Frequently Asked Questions
Do you know if R400 works for google docs (presentation)?
Left/right and screen blank work natively on Google Slides, on ChromeOS, running from Chrome browser. I have not yet figured out how to fix mapping on the 'start slideshow' button, even with the 'Shortkeys' Chrome extension. If I do figure it out, I'll try to update it.
Is this compatible with my MacBook laptop computer?
This Remote is compatible with new MacBook Pros, using USB-C, when used with a USB adapter. I had a different (much cheaper) wireless remote that did NOT work when adapted to USBC. 2017 Model MacBook Pro, running Sierra.
Can this be used for powerpoint demonstrations?
Yes. I have used it with PowerPoint presentations on both Mac and Windows. I have also used it with Prezi presentations on Windows.
Will this device allow me to rewind and forward a video clip within ppt or Keynote?
No, it won't. It can only run the clip but not control how the clip is run. It won't allow you to rewind a clip embedded in a keynote or ppt.
Does it work with keynote (mac computers) as well as with power point?
On my mac, it seems to work perfectly with Powerpoint for Mac. For Keynote, it will cycle through all slides just fine but the button to launch a presentation does not work (that has to be done from the laptop itself)
Does this pointer work with Windows 10?
Yes, it works just fine. You just have to make sure that if you are using a split screen your mouse is on the presentation. Otherwise, why you are trying to click through the next slide you might actually be surfing through your emails.
Has anyone have used it on Linux?
It works for me when using LibreOffice on Ubuntu.
Does it work if I was using a pdf as my presentation?
I can't answer definitively. I'd try it now, but I don't have it with me. I do have an earlier model of Logitech Presenter though, and slide forward and backward buttons did function as page down and page up, respectively in a PDF. That is when I pressed the slide advance button, the PDF page advanced from 1 to 2, from 2 to 3, etc.
Does it have a mouse
No. It does not have a mouse. It's typically used to advance a powerpoint presentation from one slide to another. If you need to click on something on a slide, you will have to return to your computer to do so.
Can i rewind and forward with this device?
With a slide presentation, you are able to move forward or backward, one slide at a time, with the device. It may have more capabilities that I am not aware of yet.
Where is the receiver?
There is a small USB that you take out of the wireless presenter and plug into your laptop. It nests nicely inside the presenter when you are not using it. The whole thing is great. We have two now...just in case someone loses one.
