Product Information

Stylus Cleaning Fluid

The stylus cleaning fluid is a colorless liquid used for cleaning the stylus of a cartridge. It contains the following components:

  • 99.50% Isopropyl-Alcohol (I.P.A.) CAS: 67-63-0
  • 0.50% Polyamide + Silicon Dioxide (Antistatic & Lubricant Agent) CAS: 15468-32-3

The fluid is non-toxic and does not pose any environmental hazards. However, it should be handled with care to avoid eye contact and prolonged skin exposure. In case of accidental contact, rinse eyes with plenty of water and flush skin with water and soap.

Mirrored SME Alignment Tool

The mirrored SME alignment tool is used for precise alignment of the cartridge in the pick-up arm to ensure accurate tracking of record grooves and improved playback quality. The tool helps in reducing tracking errors and provides better sound quality.

The method of use for the SME alignment tool is as follows:

  1. Place the tool over the fixed platter using the center spindle.
  2. Turn the tool in the direction of the pick-up arm.
  3. Checkpoint B – Cartridge Angle:
    • Move the alignment tool and the pick-up arm until the needle of the cartridge points precisely at point B.
    • Check if the side edges of the cartridge are running parallel to the imprinted lines of the SME alignment tool.
    • If the edges are not parallel, adjust the cartridge sideways in the headshell until they align with the imprinted lines.
  4. Checkpoint A – Stylus Overhang:
    • Repeat the same procedure at checkpoint A.
    • Move the cartridge forward or backward in the long holes of the headshell until it is parallel to the imprinted lines.
    • Compare and adjust both checkpoint A and B until the cartridge is parallel to the imprinted lines of the SME alignment tool in both points.
  5. Once the desired alignment is achieved, tighten the screws carefully using the included metal screwdriver.
  6. Check the alignment in both points again. If the calibration points are still correct, the alignment is completed.

Spirit Level

The spirit level is used for ensuring a solid and level placement of the turntable, which is crucial for precise record groove tracking and sound quality. A level placement reduces needle sway and record wear, resulting in crystal clear sound.

To use the spirit level:

  1. Place the spirit level as shown in the picture.
  2. Observe the bubble inside the spirit level window.
  3. Adjust the turntable position so the bubble stands exactly in the middle of the scale.
  4. Once the bubble is centered, the turntable is perfectly leveled.

Stylus Tracking Force Gauge / Scale

The stylus tracking force gauge/scale is used to set the proper downward pressure applied by the tonearm weight through the cartridge onto the vinyl record. This correct tracking force reduces the risk of mistracking, excessive record wear, and maximizes playback performance.

MANUAL

MIRRORED SME ALIGNMENT TOOL
The mirrored SME alignment tool allows precise alignment of the cartridge in the pick-up arm for ultimate precision in record grove tracking. Lower tracking error leads to better playback quality.

METHOD OF USE:
Place the SME alignment tool over the fixed platter using the center spindle and turn it in direction of pick-up arm.

Checkpoint „B“ – Cartridge Angle

  1. Move the alignment tool and the pick-up arm until the needle of the cartridge points precisely at point „B“. Check if the side edges of the cartridge are running parallel to the imprinted lines of the SME alignment tool.
If so go to point 3

  2. In case the edges are not running parallel, the cartridge needs to be moved sideways in the headshell, until the edges are parallel to the imprinted lines of the SME alignment tool. Checkpoint „A“ – stylus overhang

  3. The same procedure is being held at checkpoint „A“. The cartridge is only to be moved forward or backward in the long holes of the headshell, until it’s parallel to the imprinted lines. Compare and adjust Checkpoint “A” and “B” until the cartridge is parallel to the imprinted lines of the SME alignment tool in both points.

  4. Once the cartridge is in desired position, tighten the screws carefully with the included metal screwdriver. Check the alignment in both points again. If the calibrations points are still correct the alignment is completed.

SPIRIT LEVEL
Precise record groove tracking depends on a solid and level placement of the turntable. The less level placement the more the needle tends to sway toward one side of the groove resulting in sound quality deterioration. The solid and level placement results in much improved track precision, significantly less record wear, and crystal clear sound. Please use the spirit level to have your turntable always leveled.

Method of use:

  1. Place the spirit level as shown on the picture.
  2. Observe the bubble inside the spirit level window, adjust the turn table position so the bubble will stand exactly in the middle of the scale. Once it is done you have perfect level.

STYLUS TRACKING FORCE GAUGE / SCALE
The tracking force is the downward pressure that is applied by the weight of the tonearm through the cartridge and onto the vinyl record. It is important to set the proper tracking force in order to reduce the risk of mistracking or causing excessive record wear and to maximize the playback performance.

METHOD OF USE:

  1.  Very gently, rest the cartridge (needle) onto the middle of the stylus tracking force gauge tip (1).
  2.  Next, use the tweezers to place the desired counterweight into the holder (2) provided and adjust the tonearm weight until the stylus tracking force gauge is in balance, according to the recommended stylus tracking force.

HEADSHELL ASSEMBLY & CONNECTIONS
Fix the Headshell into the tonearm. Mount the cartridge to the headshell as shown below.

  1. Connect the headshell‘s connecting wires to the cartridge‘s connection and observe the correct wire assignment.
  2. Fix the cartridge mounting screws with the included metal
