Instructions for wheelchairs with fixed axle
Mounting the frame
-
Install the battery on the Twist by inserting it in its housing.
-
Park the Twist on the ground placed on its four-point Kickstand base
-
Insert the grooves on the frame into the lower pin of the Twist
-
Push the frame at its upper part to engage the frame on the Multi-link Klaxon®
-
Screw the knob to secure the frame to the Twist
-
Park the twist on the Kickstand’s supports of the frame stand that will now be located near the front light
-
Position the Rear Linking on the wheelchair axle as shown in the picture, with the red engagement and disengagement lever pointing towards the rear of the wheelchair
-
Provisionally fasten the four screws on the clamping ring until all backlashes disappear, but leaving the clamping ring still able to rotate on the axis to make the necessary adjustments.(Caution: the four screws must be tightened evenly).
Ensure that the Rear Linking is positioned exactly in the centre of the wheel axle to obtain a neutral, central thrust from the motor. Caution: If the motor is mounted off-centre, the wheelchair will tend to turn on itself or deviate to the right or left once in motion. -
Place the Twist on the ground behind the wheelchair, with the light facing the Rear Linking
-
Push the Twist forward until the lower pin of the Twist is located exactly in the Engagement Groove of the Rear Linking
-
Grasp the handle of the frame and push the Twist simultaneously forwards and downwards until it engages with the wheelchair. You will hear the classic “Klick” sound that confirms that the Twist has been successfully engaged. Set the correct position of the device by pulling the handle upwards until it reaches the wheelchair seat, then releasing the handle until the wheel reaches the soil.
-
Tighten the 4 clamping ring’s screws definitively. Use a torque wrench set to 10 Nm.
-
It will now be possible to unlink the Twist by pulling the engagement/disengagement lever
-
In order to make sure that the Linking System is correctly positioned, repeat the linking and unlinking procedure with the person sitting in the wheelchair. The linking and unlinking procedure should be carried out without any difficulty even with the user on board.
If the Linking/Unlinking is not successful with the user in the wheelchair, repeat the procedure from step 8 with the user on board.
