Product Information:

The PS-SDW Parking Sensors are designed to assist with vehicle reversing operations during parking. The sensors detect obstacles and provide visual and audible feedback to the driver. The system includes rubber sensors, a control unit, and an optional display and buzzer.

Specifications:

  • Version: v6.0
  • Power Supply: 12/24Vdc
  • Maximum Reversing Speed: 6 km/h

Product Usage Instructions:

Sensor Installation:

  1. Position the rubber sensors into the rear bumper, ensuring that the up mark is on the top.
  2. For truck application, use the underslung brackets and angled rubber spacer to fit the sensors onto the metal bumper.

Display & Buzzer Installation:

  1. Select a display mounting position that is easy for the driver to see.
  2. Clean the mounting surface with alcohol and use 3M tape to firmly mount the display.

Control Unit Installation:

  1. Connect the red wire from the control unit to the power wire of the back-up light using the E-Shape Contact.
  2. Fix the control unit in a safe place, away from rain, heat, and humidity.
  3. Mount the control module with the wires protruding downwards to prevent water ingress.
  4. Secure all cables with cable ties.

Testing:

After installation, follow these steps to test the system:

  1. Turn the ignition ON (do NOT start the vehicle).
  2. Place the vehicle in reverse gear.
  3. Check the detection range using the table below:
DETECTION RANGE DISPLAY BUZZER
101-250cm Green LED Buzzer does not sound
E.g. 1 Channel CR failed Blinking LED Buzzer sounds intermittently

Important Notice:

  • Read the instructions and technical specifications carefully before installation and usage.

  • Reversing operations must be performed with care and attention, as not all objects may be detected by the sensors.

  • Reversing speed must never exceed 6 km/h.

  • If the buzzer sounds continuously, stop the vehicle as there is an obstacle within 45cm.

  • Disconnect the vehicle battery before performing any connection operations.

  • Installation should be done by a professional installer.

  • Any changes or additions not mentioned in the manual will invalidate the warranty.

  • Regularly clean the sensors to maintain efficiency.
High-pressure water jets may temporarily reduce sensitivity.

  • Avoid positioning the unit, sensors, or cables near heat sources such as the vehicle engine or exhaust.

SPECIAL CASES

EX.

  1. When the car approaches a smooth slope, the slope may not be detected.

  2. The sensors may not detect a small or smooth round pole.

  3. Point A will be detected prior to point B, as it comes closer.
However, point A may fall into the sensors’ blind zone, and point B will be misjudged as the closest point.

  4. The sensors may not detect any sponge-like material obstacle as the ultrasonic wave was absorbed.

  5. Complex situation: point A may not be detected.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Carefully read the instructions and technical specifications.

  • The parking sensors are an aid to vehicle reversing operations during parking. Not all objects are detected by the sensor and consequently reversing operations must be performed with the utmost care and attention.
  • Reversing speed must never exceed 6 km/h.
  • Stop the vehicle when the buzzer sounds continuously as this indicates an obstacle at not more than 45cm from the vehicle.
  • Perform connection operations only AFTER having disconnected the vehicle battery.
  • The unit must only be installed by a professional installer.
  • Any changes or additions made to the system and not expressly shown in this manual shall invalidate the warranty.
  • Clean the sensors regularly. For example, snow or dust can reduce efficiency:
  • In the event of washing with high-pressure water jets, the sensors could temporarily lose part of their sensitivity. This will return once the water has completely evaporated.
  • Do not position the unit, the sensors or the cables near heat sources such as the vehicle engine or exhaust.
