Safety instructions for fine spray systems

  • Keep your work area clean, well lit and free from paint or solvent containers, cloths and other flammable materials. Possible danger of spontaneous combustion. Keep functional fire extinguishers / extinguishing equipment available at all times.
  • Ensure good ventilation in the spraying ar-ea and sufficient fresh air in the entire room. Evaporating flammable solvents create an explo-sive environment.
  • Do not spray or clean with materials whose flash point is below 21°C. Use materials based on water, low-volatility hydrocarbons or similar materials. Volatile evaporating solvents create an explosive environment.
  • Do not spray in the vicinity of ignition sources such as static electricity sparks, naked flames, pilot lights, hot objects, motors, cigarettes and sparks from plugging in and unplugging power cables or operating switches. Such spark sourc-es can cause ignition of the surrounding area.
  • Do not spray materials that are not known to be hazardous. Unknown materials can create hazard-ous conditions.
  • Wear additional personal protective equipment such as appropriate protective gloves and pro-tective or respiratory mask when spraying or handling chemicals. Wearing protective equip-ment for appropriate conditions reduces exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Do not spray on yourself, other people or an-imals. Keep your hands and other body parts away from the spray. If it penetrates the skin, seek medical attention immediately. The spray can pene-trate the skin even through a glove and be injected into your body.
  • Do not treat an injection as a simple cut. A high-pressure jet can inject toxins into the body and cause serious injury. In case of skin injection, seek medical attention immediately.
  • Be aware of any hazards of the material being sprayed. Observe the markings on the container or the manufacturer’s information for the spray, including instructions to use personal protec-tive equipment. Follow the manufacturer’s instruc-tions to reduce the risk of fire and injuries caused by toxins, carcinogens, etc.
  • Never spray without the nozzle head fitted. Us-ing a special nozzle insert with the appropriate noz-zle head reduces the likelihood of a high-pressure jet penetrating the skin and injecting toxins into the body.

Residual risks

The machine has been built according to the state-of-the-art and the recognised technical safety require-ments. However, individual residual risks can arise during operation.

  • Furthermore, despite all precautions having been met, some non-obvious residual risks may still re-main.
  • Residual risks can be minimised if the “Safety infor-mation” and the “Proper use” together with the oper-ating manual as a whole are observed.

Start up

Attention!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled before commissioning!

HVLP properties
This device has an HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) system. It ensures increased (paint) material applica-tion with lower consumption.
Important : Do not exceed the maximum working pres-sure of 3 bar.

Connect device

  • The product may only be operated with cleaned, condensate and oil-free compressed air and must not exceed the maximum working pressure of 3 bar at the device.
  • To enable you to regulate the air pressure, the com-pressed air source must be equipped with a (filter) pressure reducer.

You need a flexible compressed air hose with quick coupling and a corresponding compressed air source to operate this device.
Observe the operating and safety instructions of the compressed air source and special instructions for col-our preparation.
Note: Make sure that the working pressure is correct. Excessive working pressure leads to strong fine dis-tribution and entails too rapid liquid evaporation. The surfaces become rough and develop poor adhesive properties. If, on the other hand, the working pres-sure is too low, the paint material will not be sufficient-ly atomised. Wavy surfaces and drop formation are the result.

  • Connect the compressed air hose with quick cou-pling to the compressed air connection (6) of the device. The locking mechanism is automatic.
  • Set the working pressure to 3 bar on the filter pres-sure reducer of the compressed air source.

Prepare spray area

  • Thoroughly cover a generous area around the area to be sprayed. Any uncovered areas or surfaces may otherwise become contaminated.
  • Make sure that the spray surface is clean, dry and free of grease.
  • Roughen smooth surfaces and then remove the sanding dust.

Switching the device on / off Working instructions:

  • Insert the filter into the gun (see Fig. C).
  • Open the aspiration (1) while it is working.
  • When diluting, make sure that the spray material and dilution match. If the wrong thinner is used, lumps may form and as a result the gun may clog.
  • Screw the flow cup (3) clockwise onto the gun.
  • Fill the spray material into the flow cup (3) and screw the cover (2) tight.
  • Always keep the paint spray gun at the same dis-tance from the object. The ideal spraying distance is approx. 15 cm.
  • Determine the appropriate settings in each case by trial and error.
  • Do not switch the device on/off over the spray area, but start and end the spraying process approx. 10 cm outside the spray area.
  • To switch on, press and hold the trigger lever (8).
  • Release the trigger lever (8) again to end the op-eration.

Set the colour beam
The device has omnidirectional and broad-beam set-tings.

Adjust the omnidirectional beam:

  • Use the omnidirectional beam for small areas, cor-ners and edges, for example.
  • Turn the regulator (5) clockwise.
  • Set wide beam:
  • • Use the wide jet vertically and horizontally for larg-er areas.
    • Turn the regulator (5) anti-clockwise.
The nozzle head (9) can be continuously adjusted vertically and horizontally by turning it to the desired position.

Regulate paint quantity
Note: The front locking screw is used to limit the ad-justment range of the stroke stop screw (4).

Increase the amount of paint: Turn the stroke stop screw (4) anti- clockwise.

Reduce the amount of paint: Turn the stroke stop screw (4) clockwise.

Regulate air volume
Note: It is recommended to start with the maximum air volume. To do this, open the air volume control (7) to the maximum setting as described below under “In-creasing the air volume”.

Increase air volume:
Note: Increasing the air volume is usually advisable if the atomisation is too coarse.
Turn the air volume regulator (7) anti-clockwise.

Reduce air volume:
Note: Reducing the air volume is usually advisable if the mist spray is too thick. Regulator Turn the air volume regulator (7) clock-wise.

Maintenance and cleaning

Note: Thorough cleaning after each use is very impor-tant for safety and operation. Otherwise, for example, the needle will become clogged and the proper func-tioning of the device can no longer be guaranteed.

  • Wear suitable protective gloves when cleaning.
  • Do not use halogen solvents containing hydrocar-bons such as trichloromethyl, ethyl chloride, etc., as they react chemically with some of the paint spray gun materials. This can lead to dangerous reac-tions.
  • ATTENTION! Never place the paint spray gun com-pletely in solvent.
  • After each use, spray thinner (only outdoors#end#-danger#of#explosion!) or water through the device. To clean the housing, the nozzle head (9) and the spray holes inside it, use the enclosed cleaning brush or a cloth. Never use petrol, solvents or clean-ers that attack plastic.
  • First unscrew the stroke stop screw (4) by turning it anti-clockwise.
  • Remove the spring (11).
  • Remove the needle (10) using tongs (Fig. A).
  • Clean the needle (10) carefully with the brush (12). (Fig. B)
  • Put the needle (10) back into the paint spray gun.
  • Place the spring (11) on the end of the needle (10).
  • Screw the stroke stop screw (4) back on by turning it clockwise.
  • Unscrew the flow cup (3) anti-clockwise from the gun.
  • Remove the filter (13) as it is presented in Figure C and clean it with the cleaning brush.
  • Also clean the inner screw thread (14) of the flow cup (3) with the cleaning brush (Fig. D).
  • Connect the filter back into the gun (Fig. C) and screw the flow cup (3) clockwise onto it.
  • For rust protection, you can spray sewing machine oil through it after cleaning.
  • Oil all moving parts from time to time.
  • After cleaning the needle, the thread and seal must be treated lightly with grease.
  • Do not use lubricants containing silicone.
  • Only store compressed air devices in dry rooms.
