Product Usage Instructions

Features

Description

• CALCIUM HYDROXIDE PASTE VIDU is a calcium hydroxide based, creamy, high radiopaque, syringe form, ready to use, root canal filling material.

Composition

• Calcium hydroxide, barium sulphate, polyethyleneglycol and supplementary agents

Indications

• For use in treating all kinds of canal are appropriate
• Temporary disinfectant dressing, applied during endodontic therapy
• Indirect pulp capping or management of deep caries lesions
• Direct pulp capping
• Indirect pulp capping as the capping paste
• Alleviate pain as temporary filling material

Contraindication

1. Direct pulp capping after exposure of the pulp in carious dentin if;
   • The area of exposure is larger than 1 mm2
   • A completely dry field can not be established
   • The treatment of the tooth can not be completed in one appointment
   • The tooth concerned is already causing discomfort.
2. Direct and indirect pulp capping if the pulp damage is irreversible.
3. CALCIUM HYDROXIDE PASTE VIDU should not be used in patients with a known allergy to any of the ingredients listed.

Application

• Direct and indirect pulp coating as it is applied With the help of application tips, small amounts of paste are dispensed into the mixing block. The calcium hydroxide is then applied to the exposed pulp or the dentine close to the pulp in thin layers and in small patches using a suitable instrument. Subsequently, the surface is sealed with a layer of cavity lining material.
• Temporary disinfectant dressing coating as applied CALCIUM HYDROXIDE PASTE VIDU is introduced directly into the prepared and dried root canal with the enclosed application tip and then spun up the canal to the apical region. Application may be repeated, if necessary. Tight sealing of the endodontic cavity using temporary filling material is essential in order to avoid the contamination of the root canal system which can occur between appointments. Removal of calcium hydroxide is accomplished by a suitable irrigation solution and instrumentation. The CALCIUM HYDROXIDE PASTE VIDU needs to be removed before final obturation.
• Note: It is important to observe contraindications.

Storage

• Store in a cool and dry place.
• Keep the syringe caped at all times, when not in use.

Side effects

• There are no known side effects

Interactions

• CALCIUM HYDROXIDE PASTE VIDU may reduce the detrimental effect exerted on the pulp dentin complex by blocks of cement mixed with acids.

Shelf life

• 2 years from date of manufacture
• Disposal: Disposal must be made according to official regulations. Take to an approved land filler a waste incineration plant, under conditions approved by the local authority. Uncleaned packaging: Disposal must be made according to official regulations

Cautions

• Keep material out of children’s reach! Has irritant properties of Calcium hydroxide; contact of calcium hydroxide with the skin, eyes, and mucous membrane may cause local irritation. If inadvertent contact occurs, rinse with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
