Safety instructions

Read these safety instructions, the original operating instructions, the safety instructions provided with the battery pack, and the operating instructions supplied with the battery pack and charger before using the device for the first time. Act in accordance with them. Keep the booklets for future reference or for future owners. In addition to the notes in the operating instructions, you also need to take into consideration the general safety regulations and accident prevention guidelines applicable by law.

General safety instructions

DANGER

  • Risk of asphyxiation. Keep packaging film out of the reach of children.
    WARNING

  •  Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities and persons lacking experience and knowledge may only use the appliance if they are properly supervised, have been instructed on use of the appliance safely by a person responsible for their safety, and understand the resultant hazards involved.

  • Children must not operate the device.

  • Children must be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance.
    Note

  • Do not operate the device when other persons or animals are in the work area.

Safety instructions

  • Never fully immerse the device in liquids.
  • Only operate the device outdoors.
  • Regularly check the device for damage. Do not operate the device if you discover visible damage.
  • Do not reach into the blower tube or the blower in the device.
  • Never operate the device without the blower tube installed.
  • Do not cover the air intake opening.
  • Keep loose clothing away from the air intake opening.
  • Observe the safety instructions provided with the battery pack.
  • Read through the instructions carefully. Familiarise yourself with the controls and the correct use of the device.
  • Never allow the device to be used by persons who are unfamiliar with these instructions. The age of the operator may be limited by local regulations.
  • Always wear sturdy footwear and long trousers when operating the device.
  • Do not wear loose clothes or jewelry which can be suctioned into the air inlet. Keep long hair away from the air inlets.
  • Wear suitable safety goggles during operation.
  • Only operate the device in daylight or under good artificial lighting.
  • Do not overextend yourself and keep your balance at all times.
  • Always ensure that you have good footing on slopes.
  • Walk with the device, do not run.
  • Keep all cooling inlets free of dirt.
  • Never blow dirt in the direction of nearby persons.
  • Tighten all nuts, bolts, and screws to ensure that the device is in a safe operating state.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts.
  • Only use original spare parts and accessories.

Intended use

WARNING Risk of injury from flying particles Use the leaf blower only when this does not endanger other persons in the vicinity. The device is intended for blowing leaf litter, grass clippings, hedge clipping, and loose dirt lying on the ground. Only use the device in private households.
Foreseeable misuse
Any type of improper use is prohibited. The operating personnel is liable for damage resulting from incorrect use.

Environmental protection

The packing materials can be recycled. Please dispose of the packaging in accordance with environmental regulations.

Blower pipe installation

  1. Plug the blower tube’s lower section onto the blower tube’s upper section. Illustration C
  2. Turn the blower tube clockwise to lock in position  (bayonet lock).Illustration D
    Turn the blower tube anticlockwise to unlock and remove.

Flat nozzle installation

  1. Plug the flat nozzle onto the blower tube lower section. Illustration B

Initial startup
Inserting the battery pack
ATTENTION

Check the battery mount and the contacts for soiling and clean them as necessary before inserting the battery. Illustration E

  1. Push the battery into the mounting in the device until it audibly latches into place.

Removing the battery
WARNING

Remove the battery pack from the device during work breaks and before carrying out any service or care work. Illustration F

  1. Press the unlocking button.
  2. Remove the battery from the device.

Switch the device on and off
Use the power switch to switch the device on and off.

  1. Slide the power switch forwards to position “1” or “2” (LBL 4 battery only).
    The device starts up.

  2. Slide the power switch backward.
    The device stops.

Note
Always store the device in a dry place and remove the battery pack.

Care and service

The device is maintenance-free.

Troubleshooting guide

Malfunctions often have simple causes that you can remedy yourself using the following overview. When in doubt, or in the case of malfunctions not mentioned here, please contact your authorised Customer Service. As the battery pack ages, even if it is looked after, its capacity reduces such that the full run time will no longer be reached when fully charged. This does not indicate a defect.

Faults on the device
The device does not start up
The battery pack is not inserted correctly.
1. Push the battery pack into the mounting in the device until it audibly latches into place.  The battery pack is discharged.
1. Charge the battery pack.
The battery pack is in sleep mode.
1. Press and hold the power switch longer or press the
power switch a second time.
The battery pack is defective.
1. Replace the battery pack.
The device stops during the operation
The battery has overheated
• Stop working and allow the battery to cool down to the permissible temperature range. This can take a few minutes.

Warranty

The warranty conditions issued by our relevant sales company apply in all countries. We shall remedy possible malfunctions on your appliance within the warranty period free of cost, provided that a material or manufacturing defect is the cause. In a warranty case, please contact your dealer (with the purchase receipt) or the next authorised customer service site. (See overleaf for the address)
