Please observe applicable road vehicle (construction and use) regulations as well as EC/ECE Directives and applicable laws in your country. If parts are fitted which require inspection and/or approval after fitting, take your vehicle to a testing station immediately and have the vehicle papers updated.
Check and if necessary tighten all bolted connections after 50 km.
Standard tightening torques in Nm for bolted connections with strength class 8.8.
For special tightening torques refer to your specialist workshop!
Please take into account that fitting panniers, crash bars, foot peg lowering kits (rider and pillion),Kickstand enlargmentplate, front spoilers and engine guards may restrict the bike’s lean angle!
If modifications are made to the fairing, stem, handlebar, fairing parts, etc., ensure that electrical wiring, brake lines, accelerator and clutch cables are refitted correctly. Check clearance, both sides with full steering lock .
Always disconnect the battery when working on the electrics!
We recommend cutting protective film to size and applying it to impact areas that are likely to be chipped by stones.
Work on the brake system and suspension should always be carried out by a specialist workshop.
The maximum load on luggage racks is 5 kg! Luggage racks Zega Pro TC is 10 kg!
If other original accessories or aftermarket accessories are used, ensure clearance, fitment and do not come into contact with other parts!
Apply conventional lubricant to stainless steel bolts prior to assembly.

Installation and Set-up Tips for Plug & Travel EVO Suspension

Before disassembly:

Make sure that your bike has the current BMW software status for suspension.
Set the ride mode to ‘Road’
Set the suspension to ‘Min’ (to match the position the shock is in out-of-the-box)
Make sure to clear any existing fault codes prior to installing new shocks
Take care to not over-extend or damage wheel position sensors.

Physical installation:

Disassemble the bike to remove the front and rear OEM shocks.
Install the new EVO front and rear shock per the BMW Motorrad Manual.
Connect the plugs on the EVO shocks to the motorcycle.

Calibration and set-up:

Support the bike so that the front and rear wheels are without load or weight.
Ensure that wheel position travel sensors are installed correctly. Battery voltage must remain above 12.6 volts during calibration process by having bike connected to battery charger or engine running. Confirm suspension is set to ‘Min’ and do not change ESA settings until after calibration is complete.
Calibrate the wheel travel sensors using BMW Dealer diagnostic system or GS911 device (with current Software). With the GS911 device, go to function group XSAF Calibration.
Run the ‘Calibrate SAF’ function.

Calibrate the SAF sensors
After replacing the spring elements, the SAF needs to be calibrated.

Calibrate the Electronic Pre-load Adjuster to program the working travel of the preload adjuster.
With the GS911 device, go to function group XSAF Calibration. Run the’Calibrate SAF Spring’function.
Set suspension to ‘Auto’
