About ion

Ions are particles that combine negatively charged oxygen and moisture in the air, and cannot be seen through the naked eye.
(Ion generation method: High-voltage discharge)

Notes

  • You may notice a characteristic odor when using this appliance. This is caused by the ozone it generates and is not harmful to the human body.
  • A humming noise may come out of the Ion Outlet, but this is the sound of ion being discharged and is not a malfunction.
About thumb holder

This thumb holder is for easy holding.
This dimple helps you to hold the straightener easier with more stability.

Tips for best styling results

Brush your hair to ensure it is lying in the same direction.
Bundle and pin to hold your 4 2 hair in the order shown in the illustration.

  • If you have thick hair, separating the hair into more sections will make the styling easier.

Practice with the power off.

Please practice with the power off until you get used to using the straightener.

Styling order

Start styling from the bottom of the back of your head in the order of 1 to 2 and 3 to 4.

Hair types and styling guidelines
The hair styling effect may differ among individuals by the degree of curliness and hair type.

About hair-straightening products

  • Do not use the straightener immediately after a home straight perm liquid is used. Doing so may damage your hair. (The straightener may be used 3-4 days after a straight perm liquid. The straightener may also be used 3-4 days after having your hair treated at a beauty parlor.)

About dyeing products

  • Dyeing places great stress on the hair. After dyeing please wait for 2 or 3 days before using the straightener. If you use a temporary dye, wash it out and dry your hair before use.
  • It takes some time after dyeing for the color to settle. In the case of the temporary dye, the dye can dirty the straightener if it is not fully washed out. Also, your hair cannot be straightened when it is wet.

( Note that the time taken to reach operating temperature
may vary depending on the operating environment.)
    Notes

  • A temperature level of more than 200 °C is high and may damage your hair. We recommend that you avoid continuous lengthy use of this level, and only use it if your hair is in a suitable condition.

  • Please be careful as your hair will be hot after using.

Using the straightener
Before use, confi rm that the Temperature Setting Lamp has
stopped blinking and glows.
Straightening

  • Use the straightener without a volumizer attachment.
Hold a hair bundle with a width of approximately 5 cm.

  • Do not take too much hair as it may be diffi cult to straighten your hair.
Clamp the hair bundle in the center of the Iron Plate.

  • Use both hands and hold both holding tip to straighten curly hair.

  •  Do not use excessive force as it may place a strain on hair ends.
With the hair clamped, slide the straightener straight down toward the hair ends.

  • Slide the straightener slowly (at a speed slower than ordinary brushing).

  • Repeat the step, starting from the lower portion of your bundled hair.

  • When hair is clamped, do not hold the straightener in the same position as it may damage your hair.

Curling

  • Use the straightener without a volumizer attachment.
    < For inward curls>
Hold a hair bundle with a width of approximately 3 cm.

  •  Do not take too much hair as it may be difficult to style your hair.

  • Hold a bundle of hair in a square approximately 3 cm in width and 4 cm in thickness.
Tilt the main body 10° and clamp the hair bundle.

  • Clamp the hair bundle in the center of the Iron Plate .

  • Clamp the hair just above the point at which you want to make curls.

  • Tilt the main body 10° towards the  back-of-the-head.

After clamping a hair bundle, rotate the main body inwards, making at least half a rotation (180°).

  • Rotate the main body with both hands.
  • Rotate the main body inwards.
  • After the half-rotation, ensure that the hair tips protrude towards the back-ofthe- head.

< For outward curls>
Rotate the main body outwards.

  • The only difference is the direction in which you rotate the main body. Otherwise, follow the steps for inward curls.

Keeping the straightener in the half-rotated position, slide it straight down towards the hair ends while clamping the hair bundle.

  • Slide the straightener slowly (at a speed slower than ordinary brushing).

Recommended speeds (from scalp to hair ends)

Hair length/ Temperature level| ****

130 °C – 200 °C

| ****

230 °C

---|---|---
Medium| Approx. 3 sec.| Approx. 2 sec.
Semi-long| Approx. 4 – 5 sec.| Approx. 3 – 4 sec.
Long| Approx. 7 – 8 sec.| Approx. 5 – 6 sec.

  • When using the straightener at the maximum temperature level of 230 °C, do not exceed the time mentioned.
  • For a more defi ned curl, make a full rotation (360°) of the main body and slide it towards the hair ends.
  •  For an effective curl, move the straightener slowly at a same speed while clamping a small bundle of hair.
  • Grip the root of an already created curl with your hand. Then move it up and down. It will give you a more defi ned curl. Do not detangle the fi nished curls until the hair cools down

Adding top volume

  • Attach the Volumizer attachment.

  • Please practice with the power off until you get use to using it.
Hold a hair bundle in the area where you want to add volume.

  • Each hair bundle should be about 2 cm (thickness) x 5 cm (width)

  •  Ensure that hair bundle is properly arranged, then pull it in perpendicular direction toward the scalp.

  • With the volumizer attachment towards the inward side, clamp the hair from the root.

  • Rotate main body by more than 90° from the root then slowly pull upwards and turn towards the side with the volumizer attachment.

Panasonic-EH-HV70-Multi-Styling-Straightener-26

Release the hair bundle after pulling approximately 10 cm from the root.
