IMPORTANT
Prior to installing: To help ensure a positive experience, continued warranty coverage during the warranty term, and reliable operation, please consider the following points before installing the Processor:

  1. Record the serial number in the front page of this poster. You can find the serial number on the top of the retail box. The serial number is required for any warranty claims.
  2. Use only with a thermal solution sold with or recommended for this AMD Processor (see AMD’s website for a list of third party approved cooling solutions for the specific AMD Processor you are using); or in accordance with the applicable thermal design documentation (see AMD’s website for technical documents: see www.amd.com/support for details). Use of any other thermal solution will void the warranty.
  3. Never use the processor without an appropriate thermal solution installed.
  4. Never handle the processor by the pins.
  5. Read and follow installation instructions carefully. Incorrect installation may result in overheating or other damage to the processor that will void the limited warranty.
  6. High-quality thermal interface material is required for all AMD Processors. The thermal solution included with some retail AMD Processors has pre-applied thermal interface material.
If you remove the thermal solution after initial installation, you must first clean the thermal solution surface and apply new thermal interface material before reinstalling the thermal solution on your processor.

Three (3) Year Limited Warranty for Processor in a Box
Except as otherwise provided herein, and only for the three (3) year period (the “Warranty Term”) beginning after the date the AMD processor contained in this box and that has a valid, AMD verified serial number (the “AMD Processor”) was first purchased by the original customer, AMD warrants that the AMD Processor, when properly installed and used with the thermal solution provided herewith (or if a thermal solution is not provided, then with a third party cooling solution that conforms to the applicable AMD thermal design documentation or with AMD approved cooling solutions — see www.amd.com/support for details), under normal use conditions, will be free from defects in material and workmanship and will substantially conform to the AMD publicly available specifications.

If the AMD Processor fails to meet the above warranties during the Warranty Term, AMD, at its sole option, will: (1) Repair the AMD Processor by means of hardware and/or software; (2) Replace the AMD Processor with another AMD Processor of equal or greater performance, OR (3) if AMD is unable to repair or replace the AMD Processor, refund the then-current value of the AMD Processor. This warranty does not extend beyond the first purchaser of the AMD Processor.

Congratulations on your purchase of an AMD Processor in a Box (PIB). Please follow these instructions carefully to help ensure the most positive experience with your system.

WARNING –

  1. As with all computer equipment, the PIB components can be damaged by Electro Static Discharge (ESD). Take proper ESD precautions when handling PIB components.
  2. To ensure full compliance with the AMD Limited Warranty for PIB products, a thermal solution must be used. For those PIB products that include a thermal solution, the thermal solution included must be used. If a thermal solution must be purchased, it must meet or exceed the thermal solution requirements provided at www.amd.com/support.
  3. Do not apply voltage until the thermal solution is fully installed. If voltage is applied before the thermal solution is fully installed, the processor may overheat and failure may result. Read through and understand the installation instructions completely before you begin.
  4. The PIB is intended to be operated only within the associated AMD published specifications and factory settings (AMD Specifications) and may only be used with socket infrastructure set forth in such specification. Frequently Asked Questions

Does this cpu come with the coolong fan?

Yes, it comes with a cooling fan.

Is this Gen 3 or Gen 4?

This may have also been about PCIe 3. o vs 4.0 support. the 5700g and all 5000 series APUs (the ones with a G and built-in graphics) are PCIe 3.0. They do not support 4.0.

Will this cpu fully utilize a motherboard with 128gb of ram installed?

16GB VRAM is the max dedicated memory possible for video graphics, with the bios allocating additional shared RAM (of the total available installed RAM) for GPU functions on a variable scale; depending on present system need and also your motherboard bios settings.

What is the minimum size power supply to support this cpu? 550? 650?

The devices you plug into your power supply sip power from it, not the other way around. The PSU does not output 550w or 650 all the time. If you have a 12w being used in the system, then whatever the PSU and that device negotiate at the startup will be the wattage. Don't believe me, get a kilowatt device, plug in just your motherboard without a , GPU and see the difference when you do plug it in.

Can you use this with a gpu?

Yes, you could use it with a GPU.

Does this heat much?

I think it (Ryzen 7 5700G) runs cool. I have 3 monitors connected using the internal graphics (24

Will it work on a 400 watt power supply?

The worst that can happen is that your components will not power up. If you are under powering the system, then it will possibly give you problems with weird errors and things like usb won't work properly, sound might go funky, etc. It never hurts to have an overkill power supply. The best thing is that if you plan accordingly, you will possibly use the power supply for other machines down the road and it will cost that much less to re-use the power supply you have with your upgrades.

Does it make a lot of noise?

Really just depends on how you configure the fan.

Will 4 8gb sticks of ram work or the cpu can only work with 2 8gb because I brought so I would have enough when I buy a dedicated graphics card

Yes, four 8GB sticks would work as long as it is supported by the motherboard. That isn't usually an issue, just make sure that the speed is compatible for the best performance.
