Product Information

This product is a conversion kit designed for rewiring 2-lamp luminaires to operate with LEDVANCE LED TUBE T8 EM, UNIVERSAL, or LEDVANCE LED TUBE T5 AC. The rewiring process must be carried out by a qualified electrician and requires the use of specific tools and materials.

The new wires used for rewiring must comply with the latest versions of EN 50525 and EN 60598-1 standards. They should have a minimum cross-section of 0.4 mm2 and a nominal thickness of 0.5 mm  for insulation. The conversion kit includes the necessary materials for the rewiring process.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the luminaire’s ECG mounting has been removed before starting the rewiring process.
  2. Gather the following tools: wire cutter, wire stripper, and different screwdrivers.
  3. Follow the provided circuit diagram for direct wiring of a 2-lamp luminaire on AC mains.
  4. Step 1: Connect the mains line L to the fuse using a WAGO connector.
  5. Step 2: Connect the second fuse line to both right lamp holders, ensuring correct connection of all ECG clamps.
  6. Step 3: Connect the lines of the left and right lamp holders for lamp 1 and 2.
  7. Step 4: Connect both left lamp holders to the neutral line “N” using WAGO connectors if needed.
  8. Step 5: Remove the ECG.
  9. Step 6: Secure all wires with adhesive sockets and cable ties.
  10. Step 7: After the CE conformity test, attach a new nameplate clearly visible and permanently on the luminaire, removing or covering the old nameplate.
  11. Step 8: Conduct a final visual inspection of all components and ensure that all wires are securely fixed inside the WAGO connectors. Make sure that cables are not pinched during the luminaire mounting. Repair or replace any defective parts if necessary. Re-connect the earth conductor (PE) if needed.

For specific wiring examples with typical ECGs, refer to the user manual’s section “Wiring examples with typical ECG.” Follow the general work steps and connect the lines according to the provided instructions for each ECG type.
