Product Information

The Nexus 110 AC Sounder & Sounder-Beacon is a device designed to produce various tones for alerting and evacuation purposes. It comes with 64 tone options that are compliant with different standards, such as BS5839-1:2002, Apollo Fire Systems Alert Tone, Apollo Fire Systems Evacuate Tone, ISO 8201 Low tone, ISO 8201 High tone, Australia AS1670 Alert tone, and more. The device also has a peak sound level of 116dBA@1m and can be connected to a controller, beacon, and common N.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before installation, ensure that the unit is fitted with a fused spur incorporating an all-pole disconnection device providing 3mm contact separation in all poles. Also, ensure that the fuse, cable size, and gland type are rated sufficiently for the total load on the sounder circuit.
  2. Isolate the unit from the electricity supply before removing the cover. Only suitably qualified personnel should gain access to the unit to perform adjustments to the tone or volume. WARNING: no user serviceable parts contained within the unit.
  3. To install the sounder, mount the base unit first and make the external wiring connections to the base. The head unit then automatically connects when it is attached to the base.
  4. Note that the head only fits onto the base one way around. If a beacon is fitted, care should be taken when mounting the base to ensure that the beacon will be positioned in the desired orientation after the sounder is attached.
  5. Refer to the dip switch (S1/S2) settings for selecting the desired tone option.
  6. Refer to the peak sound level (dBA@1m) for adjusting the volume level of the sounder.
  7. Connect the device to a controller, beacon, and common N as per the installation diagram provided in the manual.
  8. Test the device after installation to ensure that it is functioning properly.
